Your Home Is Everything…We Know That. Craftsmanship and building design have been family dinner table conversation for as long as Bill Handler can remember.

Dan Handler, Bill’s father, shared his daily experiences as a builder/developer of shopping centers throughout the eastern United States – and with his extensive knowledge of the construction business, Dan decided to expand his efforts into residential construction, founding GHO Homes in 1983.

In the ensuing years the company grew steadily, building projects in Sunrise, Tamarac, Delray Beach, Parkland, Jupiter, St. Lucie West, Vero Beach, Sebastian, Palm Bay, and Daytona Beach. After 17 years of growth and experience, the torch was passed when Dan Handler placed his son Bill in charge of the next generation of GHO Homes.

Bill’s credentials brought tremendous momentum to the GHO family management team. After graduating with honors from the University of Florida with a degree in Building Construction, Bill went on to earn his Law Degree from the University of Florida and is a current member of the Florida Bar Association. And as a licensed contractor, Bill was able to combine practical “hands-on” experience with the knowledge and business acumen necessary to guide the company.

While earning national recognition and awards for new home design and sales, website development and company growth, GHO Homes was acknowledged as one of the fastest growing homebuilders in the nation in 2004 and 2005. This ultimately brought GHO Homes to the attention of Woodside Homes, a national builder looking to enter the southeast Florida market and in 2005 they acquired the company, asking Bill to manage the local Woodside operation. He did so until Woodside decided to exit the Florida market and concentrate on the western U.S. market.

Bill Handler then purchased the remaining Woodside assets and restarted GHO Homes Corporation. In its current rendition, GHO Homes has continued to raise the bar for the cornerstones of its success: teamwork and efficiency, two areas of expertise that led to Bill’s creation and launch of the GHO Tailor-Made program.

The GHO Tailor-Made program allows homebuyers to customize their new homes with numerous options, built-ins and upgrades that far exceed industry standards. The GHO Tailor-Made program sets GHO Homes apart from its competitors, while we provide a wide range of plan options, including our Generations series. We regularly provide customers with a custom one-of-a-kind home, at a value balanced to their needs. We accomplish this through our unmatched teamwork, efficiency and organizational set-up. And the large number of repeat GHO homebuyers confirms that the GHO Tailor-Made program is a resounding success with our customers.
