Areas For Improvement - The final, completed product was very good. We are very happy with how it turned out. The subs they used were professional and the project moved at a decent pace. My only frustration was the cost came in so much higher than the budget, and there was little communication during the project informing us that our costs were so high. We learned this when receiving the final two invoices.

I was very pleased with all of the work performed and it was done in a timely manner. Everything was done very professionally and there were no shortcomings. They told me what day and time they would be there to complete my project and they were on time and had every item needed to complete my Sun room. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a honest deal for their money and quality work.

Emerald Sunrooms was a pleasure to deal with and they did a fantastic job repairing and replacing a sunshade. They are coming back to do some more work on the old sunroom and possibly some fence work. Such perfectionists, I would highly recommend.

Areas For Improvement - The original screen came in and they spotted that it had a hole in it. The order was resubmitted and I'm still waiting for them to set an appointment for the new install. They haven't been very responsive on that. I've called them to try and get that schedule, because it probably should have been done last week.

Emerald built us a small standalone building in our backyard that was designed as a commercial kitchen. He worked from my own drawings and made adjustments as we went along. For all Intents and purposes, this was a full blown house in small square footage. With all that could've gone wrong, Emerald made this an overall, positive experience for us. Everything never goes right, and this job was no exception, but I felt they leaned on the side of fairness and worked to resolve problems quickly and professionally. I'd not hesitate to use them again.

Expertise - He didn't have the depth in commercial kitchen knowledge, but he was more than expertly qualified to build the building to my liking.

Communication

Communication - Most of the project was great communications. We had occasional repeated discussions, but I rathered this than the wrong action taken.

Value - The job cost more than what I'd planned for, but I had adds and thought ESR worked to minimize waist and in most cases by challenging contractor bids when I'd have issue with the estimates.

Professional & Organized - Craig and Stacy are the epitome of professional. They show up on time for meetings, and do what they tell you they will do. As first time renovators with lots of questions, we were very pleased with Craig's willingness to explain things in detail.

Schedule

Schedule - Our project took longer than expected. As the homeowners making decisions, we will take partial credit for the extended timing, but there were numerous days when things wouldn't progress. I like to speculate here that because of good referrals ESD's workload was increasing greatly at that time, and perhaps they were spread a little thin. So I'm chalking it down to good things leading to a lack of resources. What renovation ends on schedule anyway, right?

Employees & Subcontractors

Employees & Subcontractors - The employees and all but one subcontractor were a pleasure to work with. They were very professional and courteous. However, we found it very difficult to work with the plumber that was subcontracted with out project (Greg). He cut corners, was not familiar with code, and just didn't seem like he wanted to be working at the house.
