I wanted to clarify two items mentioned in your comments- the cleanup process and the satellite dish.
Per your contract, roofing tear-off generates a significant amount of debris, including thousands of nails. While the crew performs a full cleanup and uses high-powered magnets, it is physically and mathematically impossible for every nail to be detected and picked up. This expectation is outlined under Preparing Your Home for Roofing Installation on page 9, which notes:
“During installation you can expect your yard to be covered with tarps… When removing your old shingles we will encounter and remove thousands of nails. It is physically and mathematically impossible for every nail to be detected and picked-up from the property. We will use high powered magnets and do our best!”
Finding a few additional nails afterward, especially after wind shifts or landscaping disturbance, can happen, and is considered normal following a roof replacement. That said, we are glad you reached out so the skylight area could be addressed.
Regarding your cable dish, the contract also explains that Valor does not remove, reinstall, or adjust satellite dishes, and that the homeowner must coordinate service with their provider. Page 9 states:
“Valor is not responsible for removal or re-installation of any… satellite dishes… Please contact your cable… company prior to install in order to arrange the R&R of these items.”
This is because satellite alignment must be performed by the provider to ensure proper signal strength and warranty compliance.

The concerns about communication, professionalism, and the appearance of the roof are taken seriously, and the goal is always to deliver a smooth and satisfactory experience from start to finish.
Regarding the comment about the architectural shingles on the front of the home, it’s important to clarify that architectural shingles do not lay flat in the same way 3-tab shingles do. Architectural shingles have a dimensional profile by design, which creates varying shadow lines and textures. This is normal and part of the intended aesthetic of the product.
To fully understand the concern about the appearance, the team requested photos of the area in question so a proper assessment could be completed. Those photos were not provided, which made it difficult to evaluate the issue or offer corrective guidance.
That said, the door remains open to reviewing the matter further. If photos can be shared, the team will gladly take another look and ensure everything meets installation standards.

Valor Home Thank you for your feedback. We did want to clarify that throughout your project, Sal and TJ always responded promptly to your communications. In fact, Sal even responded outside of normal business hours to ensure you received timely updates.
Regarding the change order, this was necessary because once the old materials were removed, we discovered that the roof had cedar shakes beneath the shingles, which required the installation of all new plywood. This is a common structural issue that cannot be identified until the roof is opened, and replacing the decking was essential to ensure the roof was installed safely and to code.

Valor Home I wanted to personally reach out regarding your recent feedback. I’m sorry we couldn’t find a resolution during our phone call, but I appreciate you giving me the time to hear your feedback and give some clarity. Just to recap our conversation:
Our estimators don’t go onto roofs during inspections due to OSHA safety regulations and insurance restrictions — we can’t legally walk a roof without proper safety anchors, which are only installed during the job. That said, we always strive to give as accurate an assessment as possible using satellite technology or ground-based inspection tools.
As for installation, Valor partners with trusted, licensed roofing crews who meet our standards for quality and professionalism — and all work is backed by Valor’s warranty and oversight.
I want to assure you that Valor Home is genuinely a veteran‑owned company committed to giving back to those who serve. Through the non-profit program Operation Raise the Roof, we also provide free roof replacements for veterans and Gold Star families each quarter, covering both materials and labor. The quality of work was excellent. I'm giving 4 stars because they didn't have the deferred payment that was advertised. I just relocated from out of state and am paying extra taxes through year's end. The deferred payment would've helped with my budget.
