Sales and design process were the most "fun" part
We thoroughly enjoyed the process and appreciate the continued follow ups
Easy to work with, great communication.
I have referred you multiple times already, as you are all wonderful to work with!
We picked this spot because it was out of the flood plain but AHP built the foundation up extremely high anyway. So far, we have spent over $30,000 bringing in dirt and grading it so we are able to walk around the house. AHP does not finish the lot at all. We are in our 70's and trying to step off the porches or walk around the house was dangerous. Everyone that sees the house is shocked by how the lot was left unusable.
AHP Greenville, SC has many great floor plans that you can customize to build your dream home. Move the staircase? No problem. Add 10 extra windows? Sure! Add a butler’s pantry? Done! AHP is affordable, works on a reasonable time frame, and the end result is amazing.
Communication was off when it came to where we wanted the lime stone dropped and the communication with the project manager to the subcontractor, nit great with communication
The biggest issue is with the workmanship and quality. My husband went into the attic and found soda cans, nails, nail strips, papers, and other stuff. There are also some issues we wanted addressed that were not properly taken care of, and now my faith in the process is shaken.
Painless, and rarely have I spoken to anyone who built a home and been able to say that.
Everybody that I worked with at Americas Home Place from the design to the final build was perfect. They took the time to explain everything to me and offer suggestions, I even took some of them. I could not have been happier.
I really like the transparency when it comes to pricing and expectations. We are satisfied with the quality of the home and the communication was great during the process.
Really liked sales person. There was not pressure or time frame for me to describe on my home.
The Leland/Wilmington office at all times including after build, were and are transparent, responsive, eager to please to provide a great build with great products, and craftsmanship. The Whole team involved were wonderful to work with throughout our build. All things promised exceeded our expectations. Major kudos to Mike, Sean, Emma, Tina, and others at the office for their work ethic, and eager to please customer service. Due to their expertise and hard work at all times we sure feel we found the right company, and office for our home build. No team could have provided a better experience.
Great communication and coordination. Finished the build way ahead of the expected schedule. When I noticed something wasn't quite right, they fixed it every time.
We were very pleased with the willingness that AHP showed us in regard to reworking the overall Brookwood modern farmhouse to help us create a French Country farmhouse. to better accommodate our needs.
Help me make a dream a reality!
AHP was amazing!! Denise worked with us every step of the way during design. The handoff to Michael was so smooth! 92 days from ground breaking until we got our keys!
Working with everyone there was a truly wonderful experience. I know we can be very picky, and they made sure we were happy with everything down to the smallest detail. Jordan Berry was our project manager, he made sure we were happy no matter what, anything that we wanted changed he really was our voice during the whole project. He made sure everything was done right.
Our site manager Rob kept us informed and ahead of schedule. The entire team was fantastic to work with.
The home quality is great. Was impressed with the number of house plans and the ability to change what we wanted.
We had a great experience with them. The quoted time frames for the build were correct. We actually were finished with the build in 4 months, which was great. The build process was seamless from breaking ground to giving us the keys. Everything was scheduled in great order and in a timely fashion, so there was really no downtime between disciplines out to the house. We were quoted to move in at the end of January, and they got us in two weeks before Christmas. So, we were able to spend Christmas with our three kids in our new home.
Quality not worth price point. Too many shortcuts were made.
We were pleased overall with the building process. The communication was good between us and the project manager. The fwe issues we had during the build were addressed quickly.
They had great floor plan options and worked with us on editing the floor plans to create our dream home.
Staff was very friendly the entire process.
We had a wonderful experience with the Wilmington NC branch. Our home is amazing!
The whole team at AHP in Johnson City are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and capable of helping you navigate the home building experience. They excel at communicating throughout the whole experience.
David was very easy to work with, he kept me in the loop with everything going on every day. If I had any questions or concerns he addressed them in a very timely manner.
Without hesitation, I would recommend America’s Home Place to anyone looking to build a new home.
AHP in Tallahassee, FL built a new home for me. It was an excellent experience starting with the sales process on through to delivery and post-build follow-up. The attention to detail was meticulous, the project management provided was second to none in my experience, and I have a professional background in project management. Not only was the project manager (PM) excellent, the PM process itself was excellent. That means that the support team behind the PM has to also fire on all cylinders. If the PM is great, but the support team and their processes are not, a project will falter. Every member of the AHP team involved in building my new home from sales to turn-over of the completed home also delivered excellence.
