The goal of this renovation was to get back to the original craftsman style and give a more cohesive feel to the kitchen and family room. Removing the dividing wall between the family room and kitchen created a much more fluid floor plan as separation was only introduced through the use of a cabinetry peninsula.
The lines between these two spaces were further blurred through the use of a similar style cabinetry that shows up in the kitchen as well as in the family room as an entertainment cabinet and wet bar. The shaker style cabinetry with inset-doors connects these new spaces to the detailing of the existing dining room built-ins and traditional style mouldings and coffered ceilings.
