Additional Comments - While it definitely was a journey to get our construction over the finish line, I'm glad we chose Schaeffer Homes for our new home.

We love the home but we have had issues with our driveway and plumbing since October and it is February. We are scared to use the water in our home. Sub contractors broke a pipe and it has been non stop issues and our crawl space is wet. The pipe is still broken and clogged. Poop is flowing around the foundation of our new home. People are smelling sewage as they drop off our kids from school. The driveway is taking almost as long as the entire house to complete. We keep being told we are top priority and then we hear nothing. I’m scared others might get similar treatment. I love the home but the issues we are having are unsanitary and embarrassing. I know we have expressed our concerns before but now I’m worried about long term effects of these plumbing issues will have on our home. With the budget issues before we started building and the delay at the end- I would hesitate to recommend.

Areas Of Satisfaction - Love the shower, quality of cabinets, the porch, and how warm the home is in the winter. The floors are easy to clean and floor plan works well for our family. Maria is very qualified in working with contractors. Keith was transparent and approachable.

Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of the work provided by Schaeffer. I am grateful for the materials and contractors they selected which were instrumental to the overall quality I hope to enjoy for years to come.

I’m generally happy with Schaeffer so far. Having the price jump on me wasn’t a great start to my process, now paying $12,000 more for the same house due to a 30 day delay from our original schedule. I am not quick to recommend things until I’ve seen the full work complete. I’d like to withhold from answering this question at the time.

The land development department could do better

Schaeffer Holmes built us a beautiful, high quality home. I would definitely recommend Schaeffer Holmes to my friends and family.

As not only first time builders but also first time homebuyers, the process could be intimidating. Schaeffer took the reins and guided us perfectly throughout the process. They managed just about every aspect and made it as easy as possible for us. Anytime we had a question or concern, they always did a great job explaining things.

We had a great experience building our new home with Schaeffer Homes. We had an initial meeting at the model home and took a tour before Christie walked us through the process. We liked that we did not feel pressured into making the decision immediately and had time to consider all options. Once we decided to proceed with build we were able to schedule our design meetings quickly and at a date and time that fit our schedule. This was great for us since we did not live near model home or site. Before construction Ashley, was great at communicating changes and work orders that needed to be placed. Once construction, began Jason Downey kept us up to date with progress and pictures. He also great help with appliance drop off and install. Our home took a built longer than expected to build but we are incredibly happy with our home and satisfied with the quality of the build. Gail was also amazing during our first walk through. She was incredibly patient and thorough. A few issues that have come up during our first year in our new home were quickly resolved. Overall, great customer service and quality build. Thanks Schaeffer!!

I have already recommended Schaeffer Homes to a few friends based on how quickly they can put a home up once the construction work has started. The initial phase for our specific project took about 13 months to kick start before we could actually begin any excavation work which was definitely longer than we wanted, but the speed at which they move after definitely makes up for it!

I would be hesitant to recommend Schaeffer Homes as everything we asked for cost more than if we did it ourselves.

They have been good so far. I have no complaints. We are still early in the process.

I have already recommended Schaffer homes to countless friends, business associates and acquaintances. Schaffer exceeded our expectations in absolutely every category.

Many challenges in communication. Multiple turnover in project managers. No clear follow up. Overall a well built home. Happy to be done with this stressful process.
