They're really great. They were able to do the work and they were on time.
When the front door was re-stained the door handles and lock were removed. Since that time, the door does not close properly. To close it, we must slam it closed, or slam it with our bodies after it is closed, so that the locks are engaged. The bannister on the staircase going from the living room to the dining room was to be sanded and stained. It was originally light brown, almost sand colored. It was redone several times, by two different people and got progressively darker each time. It is almost black. This was not the intended color. Gate hardware was replaced. The new latches have already rusted and they do not open and close properly. They are worse than they were before Case started working on them. The stain on the East side fence stops about a quarter to a half inch above the ground. The wood closest to the ground is not protected from the elements.
Quality work and warranty
The projects we had done turned out great. We are already utilizing our new window and porch a lot.
I know I can count on the quality of FRED/Case work. The kitchen, which Case did several years ago, is still in great shape and I like the design decisions we made, most of which were suggested by the Case folks. Thank you!
Unfortunately, at this price level I don’t think I could count on my friends getting their money’s worth with Fred.
Dave was fantastic. He is truly a craftsman and communicated every step of the way. Loved working with him. Jaramillo Masonery, the subcontractor was not fantastic. They were completely unsupervised, walked around the inside of the house not wearing masks, had to come back several times to address issues, put tire tracks in the front lawn because they didn’t want to walk an extra five feet to bring gravel to the well. The tracks were never fixed. You all charge what 30% markup on subcontractor’s work? And a mark up on the job to cover the project manager (PM)? With those kind of margins, I expect so much more than we got. Brian was great in signing us up initially and getting us closed out so we could make final payment. But the work in the middle was inadequate at best and way below industry standard at worst. He sent us warehouse guys to do finish work and frame inside and it was clear they did not know what they were doing, even though we were paying for skilled labor. He didn’t schedule two ppl when parts of the job required it, which just slowed down the work. No paper or designs, no written description of the work being performed. He sometimes ignored texts or messages. Communication was atrocious. Dealing with getting a county permit was abysmal and just one excuse after the next. This job was supposed to be completed around Thanksgiving last year. How are we supposed to recommend Case/Fred to someone else, when I’m not even sure I’d consider you for another job?
The focus person absolutely understood all are needs, the workers were top notch and very thoughtful in their work.
They did a nice job and addressed my concerns.
Yes woukd recommend
My experience with Fred was excellent. The representative came out soon after I claled, reveiwed the project, adapted the project to my budget, and simply made it happen I was - and am - delighted with the whole Fred experience. It was a small project, but they treated it as if it were a large one. Importatn!
Was very happy with the service provided. Project started & completed on time.
They did a good job, but they were pretty expensive, so I am not sure if I would recommend them for everything.
We are comfortable asking Fred and Case to remodel or improve our home.
The level of professionalism and attention to detail is not found anywhere else in this area. Highly recommend.
Cost seems to be high, so I'd first recommend getting estimates and recommendations from various providers. I had an initially not very good experience, plus a pricing surprise on a project being considered (though not performed). However, the surprise seemed to be related to the issues with the initial consultant rather than being associated with company practice.
It's been a pleasure to work with Brian Knott.
I especially appreciated my consultant's responsiveness when questions or issues arose.
Bid was on high end of quotes, but work was professional & well done.
I thought that Joe did an excellent job and was really accessible and attentive. They were very professional and it was a great experience.
The experience was professional, timely, and clean up performed. The carpenter was skilled, and advised me regarding progress and requested visual in inspection and during and at the completion of each project! Courteous and cared about his work and doing the job right.
An all in one resource, and they back up all of their work with a guarantee.
We signed our contract on August 13 with an expected completion date of October 31...as of today...our work is not finished. During the project the supervisor, Randy Waters, left your organization on November 14 without introducing us to our new contact. We had to proactively reach out and ask who our new contact was. Chuck Khiel is doing his very best to finish the project, but we are waaaay past our expected completion date. One action where Randy excelled was to insure that our progress payments was made, especially just before he left...In hindsight, I should have waited for the project to have been completed before making the last of two payments on the project.
FRED Home Improvement has very long lead times between contract and start of work.
Fred did a very good job building our portico. I liked their designs and the workmanship
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of FRED Home Improvement as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