Frankly, for me, they delivered a masterclass in what quality execution and excellent product looks like. Both I and my friends and family who followed the project were happily stunned at how easy AHP made it look. I am delighted and beyond grateful. I’ll serve as a reference anytime. I don’t expect to ever have to build another house, but if I do, AHP is the only builder I will call.
Due to some quality issues and lack of resolution I’d be weary recommending to family or friends.
We’ve shown off our house to several friends who are interested in building which will hopefully transform into a new sale for AHP.
We have recently recommend AHP to someone. Last we spoke with them they were planning to use the Florence office to build
The process was very comforting and it felt like a family project with our engineer Rob he made sure we were involved and aware through the whole process and our home was finished in less than 100 days how awesome is that 😜
With our youngest approaching college age, my wife and I spent several years planning. We considered options from mobile homes through custom built architectural homes. We read hundreds, if not thousands, of reviews regarding the buying and building experience. We went into sales offices and asked questions at places like Clayton Homes, DR Horton, and local custom builders.
We decided we wanted an experience akin to a custom built home, but did not want the hassle of a general contractor and all of the minutia involved. America's Home Place had excellent reviews online. Pre-designed floor plans and limitless customization struck a perfect balance between default options and personalization. In short, America's Home Place offered everything we wanted and they promised to make it painless.
Looking back on the project, America's Home Place delivered. Any project as complex as a home build is bound to have problems arise. we were surprised how seamless and efficient the process was. The few issues that arose were quickly resolved. America's Home Place worked tirelessly ensuring we would love our new home - and we do!
We would gladly recommend America’s Home Place to anyone who asks about our building experience. Throughout the process, it was clear that they genuinely cared about making sure we were happy and took the time to address our needs to the best of their ability. Every person we worked with was kind, helpful, and truly committed to making our build a success. We are grateful for the effort and dedication they put into helping bring our home together.
I am likely to recommend America’s Home Place since I love my home.
Everyone that has seen this project go up has been astonished at the efficiency of work.
We decided to build with America's Home Place after researching their online reviews, comparing prices with similar companies, and visiting five...5... America's Home Place model centers to see the quality of work we could expect in our home. I would recommend the company (5 stars) on price per square foot, we were able to build a slightly larger house than we would have been able to with other companies. I would recommend the company on simplicity of the build process, the team ensured that we were aware of what steps were coming up next in the process from our first meeting with sales to our work with the warranty team. I am unable to give the company a Very Likely to recommend/ 5 star review because the quality of the home we are currently in is not and will never be what we viewed in the dozen + models we toured.
During foundation and framing the project ran smoothly. When finish work began we began seeing items that were not completed to the standards that we had seen in the model homes. We regularly visited the build site and pointed out items of concern as soon as they were noted. Many of these items were corrected but several items became a point of contention between the build team and my husband and I. When it became obvious that I was not satisfied with the build we received a visit from Josh Titus. Josh utilized his boxed "conflict resolution" strategies to attempt to appease us, based on how Josh treated my husband and I, I can only assume he was assigned the "bad cop" role to balance the very kind, accommodating personality of our project manager. When we continued to push the issues Josh informed us that items, "were not outside of their standards". This was shocking as the "standards" we expected were what we witnessed at the model centers, why was our home not as important to America's Home Place? We finally signed off on construction and moved in when it became clear our concerns were falling on deaf ears.
The warranty team is currently attempting to correct some of the items that were debated during construction. With that being said there is only so much the warranty manager, Terry Meng, can take on. The smaller items: missing screws in porch pickets, doors that weren't painted evenly, etc were simple fixes that have been corrected. We will still be left with bent/ uneven flashing on multiple areas on our roofline that were pointed out during construction and were promptly passed off as "normal oil canning" by Mr. Titus. We will be left with flashing on our front porch (the main feature of the floor plan we chose) that overlaps with large gaps facing the front door despite the warranty team's attempts to better the look of the gaps by caulking them. To properly correct this the flashing would have to be replaced (simple enough when it was pointed out during construction but complicated now that all the siding is on the porch).
