I had a terrible contractor who would never answer my calls and even if he did was very rude and unprofessional
There were a number of issues, most of which were not resolved to our satisfaction. They claimed where someone cut into our kitchen cabinets was a construction anomaly. The stain job on the kitchen cabinets was very splotchy. The garage door leaks water under the threshold and I believe it is because the sidewalk is not recessed enough. All of the ceiling fans installed in the home were out of balance and when I asked to have them fixed, they only fixed one and did not check any of the others. The website for logging problems is difficult to use. Their attitude is if there is a problem then we need to fix it ourselves.
I love my home, but my experience with the company is not something I would wish on anyone. It ruined my first home-buying experience.

For the price mine as well go for a complete custom home, the home was not perfect, there were a lot of new things that were already damaged.
The reason is, there are things that they didn't do right. The paint didn't match and they haven't been back to fix it. The guy that did the walk though seems to be in a hurry

The home was listed with a Sq ft size of 2224 Sq Ft .We finalized a price for 2224 sq ft . Later we came to know that it was less than 2224 sq ft . We accept the fact that in industry anything less than 50 sq ft is accepted but when we discussed price for our home it was on per sq feet. Second issue which we faced is with light fixtures on garage, Beacon homes told that outside light fixtures is max 4 including garage. But we can see that our 3 garage home in the neighborhood is the only one left with 2 lights on the garage . Front porch is left with Foot prints of paint from contractors which is still not resolved . I am an active member of our community and we get lot of visitors and functions that we organize at our home When visitors come home they ask us why this foot print of left on garage and why there is no light on one side the garage for a 3 garage home and we say this is Beacon "Builder default" . This is how they decide for their future home if they want to go with a builder or not

Areas Of Satisfaction - I was most satisfied with how flexible they were and how all our concerns were always heard. If there wasn't material available to us from one vendor, they let us find it somewhere else in order to use the material we wanted. It was a very custom experience and really nice.

Areas Of Satisfaction - Overall construction and structural integrity of the house is excellent. Good communication from field during construction. Change order costs in most cases seemed reasonable. The lot required a lot of dirt work, and Beacon graded the lot consistent with our agreements. Andy was the driving force and kept things moving.
