These homeowners wanted a guest bath that would appeal to the younger generation. They envisioned a serene spa-like space where their grown children could unwind and indulge on visits to the family home. Of course, since grandkids often come in tow, the bathroom needed to charm the little ones, too. As any grandparent (or real estate agent) will attest, you need at least one tub in the house for just such occasions. The trick would come in meeting both goals within the confines of a small guest bathroom. The best solution came as no surprise: A tub-shower combo would have to do double duty. But that’s where predictability ends. This tub-shower combo takes center stage—with its striking gray-and-white variegated quartzite tub deck and frameless glass sliding doors. Inside, a polished chrome rain shower head and coordinating tub filler with thermostatic valve square off above an extra-deep soaking tub. Gray porcelain tiles cover the room’s floor and shower walls, where a smart storage niche keeps bathing essentials within reach. The tub’s distinctive stone repeats atop a double-sink floating vanity in gray matte lacquer. Six sleek, handle-free drawers provide ample storage below, while a wall-to-wall frameless mirror above reflects light from the nearby window and white walls that define the toilet area.
