In the late 1990's, this bathroom was en vogue, but styles can change drastically in 20 years. We removed an oversized jetted tub and carpet from the master bath, along with bold wallpaper and border. In place of the tub, we custom built a seating area, increased the size of the shower, and added a rain-head fixture. Heated tile flooring, new lighting, and a new vanity complete this beautiful master bath. The homeowners couldn't be happier with their new space and relaxing bathroom oasis.
Our customer was looking to make major changes to their kitchen and the functionality of other spaces, including relocating the laundry room upstairs and changing the old laundry room into a mudroom. We were able to open the wall to 72" between the dining room and kitchen.
The home's large living room (great room) was a spacious 17' x 22' with a 21' ceiling height. Unfortunately, the room needed a makeover. The rear wall needed new French doors and a molding treatment that unified the windows with the doors. The east wall required a new fireplace treatment, the south wall required the wall openings and balconies to be harmonized aesthetically, and the west wall lacked a focal point. Finally, the existing wet bar needed to be updated functionally and aesthetically.
This project is a whole home remodel that is being completed in 2 phases. The first phase included this bathroom remodel. The whole home will maintain the Mid Century styling. The cabinets are stained in Alder Wood. The countertop is Ceasarstone in Pure White. The shower features Kohler Purist Fixtures in Vibrant Modern Brushed Gold finish. The flooring is Large Hexagon Tile from Dal Tile. The decorative tile is Wayfair "Illica" ceramic. The lighting is Mid-Century pendent lights. The vanity is custom made with traditional mid-century tapered legs. The next phase of the project will be added once it is completed. This project was also selected to be 'Room of the Day' on Houzz. We gave this 1978 home a magnificent modern makeover that the homeowners love! Our designers were able to maintain the great architecture of this home but remove necessary walls, soffits, and doors needed to open up the space. The kitchen was closed off from the rest of the home and definitely dated. We opened up the walls and created a fantastic flow of space and light in this home. The modern sleek kitchen includes a wall of cabinets and a u-shaped prep area with dual sinks for 2 chefs to prep. The open space allows for entertaining and flow into the new dining area and media room adjacent to the kitchen.
The clients' extended family travels often from out of state to gather at this vacation home. With the addition of more grandchildren, the clients realized they need more storage, food-prep area, and a larger dining space in the kitchen. The inefficient cabinet layout did not utilize the wall area fully, and the overall aesthetic was very outdated. The original peninsula countercut off access to the food prep area. It was cramped and difficult for more than one person at a time to cook/prep food in the space. A new refrigerator did not fit into the old kitchen cabinet layout; it had been placed in the dining area and was taking up a lot of space where the clients wanted a kitchen table. The clients wanted the new design plan to relocate the refrigerator back into the interior of the kitchen. As avid wine drinkers, the clients needed temperature-controlled storage for their favorite wines and easy access to wine glasses.
The project is a renovation of a master bathroom for a couple looking to create a mini-spa in their home. The pictures show the original bathroom that dated to the 1980's with a cramped, angular space with a heavy use of white laminate finishes and white fixtures. The new bathroom is a combination of two adjacent rooms. It includes dual sinks on a floating vanity, a large sculptural soaking tub, and a sauna that is reached by walking through the zero-threshold shower.
Our clients asked for a renovation to their Ann Arbor home. They wanted to enlarge a small kitchen and open the space into the living area. The goal was to create an open concept floor plan that improved the flow, and made entertaining easier. They chose a contemporary, modern look that matched their lifestyle. Functionality was improved with an addition that now contains a mudroom and laundry room as well as a full bathroom. Our first task was to eliminate a section of a structural wall between the kitchen and living room. This allowed us to elongate the kitchen. A kitchen island island was centralized between the living room and the dining space was relocated. Additional windows were added and existing windows enlarged to fill the kitchen natural light. High-end materials were used to bring warmth and elegance to the space. These can be seen in the custom walnut wrapped pantry corner and a reclaimed walnut island front, which is framed by a quartz waterfall-edge counter.
