be carefull, this company is a ripoff. we had broken sewer pump in basement, I was quoted 2200 dollars for repair....the pump costs 175 dollars on amazon.....granted it is a messy job...I had another reputed plumber do the job for 700 dollars.

What's the best way to test out if my roof is leaking before it rains?

If you can get into your attic you should be able to see evidence of leaks. Look for staining and/or rotting wood at walls and penetrations.
