Whole House Remodel
House: The two structures renovated provide gorgeous living space as well as a peaceful, artistic get-away where the homeowners can truly open themselves up in a creative environment. The main house incorporates a spacious layout with 30-foot ceilings in the great room and an impressive 40-foot stone fireplace. The most unique feature of the great room is something you may never see in any other home. An antique ice boat is featured high on the wall to serve as the center piece this nautical themed interior. Other special features of the main house include Brazilian Cherry floors, an elevator system to reach all three levels, and a master bathroom oasis, including whirlpool tub, curved walk-in shower and separate vanities for a more individualized approach to a relaxing morning. One of the coolest features of the home is a hidden room in the cabinets, containing a slide leading from the main floor to the lower level. Barn: The 100-year-old barn had been in the family for four generations. Instead of leveling it and re-building, our clients brought it back to life as not only a cozy retreat, but as their sanctuary for inspiration. The home/art studio’s walls were built around the existing barn walls for improved energy efficiency. Ceilings followed the original structure’s form and beams were refinished and left exposed to keep the barn feeling inside. The original hay bale fork and trolley system even remain operable at the peak of the home’s ceiling.
