Talking to Charlie Crippen about a new deck was refreshing. Not your typical salesman. You don't get a low base price, then have to add on all the pieces you want. Charlie tells you what the total price will be and what it includes so there are no surprises at the end. We were comfortable doing business with him. The crew came out every day ready to work and, except for a lunch break, worked steadily until quitting time (or, for us, until the rain came almost every afternoon!). The whole process was pretty painless and the results are solid and beautiful.

Clean - Probably would have been cleaner, but almost every afternoon work was cut short by rain.

Problem Resolution - Only reason for 4 stars is that we still have a couple of minor problems to be resolved, but I'm confident that they will all be addressed to our satisfaction.

Professional & Organized - Yes, even their work trucks were clean and well-organized.

Value - A Crippen Woodworks deck is not cheap, but it is the last deck we will need and with quality materials and almost no annual maintenance, the price is justified.

Safe - Each day all of the equipment and supplies were packed up and stored. They did a great job of making sure no nails or screws were left behind after the project was complete.

Respectful - They always made sure to close the fence gates when they left so my dogs would not get out. The crew were always respectful with my property and I trusted them being there.

The work they did was extremely professional. I'm in the trades my self, so I know the worth of a job done well. They took the time to make sure it was done right. A lot out of people are out there to take your money and run, but they did the job I wanted and made sure it was done right. I am very satisfied. I have a high standard, and they met it without a doubt.

Additional Comments - I'm very satisfied with the quality of their work. I know they were not the cheapest, but I paid for the peace of mind. The deck is 14 feet off the ground, and it is built like a tank. I could put an elephant on it. Skilled workmanship is not cheap, and cheap workmanship is not skilled. I am very happy that I paid for my peace of mind.

This company was professional in all aspects. Charlie Crippen helped us think through options, was fair and a bit lower in price than other bids, and his team did a good job. They finished it mostly on time (only had to wait a day or so extra for parts) and addressed very minor things in a timely manner. Would highly recommend this company.
