Kitchen, Dining Room, Mudroom, Living Room & More
This 1920s-built home in the Fernway neighborhood of Shaker Heights, OH was in need of serious attention. An unusually open floor plan was degraded by a terribly dysfunctional kitchen layout that was oddly segregated from the otherwise open first floor plan. The homeowners knew they would not be in the house for more than five years so Karlovec & Company was tasked with making the most of a strict budget. A redesign of the kitchen which utilized some existing cabinetry allowed us to fix the floor plan, update or replace all finish kitchen surfaces, while also squeezing in custom built-ins, hardwood floor refinishing, plaster repair and painting of the entire first floor.
