I give John Rogers Renovations my highest recommendation.

For any friend for which project cost is not a consideration, I would definitely recommend JRR.

Areas of Satisfaction - I think they're extremely professional. They're very skilled at what they do and really exceeded expectations for what I'd expect a contractor would do. I also think they did their best in light of what everyone was going through during spring quarantine. They did good with the lack of access for us to meet together and see finishes together.

First, I will start by saying our office wall cabinets are beautiful. We had John Rogers Renovations custom build wall cabinets AND a built-in desk. With that being said, several issues did arise. John Rogers team was very responsive to addressing our issues, however modifications made on our built in desk are not ideal.

We are overall happy with the way the office wall cabinets look, however we feel that we did not get the built-in desk we wanted. We spent a lot of money on this project and in all fairness the team did try to make necessary changes to make the desk work. The desk was built too high, at almost counter height. It's just too tall for us. I am not sure if the quartz countertop measurement was overlooked but we ended up with a desk that is 33 1/4 inches tall. The average office desk height is between 28-30 inches for individuals that are 5'8" to 5'10".

The team encouraged us to purchase a chair that could be raised but leg space under the drawer became compromised and our feet couldn't touch the floor. This left us with no other option, but to convert the center drawer to a pullout for the computer keyboard and mouse. Now every time we use the computer, we have to take the keyboard out and place it on the top of the modified sliding piece of wood. We then have to remove the keyboard and place it down in the drawer to be able to close the drawer. The total overall height of the desk compromised our functionality which was the primary goal of this project. Based on standard desk and chair height, the desk should have never been built that tall. The desk was a major disappointment as it is the focal part of our room and something we need to work at everyday.
In all honesty, when the mistake was found that the height of the desk was too tall, the desk framework and quartz countertop should have been completely taken out and re-built instead of having a cheap middle drawer fix. Now we have little choice but to deal with this.

We did have scheduled meetings, but once meetings were over it is obvious that some items were lost in translation between designer, cabinet maker and foreman.

If I were to recommend John Rogers Renovations to friends and neighbors, I would ask for all meeting notes to be put in writing and I would encourage them to oversee the project rather than rely on the company as you may end up with something you didn't expect.
Mr. Rogers did not inspect the work during this timeframe either.