Our company took this home that had experienced extensive water damage and did a complete remodel along with our restoration work. Nearly every room in this house was affected, including the living room, kitchen, all bathrooms, and the basement. We upgraded every aspect of this home by upgrading materials, finishes, and even adding on an entirely new bathroom. The shining stars of this remodel are the complete kitchen overhaul, the fireplace addition, and the gorgeous bathrooms.
A master plan was developed to upgrade and modernize the 1966 home, with two of the major goals being: expand the cramped and outdated kitchen and develop a traditional aesthetic with a strong attention to detail. By expanding into the backyard, the kitchen's footprint increased by 168-square-feet, giving the clients the extra space they wanted, while incorporating modern amenities such as optimized cabinetry organization, high-end appliances, and a large work island for baking and casual family dining. A new sun tunnel provided additional natural light and was augmented by plenty of recessed and task lighting. In keeping with the traditional motif, the designer created a subtle color palette of various shades of white, as seen in the cabinetry, matte subway tile, and marble floral tile in the niche at the cooktop.
We were approached by a former client's husband who asked us to create the kitchen of his wife's dreams. Every detail was thought through from where their napkins would be stored to where she would make her pies. Storage was a huge concern as their existing kitchen lacked adequate space. We were able to give them a space that feels open and bright, timeless and elegant, while being inviting and warm. Our clients are proud to show off their beautiful new kitchen!
This 1910 craftsman home was beautifully restored with the kitchen undergoing the biggest transformation. We removed an under-used porch and relocated the powder bathroom in order to extend the kitchen the whole length of the house. We added french doors and transom windows above the original windows flooding the space with natural light. Beautiful custom cabinets, quartz countertops and new appliances finish off the space.
The homeowners wanted to give this kitchen an updated look and make the space feel more open and functional. An existing laundry closet was relocated to allow for continuous countertops along the back wall and the island and peninsula bar were removed to open up the space. The homeowners selected a decorative backsplash tile and colorful base cabinets as well as a custom hood and open shelves to personalize the space.
A ranch house kitchen makeover was in order for this new owner. The openness, raised ceilings, and linear layout fits the functionality for this active couple. The island is juxtaposed to the stove top and the ovens allowing for lots of prep space and simple access to the cooking station without having to do laps. The addition of several skylights allows for increased natural lighting instead of the former kitchen being light by fixtures. The tile flooring matches the cabinets and highlights the beautiful granite countertops and the ceramic tile backsplash. "We just love our new kitchen!" -G&CJ.
Wanting a larger and brighter kitchen, we took over the unused space of the nearby dining room and combined it with a small addition to provide ample space for the kitchen and attached pantry. Once the demolition phase revealed the beauty of the century-old beams hidden in the attic and floor system above, the stage for the Farmhouse Kitchen of our customer's dreams was set.
New custom Crown Point cabinets replaced the old, providing ample storage and countertop space. The openness of the kitchen allowed for a larger island, giving the owner plenty of workspace and seating. Glazing on the cabinets and soapstone counters adds to the rustic farmhouse charm of the kitchen. The new large bay window, full lite front door, and cathedral ceiling add light and warmth to the kitchen. Accent lighting hidden on top of the beams help to show the warmth and charm of the roughly sawn pine ceiling above.
In addition to renovating their kitchen, we maximized our client's views and created an open concept in main living areas. We took advantage of the attic space to increase the ceiling height and stained the trusses for a rustic feel. We added windows, updated all of the finishes, and truly transformed this condo into a dream vacation home.
We completed this kitchen and living space remodel which involved the removal of a bearing wall. Then, we opened up the main living room to bring in more light and space. The client enjoys cooking and entertaining so we designed the space with that in mind. Now, he can party in style with state of the art equipment including voice-activated lights.
