My experience building with America’s Home Place was very positive. This was my first time building a home, and I appreciated the guidance I received throughout the process.

Several people played important roles in making the experience a good one.

Tyler Garvin was especially helpful in guiding me through the preparation of the lot and clearly explaining what needed to be completed before construction could begin as well as the tradeoffs for some of the items we elected to self-serve. Heather Entry kept the planning and selection process flowing smoothly, processed requests efficiently, and was flexible whenever changes were needed. Tony was a great resource in reviewing final specs and making tweaks to optimize the home build process. The Columbia office team (Christi) was also responsive and helpful whenever I needed assistance or answers and I appreciated AHP’s flexibility in allowing me to customize the Oxford Modern Farmhouse plan. The home was completed on schedule, and I am very pleased with the finished result.

Colby Farar did an excellent job as the project manager. He kept me informed with detailed and consistent updates, answered questions, and explained what was happening at each stage of the build. A few vendor items took longer than expected to complete, but Colby remained responsive and continued following up with them and me until everything was addressed.

I would build with America’s Home Place again and would recommend them to someone considering building a home.

From start to finish it was an all around great experience.

The trades were MIA for weeks which kept delaying our closing. The finishing work was terrible and we are still dealing with plumbing issues

Everyone has been very knowledgeable, courteous, and informative. This made for a smooth building process from start to finish.

Our building process was very stressful. AHP did not accurately estimate the site work costs, or the actual height of the crawl space needed, nor did they accurately assess the slope and drainage requirements at the home site so that our budget was accurate. This led to our budget going way over to be able to complete the project due the increased grading and foundation costs. Additionally, the two graders that AHP used/recommended caused us major problems and our grading and gutter work turned out to be a mess. We spent tens of thousands of dollars on grading work that failed and did not stay secure in the weather and 4 months after moving in we still have gutters that do not flow and backup at the foundation due to extremely poor quality gutter drain installation. During the build AHP left the full burden of dealing with the grader on us and did not step in to help when the work done failed. The grading situation caused us and continues to cause us enourmous stress, we lost thousands of dollars and still have a mess of a property that continues to get further destroyed in every rain storm due to the terrible quality work of the grader(s).

Yes. I feel it was the easiest process as I have built a home before. The turn around time was amazing.

I would recommend people check out the house layouts and speak with the company. Overall we are satisfied with the home we built. We were told 5 month and it took 7 due to some mistakes on their end that cost time. When looking at the floor plans take your time and don’t be rushed into locking into one. Look at every detail because they aren’t that helpful with going through the flow of things. The interior design phase is fun but gets overwhelming. Take breaks if you need to so that each decision is fresh. They do charge you $200 to make any changes after the start so make sure you are happy before that.

The easiness of the initial interaction allows for the customer to feel more in control of what is happening. The thoughtfulness of the employees from start to finish leaves you with little questions to ask.

The whole process was painless and seemed very well put together. Our sales rep was easily reachable by telephone or email. A very simple way to build.

Everyone was extremely helpful when it came to the build process. You could always get in touch with someone in the office with any concerns. Our project manager Aaron was absolutely amazing. He definitely went above and beyond. Extremely personable and really cared about our family.
