While Powell Homes started four generations ago in 1909, it began for us 30 years ago in the woods behind our family home. With scraps of lumber our dad brought home from jobsites we built our dream forts; elaborate forts thirty feet high in trees with rope swings, forts with basements, and even one with a hollow log for an entrance. That early love of fort building soon translated to working on the job for our father swinging hammers and learning the home building business from the ground up. Your Home is Your Number One Asset
While we were driving to job sites dad explained what it took to create a home, not just a house. He talked about the time and energy needed to take a raw piece of land and create a lot where a home could be built for a new homeowner. He taught us that a person's home is their number one asset, and if we could help a few people each year buy a new home, then those people would reap the rewards that come with investing in a home and their community. Bringing Value to Everything We Touch
We learned what it takes to build a great home and what it takes to make Powell Homes a great place to work. It takes a daily dedication to bring value to each and every thing we touch. It takes treating every person we see each day as we would want to be treated. The personal experience we have gained from building over 350 homes since we began working for the company we pass on to our customers. We do this through consistent quality, affordability, and designs that meet our customers' desires. We have been building homes in greater Seattle neighborhoods since we were kids and we will be here for the next generation - continuing to build homes. Because we love what we do every day, it's not work, and besides, our kids need building scraps for their forts too.
We display two types of written homeowner feedback on GuildQuality member profile pages: Comments and Reviews.
In response to our customer satisfaction surveys, homeowners share lots of comments about construction quality, communication, or any other question asked in the survey. Guildmembers can selectively publish these comments here on their profile page.
Reviews are different than comments. These are star ratings that homeowners ask us to publish, and they come with a written description of the type of experience they had working with their contractor. We publish all of the reviews we receive: positive and negative alike.
