Everything was great until I closed. I closed in May. I still have not had anyone out for my thirty day warranty. No one is responding from the warranty department.
Overall we are more satisfied with than with not in our Murphy home though we had issues through out the process of building that could have been easily corrected through internal coordination and communication between the various levels of supervision, in coordination with the us. We have already shown our home to former neighbors, who some have taken the time to contact and meet with the sales representative about potentially building within the new neighborhood.
I would recommend Murphy Homes to my friends. Overall the process was really good and easy. I love the floor plan and they we receptive to the changes of the floor plan to best fit our lifestyle.
Since this was our first build, we don't have another experience to compare this build to. There were errors and communication issues that lead to extra stress, however, MH has addressed or is in the process of addressing our concerns. The overall rating is based on comments in the following survey questions.

We're torn. We would recommend Murphy Homes for some reasons, but not for others. For instance, we do love the home that we have, but we're still not excited about the level of customer service along the way.
I have had a lot of issues throughout the building process, and things I paid for were not done.
Overall, the end result is beautiful and we are happy with our purchase.
Poor quality and bad management.
They didn't finish a lot of stuff on our home that was supposed to be completed within seven days; we are going on two months. The main electrical conduit didn't get buried for a whole month. The trash receptacle was out there for two weeks, and the house number was left lying on the ground. We have a farmhouse sink that was very well scratched up, and we don't even know if they are going to do anything about it.
The main thing was very poor communication. We understand delays happen, but when we don't get updates or answers to our questions, it's very frustrating. Our realtor contacted Charlie on multiple occasions, who would apologize and promise improvement, but then we'd continue to have the same communication issues.
Murphy Homes was more concerned about the bottom line instead of the quality of their subcontractors. We had to do a lot of overseeing of their contractors. They did not pay good attention to the final details.
Just personal preference, Murphy homes does make pretty homes
Customer service wasn't to satisfaction
My experience with building with Murphy was not a good one.
Although we do love our home, we have experienced numerous communication fails with the builder and his employees. After closing nearly five months ago there are still items on our closing agreement that have not been completed. Also, we have already experienced complications with our master shower having a major water leak and the quality of work after it being "fixed" is horribly poor.
Charlie and his staff are fantastic. I’ve heard horror stories about people having home built and it made us weary about it, as this is our first. The folks at Murphy we’re the absolute best part of our build. They took excellent care of us and made sure we were happy. I recommend them to everyone I meet.
It takes a lot to get something finished.
I have had 3 co-workers come and look at Murphy Homes. One has reserved their lot and will begin building soon!
Murphy Homes does not deliver on what they promise. Pool, cabana, and playground were promised several years ago and they still have not been built. Houses are almost never complete at closing.
I've asked several times for someone to come out and look at a problem. No one has shown yet. The response I get is that they are working on a different road. Why don't they come to mine for a while?
Working with Murphy Homes was not a very pleasant experience. We hope their build quality is as good as people say. Regarding exterior finishing: the quality of workmanship is extremely poor. Everything that they use is cheap (for a so called premium home): cheap trimwork/woodwork, cheap electrical fixtures, cheap doors, cheap workmanship overall. We hope the construction and the overall structural health of the house is not as bad as some of the material that they use to finish their homes. They do no like to work with customers on inadequacies that are pointed out. The understanding that the customer is only asking for value for their money is highly lacking. You are only requesting a better finished product - not additional features. They assume you will just buy their homes irrespective, which is what we did unfortunately since we were tired of this process. A few positive notes: the neighborhood was good for us, they did agree to a few additional things we requested, a few people are nice to work with - talk to but the attitudes and moods swing depending on the day. Also, they may get some of your issues addressed in next three years if you constantly pester them and if they don't hate you as much once you are done with the process. We definitely expected better service, better quality, better professionalism and certainly not any last minute cheap and inadequate fixes for our concerns. There are a few better builders out there that you may want to consider first.
Very happy with our new home
Every time something is "fixed" they break something else. It is like a never ending band aid of solutions to something that should have been done right the first time.
