We had a not so pleasant experience with Starlight Homes, from the Salesperson we worked with Malek to the Lead Builder Chris. We're still dealing with issues in our "new build" home that require attention. Today's customer service has taken 10 steps back from the customer service I'm typically accustom to. Businesses use to pride themselves on how well they took care of their customers, not today. Salesperson Malek's and Lead Builder Chris's response time lacks terribly, that's even if you receive a response, they do not make sure all things that need fixing are taken care of, they lock you in and basically move on. We're first time home buyers and were under the impression we would be heard, listened to and taken care of. This was not at all the case. Our grass was never maintained and we're dealing this issue today still because of it, our garage door still needs to be flushed, they're literally throwing houses up and moving on with no regard of how the work is done as long as it gets done, no standards. I wish Starlight Homes held themselves to a higher standard. I'd love to speak with someone who actually shows concerns. I have photos I'm happy to share as well.
This was not our first experience buying a new home. But it was our first experience with Starlight. In comparison to our first home buying experience, this company falls short in quality and craftsmanship. There are visible drywall seams, one shower is unusable and many things that were promised during the walkthrough are still not done, over a month later. I love the layout of this home but it is missing many things that other homes have that are selling for the same price. Some of the materials used seem cheap and I wonder how long they will last.
We loved our purchase experience with Starlight Homes almost as much as we love the home itself. Hailey was an absolute rockstar. If you’re looking for a home, someone who is willing to answer all of your questions no matter how small, and be a part of the team every step of the way, I cannot recommend her enough. She went above and beyond.
The whole Starlight Home team is really on top of every single aspect of buying a house. Supportive and problem solving. Cynthia Torres it's the best.
The home wasn't completely built, it was dirty when I got it, and it took a long time for someone to come complete the repairs that needed to be done.
The sales experience was fine. Our salesperson was super nice and very communicative. They asked us to close at a time that was not good for us and refused to move it just one day. Because they rushed the close of the house there were still things not complete and not done well. Been in there house a month and we still have an unpainted door. Probably would be a better review had we not been forced into a closing date we did not want and they had not had to rush to finish the house because of the closing date.
The purchasing process was a breeze, and though we were prequalified, we actually went with Starlight's Lender Velocio Mortgage. We've now had our house for a month, any issues we've had(as all new builds are prone to minor issues) the Starlight team has addressed urgently and seriously. Thank you Brandon at Velocio, for your patience, great attitude, and explaining everything in such depth that I actually understood the loan process! Thank you Cynthia in the front office, and Matt the construction manager for your wonderful customer service! Your willingness to go above and beyond continously is unmatched.
They have awesome service and offer unlimited prices. I am highly satisfied with them.
I'm satisfied with the service from beginning to end.
The starlight homes is a responsible builder, I think I enjoy their service during the purchasing process and the after purchase service.
I bought a house in November. We did a pre-walk with the construction manager and when we closed, most of the items were not completed. It is now almost January and still waiting for most of the repairs to be completed. In addition, I expected that paying over $400k for a house would at least get you toilet paper holders for your bathrooms or at a minimum be clean. I like the house overall, but am very disappointed in the follow-up and basic amenities that I believe should be included in all houses.
I am not giving 0 because the house is okay. The Service Representative was outstanding.
We had a great experience with Starlight Homes! The team, Hailey Frey with Sales and Matt Shearon, the Construction Manager, was very knowledgeable, and they had excellent communication. They consistently went above and beyond to help with everything! I would highly recommend Starlight Homes to anyone.
Starlight Homes quality is poor. After closing, they do not contact you for weeks to repair items marked with blue tape on the walkthrough. The only thing I am thankful for is I have a warped roof over my head. My roof is wavy and the home inspector even pointed it out. I am dealing with things I should not too.
Communication was poor throughout process and unable to reach salesperson multiple times. Called, left voicemails, and texted and didn't hear back for weeks at a time. When it came time to purchase, salesperson just pushed me through the process to get a quick sale. Salesperson did not notify Starlight sales team that I had closed on my home on October 8th which led to a salesperson and prospecting couple to lift my garage after the front door was locked and walk into my home on October 9th. This is absolutely unacceptable and a huge invasion of privacy. Very unprofessional and couldn't be more disappointed but not surprised with the poor communication I received throughout my process from day one. Side of yard was destroyed when they graded my neighbors yard, came back and barely fixed anything.Another salesperson later parked in front of my driveway while they were showing prospects a home and I was at my home trying to leave.Poor craftsmanship on my cabinets with holes drilled all over the place and the wood stripped in my kitchen and can't believe someone would expect that's acceptable. All of my shrubs outside were planted all over the place and look like they were stepped on multiple times, going to have to replace them for sure.
Hailey was phenomenal to deal with and helped us throughout the process. Matt has always been there to help after moving in and answered any questions and the company as a whole went the extra mile and we would recommend them.
It was great to work with the sales team. My experience was awesome, and I will recommend Starlight Homes. My sales consultant was Malek and my construction manager was Kevin they both provided exceptional service, and answered all my questions quickly. Their customer service is excellent. My mortgage and closing was a trouble-free process, thanks so much to Brandon and his team at Velocio!!
This was my second home purchase and after going through the process before I had high expectations going into this venture and Starlight exceeded all of them. The things I disliked about my last process where not an issue this go around. It was day and night and I highly recommend this team for future home owners.
Starlight was a great builder for us. We were looking for a more budget friendly builder that didn't focus on upgrades and add ons. The build quality was great and we were able to select the home design that was perfect for us. The sales team, lender, and building manager were all so helpful throughout the process and we are very happy we chose Starlight!
From the beginning of the sales process to the completion everyone involved did e a great job of keeping us informed and producing a quality product.
I closed on my home last month and very happy with it. I had great communication throughout the process and my home closed on the date which I was told with no delays.
I love the customer service. It was a hard process, that as made amazingly easy! The sales agent, Malek made sure to make the entire process easier than I had expected.
The craftmanship has not been the greatest -- issues with flooring, windows being miss-aligned, doorknobs not being put on securely and locks not working.
Great company. Great people. Great service. They made everything easy and painless. Their builder was very helpful with the walk-through of the home. All around excellent service.
Nice enough home and employees. But, they asked me several times what small issues they could fix before close. I told them a couple of times, never got done either time. I gave up and fixed stuff myself, not a big deal to me but others may not be willing to fix a brand new 250k+ home. My grass was also delivered dead. I'm replacing it, what can you do.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the opportunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Starlight Homes Austin as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
