Outstanding company from the presentation to energized system. Very helpful staff that quickly answer any questions and solve any issues. Highly recommend!
The service I received was deplorable. I can't ever recommend a company that treats their customers this badly.
We had a mixed experience with Boston Solar. The good: Dan Sacco was a very pleasant salesman, and reviewed all of our options thoroughly. Boston Solar was also the only company we contacted that sent someone out to record our site conditions and provide estimates based on something more concrete than a Google satellite photo. I was also happy to hear that Boston Solar would proactively monitor my system during the first 10 years, and proactively send someone out in the event of a warranty repair. The fact that they guaranteed output for the first 10 years also made me feel comfortable with the production estimates they provided. The not-so-good: The communication since signing has been an ongoing frustration for us. The expected timeline was laid out, but then as dates slipped and things didn't happen in a timely fashion we had to repeatedly reach out to find out where things stood. When the install week finally arrived, I was originally told it would be a 3 day process. I assumed (falsely), that this meant 3 full work days. It turns out that the crew only works from around 9 to about 1-1:30 (they did work until closer to 4 on the final day). They also left without doing any work on the first day due to rain. I understand that safety is critically important, but I had been told that installs happen even during snowy periods during the winter, but I stayed home for a day to meet the crew and after an hour or so they said they couldn't work because it was raining. This meant that I had to be home 4 days that week. On the final day as they were getting ready to leave I realized that the critter guard wasn't installed. They said that this would be done later by a different crew, but this was never communicated to me either. Our system has been operational for nearly a month now, and we are still struggling to get a response on when the critter guard will be installed. We found out today that our PM left the company, but that still doesn't explain why most questions about status updates are ignored, or take days to get a response. They were, however, very prompt about sending the final bill as soon as the system was energized. Overall, my opinions are mixed. I think the workmanship looks decent, and I think the sales process went reasonably well, but the communication problems over the 3 months of trying to get permitted and installed have been frustrating.
Great Communication throughout the whole thing. Quality is top tier and top of their priorities.
Very professional team. Kept me in the loop throughout the entire process.
Boston Solar was extremely thorough and everyone we interacted with was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They led every aspect of the process and kept us in the know and clearly communicated actions needed from me.
Everything turned out as promised, and it has been a pleasure to work with Boston Solar!
Easy to communicate with, know their business inside and out, and very responsible crew.
I left a Google Review and here it is again. "My experience with Boston Solar has been exceptional. I met with five solar companies before choosing Boston Solar. In my first visit with Boston Solar, Mark Camerato sat with me for almost 2 hours to learn about the habits of my family with regards to current electricity usage and future plans that will impact our current usage. Mark took lots of notes and went back to his team before providing us with a quote. The other solar companies provided quotes on the first visit without really taking the time to learn about our current and future electricity needs. They flashed their fancy equipment and talked about satellites, blah blah blah. As interesting as all of that is, I knew plenty about solar before meeting with these companies via my extensive research, so what I wanted was a human being to provide value to my household, not just industry jargon. Mark by far created value and it has been a pleasure working with him. The wonderful experience didn't end with Mark, it continued on with the rest of his team. Meghan McNamara, the Boston Solar Project Manager, was very responsive and handled the entire process with permitting, application documents for the SMART program, National Grid communications, etc. all while explaining everything clearly to me so I knew what was happening behind the scenes. There is a lot that goes into installing and energizing a solar system and the Boston Solar team made the process so easy and stress free. I am excited to partner with Boston Solar and watch our savings grow all while being environmentally friendly. Thank you Boston Solar for being a great solar company to work with. :)"
I thought the project coordinator was very helpful. Her name was Mali. She seemed very knowledgable.
Good service, and kept us informed.
Sales: 4 of 5 (first salesman was dishonest or ignorant and was turned out of my house in less than 10 minutes, but glad they sent another sales consultant the same week). Installation crew: 5 of 5. Project manager and communication: 2 of 5. During the evaluation period, Boston Solar beat out 5 other solar installation companies.
Boston Solar is a professional organization that did a quality installation at our home.
We didn't have any difficulties. They followed up and were definitely attentive to the progress of the installation. Even if we didn't answer they kept us apprised through email or voicemail, to let us know what was going on. They kept us in the loop and were easy to work with. They did most of the thinking for us. It was a really good experience and they were professional.
Great experience from start to finish. All of the Staff are very knowledgeable. If someone didn't know the answer to something they knew exactly who to direct me to. My Install was was quick and clean, the install crew was nice and considerate of my thoughts. Everything looks great and is working as it should. Thanks you!!
I am completely satisfied, thank you Boston Solar.
Process was complicated but in the end installation was done well (hanging wires after initial install were fixed in timely manner).
Boston Solar was very easy to work with and very professional.

GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Boston Solar as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
