I have recommended Boston Solar to a number of neighbors nd co workers in hopes that some will pursue solar panels. i will continue to tell people how much i love my system and i have Boston Solar to thank to that!!
We are very pleased with the performance of our recently installed system and already seeing cost savings.
I would recommend them highly. Very knowledgeable
Overall it was a positive experience. COVID added difficulty but we are happy with our system and hopeful that it works well for many years to come.
We were very happy with Boston Solar. Start to finish, everyone was professional and helpful.
They are very professional and pleasure to work with,
The customer support from Boston Solar was excellent. They responded immediately and the work was done fast from start to finish.
Excellent workmanship, the technicians were very neat and friendly and did a quality job.
Overall, I would recommend Boston Solar. Our two main problems were (1) a subpar experience with our first project manager and (2) persistent and lengthy delays by Eversource. Boston Solar addressed the first problem and provided us with a great replacement. We also acknowledge that the second problem was out of the hands of Boston Solar, although we were surprised that Boston Solar was not able to put more pressure on Eversource to comply with its service level agreements or, at the least, provide more information regarding the delays.
The Boston Solar team was terrific to work with from sales to project management through installation, I would highly recommend the Boston solar team!
Boston Solar did a very good job overall
Can't say enough about Boston Solar. From start to finish it is top notch!
Absolutely. Everyone was wonderful, thorough, and determined to make the project successful. My system is amazing with production when the sun is shining. I wanted to have a local/regional reputable company to do the work and Boston Solar is the leader in Massachusetts. They handled all the paperwork and red tape of which there is quite a bit
I think they did a great job. I am very happy with my solar and I actually have recommended them to a friend.
Boston Solar delivered the project effectively and I would use them again.
I think the sales process was thorough and seamless. However, the installation has taken way longer than expected.
Our project was delayed due to COVID-19 and needing a roof replacement, which is not the fault of Boston Solar. However, we feel the communication could have been more pro-active during the construction phase and that the company was a bit slow in completing the project once it was started.
Everybody has different experiences, but mine was not ideal. Sales experience was great and the electricians were great. Estimated time-frame to completion was blown by almost double. Multiple attempts to fix roof install. Lots of me pulling information. Communication was not proactive. I did not feel like a valued customer.
We were trying to decide between two companies and Boston Solar became the clear winner. Everyone was professional and not pushy in the least. They really wanted us to be knowledgeable consumers and being confident in our decision.
I am very satisfied with my experience with Boston Solar. The entire team was very professional. There was a delay turning on the system due to issues with the electric company, but this was out of Boston Solar’s control and they did everything they could to see the project to completion in a timely fashion. I’m glad I went with a local company that stands by their work and offers a robust post-installation service plan. The system is working great, and I would definitely recommend Boston Solar for anyone who is considering a solar installation.
The process was easy and the incentives were very compelling
issues with finishing up job, multiple visits by staff without required tools, or knowing exactly what they needed to do...the majority of the job was done impeccably, but that last little bit left a bad taste.
It's been three months. My Tesla Powerwall isn't working, and my telepanel isn't working right after installation. They haven't come back yet. The last time I got a correspondence from somebody regarding the Powerwall in order to get it done was two months ago. I lost power during the Martin Luther King weekend, and it ended up blowing out my computer. It cost me $1,000. I have medical problems and disabled problems. As a result, I had to sleep all night sitting up.
It had my solar panes installed at the end of 2020 and it’s been an amazing experience working with Boston Solar. I was originally going to go with another company but it seemed that the more questions I asked them, the more fishy things were getting. Everyone from Boston Solar was extremely transparent, I knew exactly what I was getting and they answered a ton of my questions. It was also by far one of the easiest home improvement projects that I’ve done because the Boston Solar team takes care of absolutely everything. Would definitely recommend working with Boston Solar for your solar panels!
Working with Boston Solar has been an amazingly positive experience because they stayed committed to what ended up being a very challenging project due to the type of metal roof on my house. My journey towards getting solar on our home started even before we owned our current house. We learned that Belmont had worked with the state to put in place an incentive to go solar, but that the fund for the incentive was very limited. The incentive was only expected to cover about 15 homes and we wanted to be one of them. The Boston Solar sales person was willing to meet us about doing the project with just a P&S agreement in hand and we worked with the (now former) owners of the house to have Boston Solar come onsite to do a survey of the roof and exposure before the closing on the house had been completed! As soon as the engineering team got involved, it was clear that due to the type of metal roof the house has, that the roofing company would need to be involved. That's where the project got challenging and frustrating. The metal roof is a proprietary technology such that only the company that manufactures it is authorized to work on it. Getting the roofing company to be responsive during the design, scheduling, and installation process was terrible. In fact Boston Solar sent out a whole installation crew on the day the installation was supposed to happen only to have the roofer from the roofing company say that the roof mounts that both companies had previously agreed to would leak. Yikes. Shame on the roofing company for not having identified the problem when they were offered literally months of time to review the technical plans including plans for roof mounts. Kudos to Boston Solar for making the expensive decision to halt the work until a new solution could be identified with the roofing company. Unfortunately that was not the last time that the roofing company wasted Boston Solar's time, but Boston Solar never complained to me about it, in fact they apologized to me for delay in the schedule! As we know, nothing is ever perfect. I could provide many, many examples of Boston Solar's excellent customer service and customer-friendly installation staff. There were a few small opportunities for improvement... (1) There was confusion about whether or not my electrical panel needed to be moved due to proximity to water lines. Based on these concerns I agreed on a plan with Boston Solar that seemed workable. In the end, it turns out that the issue was a non-issue; the panel did not have to be moved as the town electrical inspector would have passed the work with the panel in the original location. This confusion did lead to a sub-optimal location for the upgraded electrical panel. (2) It would have been nice for the electrician upgrading our panel from 100 amps to 200 amps to label the new panel based on the labeling on the old panel. Overall though, I thought Boston Solar did an excellent job and if I ever had occasion to contract for another solar system, I would not hesitate to use them again. AMENDMENT: Boston Solar did respond to my feedback regarding not labeling the breaker panel and sent someone out to do that for me.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Boston Solar as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