If you choose to build with America's Home Place it is possible to have a beautiful end result for a decent price but you must go to bat for what you need before you sign that final construction check list. Don't take, "it's not outside of our standards/ tolerance" as an excuse for mediocre work. A "fix" on the back end is not the same as having it done right the first time.
The entire experience from start to finish was very easy. The entire team was great to work with and I developed a good sense of trust in their abilities to design and complete my home as agreed upon. The communication along the way was great. They have quite a few different models to choose from as well.
First time doing a new build and I was ready for setbacks and overages which is what I've always hears thru the years. That was not happened with my build. Came in quicker than the original move in date and pretty much on budget. Totally satisfied !
Great quality and communication
They build quality in short time
Excellent communication, very good quality and attention to detail. They really make you feel welcome not just another customer or client.
I loved working with Heather in the Columbia office. She was very helpful and knowledgeable when we started the process and up until our final selections were made.
We worked with Frankie on the construction side and he was great to work with. He sent weekly updates as to what was going on with the house. Any concerns or questions I had, Frankie would always get me an answer. After we moved in, I was still able to call him and he was always willing to help. He went above and beyond to get the front porch like I wanted.
Our house was built in less than and year and it is absolutely gorgeous and very well built.
God is good. I prayed for this home. My neighbors were in the home building process when a hurricane hit. I watched America's Home Place build my neighbor's home, and it didn't take long. My husband said we can go and build a home, so I chose America's Home Place after watching them build my neighbor's home. They kept me informed throughout the process. I loved that they said what they'd do and they did. I was able to get into my house quickly. I'm blessed. If the lord blesses me with more money, I'll build another home with America's Home Place.
The entire process was smooth, simple and easy to follow. Being our first home and our first build, answers were available and there were not any secrets. Very open communication.
We highly recommend people to stay far away from AHP. From start to finish, the entire project was an absolute nightmare. My husband and I felt like we were living in a twilight zone for almost a year. In short, from being lied to in the office and at our final review to get our business, our roof leaking and not being fixed for weeks and ruining our subfloors, workers drinking on the job and leaving food in the house to let ants start infesting, walls being so crooked that everything is literally uneven and messed up we can’t put anything on the walls without the wall getting messed up or something looks crooked because nothing is straight, the siding owner taking siding out of the dirty dumpster and putting it on our brand new house and showing the worker to do the same (I have videos) and still not completing it correctly after coming out the FOURTH time (it’s still not correct to this day), the manager Tracy Boner being so disrespectful and unprofessional that I can’t even believe he is still employed with this company, the tile guy completely ruining our shower that it had to be torn out and then he never showed back up to redo it (well he did, then he left and never came back, no one ever knew until we told our PM) so our home build took 2 months longer than what it should have and we had to pay for it literally and figuratively, the drywall people using thinner drywall than what they should have and coming at 5am the next day to try and cover it up with drywall mud, the project manager doesn’t do anything except for show up maybe once a week to pop his head in to snap a photo so he can send you an email at the end of the week to make you feel like he’s doing something, there is A WHOLE LOT more but I’m not getting paid to write a book so please do yourself a favor and find a company who actually cares about their customers and do what they say. AHP is not a good company. They just want your money and they hire the absolute worst workers for pennies on the dollar to fatten their own selfish pockets. They don’t care about their customers or their satisfaction like the website or the CEO’s slogan says. It is all lies as I got to be on site every day watching it get built with my own eyes. I hate our home and the people that built it as I feel it’s just going to fall apart in one year after seeing how crappy it was put together and no one was here to ever look at things to make sure they were right. I wish more than anything we would have went with a different builder and I hope this review helps someone make that decision so they don’t live in a nightmare like we did for one year with AHP. AHP is building show homes right down the road from us and I’m eager to spread the word about our experience with this company who put us through so much pain and suffering because I would HATE for anyone to go through what we went through with them and if I can help just one person I would love that.
Received a good product at a reasonable price.
AHP was a great company to work with. We were first time home builders so we needed a lot of guidance. AHP was with us all the way. With AHP we got the home of our dreams (And they even came in under budget!!!)
We felt that the process was pretty straightforward and smooth.
