I had a great project manager that stayed on top of everything and kept us informed while we were out of state doing the build.
All work seems to have been done very well and as promised
Except for the building revision screw ups, the quality of the build was good and the project representatives were great.
We were the victims of a house fire last year. I watched them build a house down the road. We came into their office in a state of complete shock. Candice took our ideas and customized a plan. She extracted exactly what we wanted. Ethan, the contractor, turned it into a reality. We are now in the home of our dreams in less than a year.
We had a great experience working with America's Home Place. From the initial design process to the final walkthrough, the team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. They took the time to explain options, answer questions, and keep us informed throughout the build.
The quality of the workmanship exceeded our expectations, and they were flexible when it came to customizing features to fit our needs and budget. Any issues that came up were handled quickly and professionally, which made the whole process much less stressful.
If you’re looking for a builder that offers solid construction, fair pricing, and good communication.
I would definitely recommend America’s Home Place. We’re very happy with our new home and would build with them again.
I wouldn't recommend them because they took advantage of the fact that I wasn't there when they started building
. Their craftsmanship was bad and they hired unprofessional people.
The company structure and high standards made the build flow smoothly
America’s Home Place was wonderful at designing and building our forever home. They made the process a breeze & we could not be more pleased with how it turned out!
We had the best experience. Communication is key and they did just that!
It was a good experience from start to finish.
The office in Columbia is proactive, professional, and on time builder, and the best I have ever dealt with, and I would recommend them to anyone.
I liked that they gave me time to think about and change the plans several times with no change order costs until a final plan was selected.
I’ve recommended them to several people, and one of my friends had foundation poured two weeks ago! The process was so easy and stress-free!
All around from beginning to end, the entire team was exceptional.
The house was poorly constructed and we are having trouble getting it rectified.
There were so many disappointments in this process I don't know where to begin. The two biggest of all the nonsense I encountered would be: The project was started the last week of Jan 2025 and I didn't close on it until Nov 2025, and they were not forthcoming about the reason why they weren't getting the septic installed. The excuse I was given on the septic was the guy was busy and it's the last thing that can go in so don't worry about. Finally they told me the issue was they couldn't get a quote that fit within my allowance. I asked them if they called my county because they will do all of that for the most cost effective price and they said no. I told Brent to do this but clearly the message wasn't relayed. So I ended up taking care of it, which I didn't mind doing but the problem was that I needed to put up a fence for my dogs and couldn't do that until they were done tearing up the property for the septic. Once the septic was in, I did start on the fence but shortly after it got so wet and cold out I couldn't finish it because I couldn't dig holes and set posts as the ground froze. I did end up taking advantage of the weather when it would break enough but it wasn't consistent enough to get everything done in a timely manner. Therefore, I closed on this house the very beginning of Nov and just really moved into the house a couple of weeks ago because I couldn't just leave my dogs. Had they told me in April or even the summer when they were having the quote issue I could have taken care of it earlier and had the fence up before it got cold. Other than that, the master bathtub was cracked before it was installed and instead of just replacing it they opted to just fix it. It keeps cracking in the same spot, probably due to it being a weak spot because it's in the corner and the house is settling. I have had the guy fix it twice already, and he has to come back out to do it again because it cracked again. They installed gas furnaces in April when they should have been electric and even with them being in the house working on them between the time they were installed and closing, this wasn't discovered until right before closing when they tried to find the gas lines and couldn't find them. The house sat for what I consider to be a long time before anything progressed with it early on, and the contractors were horrible. I had to have both the plumber and the HVAC companies come out to fix the hot water valve in the master bath and the secondary HVAC because no one hooked up the auxiliary heat so when it would get below 20 degrees my bedroom would not stay above 58 degrees. My driveway has some pretty severe ruts in them and I can't even get my one car down it. The person who "graded" around the house did not put the dirt up against the house to keep water from collecting and I had to ask to have it fixed multiple times. It never did get done correctly by him. He also ripped off one of my gutters and never fixed it. The plumber did not install any drains in the basement, even though he was supposed to plumb for a sink and said he was told not to even though it was part of my plan.
We would recommend with caution. We would inform them about the field line placement disaster and land prep. The work done here damaged the overall experience for us.
America’s Home Place was very easy to work with, especially after hearing how scary it is to get a house built.
There were several weeks when no work at all was done, weeks of time not scheduled well.
I’ve had a great experience with America’s Home Place, and based on the quality and service I received, I would happily recommend them to friends.
We had a great experience. America's Home Place does great work, and we appreciate what they've done for us.
The whole process was awesome. Picking the plan, making changes, choosing flooring, lights, colors, fixtures…… it was stress free.
When we entered the building at the Brunswick location, we felt welcomed and understood.
There was miscommunication between the sales associate and the promises she made and the actual builders and what they delivered.
They are much better on price and availability of models for the area that competitors in the same area
