We at Universal Windows are always disappointed and concerned when a customer is not satisfied with us in any way. However, if i may respond in this case, the customer signed the agreement and gave us a down payment for the windows. They were informed of their right to cancel the agreement in writing within 3 business days. Mr Wood called us 7 days later and said they changed their mind. We at that point had already ordered the custom windows. Mr wood would not give me a valid reason why he wanted to cancel, otherwise I would have been more than happy to work out a solution. Given that we had windows on order could not be used anywhere else, I was forced to keep the earnest money in lieu of the cost of the windows. By the way, the cost of the windows outweighed the earnest money. We have never had this happen before and feel bad for the Woods, but because they would not disclose a valid reason to cancel the agreement, we were forced to try to recoup our losses.
