The stress of building comes with any contractor. Manuel made this build as simple as possible in my opinion.
There were several instances where I had to express concerns to the owners. The work done on my home was sub-par. When we moved in, we had to caulk the shower door because water was escaping from the shower. We still have cracks in the sheetrock in the garage, and the concrete has already cracked (literally in 4 squares) in the garage. The paint is a joke. We are still finding areas that were not fully painted on the cabinets in the kitchen and the the master bathroom. We are still getting paint spatters off of the flooring because the floors were not covered when the home was painted. Our home was supposed to be completed in July; however, we did not move in until September! Subcontractors were using the bathrooms in the home and leaving feces in the toilets! From the beginning, I informed the first project manager that the window sash in my dining room needed attention. He shrugged it off. When we moved in and the window company finally sent a representative, it was noted that 3 other windows needed to be adjusted. The window above my tub needed to be addressed also. I just feel like we were (1) put on the back-burner because of the lack of work that would (or rather would not) take place on our property (2) if they did do work, it was sloppy and often times had to be redone (3) given the most inexperienced subcontractors or day workers (4) not taken seriously when we had issues or concerns. There were time when I literally would cry when we would pull up to our home
While I am 90% happy with my home the subcontractors they have utilized in parts of the home, specifically painting and plumbing, have been less than stellar.
I have owned the house for two months, and there are problems that still are not fixed.
Poor communication. Poor project management. Project not completed in a timely manner.
I would recommend Manuel Builder's because of the ease of the process. From our building consultant (Wendy Ritz), our design coordinator (Toni Hebert), and especially our project manager (Jason Duplichain) were all great! The house that was built is beautiful and we get compliments all the time.
I already did. Natascha and Keefe Carney. The building process was easy and stress free. I just wish that things on the punch list were completed and completed the correct way. I found it a little difficult to have issues fixed/addressed and have them fixed the correct way.
They had excellent service and the people were knowledgeable and just super!
Paint job and sheetrock are awful. Patch jobs didn't hold and need to be repair. Nearly every appliance is giving me issues. When I put in for work orders the people sent out basically tell me I don't know what I am talking about and those things are normal, when I know they are not. I have a window that was broken between my final walk through and me signing the papers and it still is cracked and hasn't been repaired.
As a single women that has never built a home, I would highly recommend Manuel builders for their guidance and ease in acquiring a home.
We had a very good experience. They worked with us and were amazing. Everything was to perfection. I'd like to give the biggest kudos to our project manager Brad Anderson. He was the best. This is the second home I've had built with them. My first experience with them was good and the second experience was even better.
Very easy to work with throughout the building process. End product meets our expectations.
They don't meet deadlines, and make excuses regarding follow-up.
We wouldn't recommend them because their work quality is extremely sloppy.
It is up to the company to post my comments publicly, but I want to remain anonymous. The communication was poor. There were a lot of mistakes made. I am very dissatisfied. My picknick table was smashed, and it was not replaced. I have a closet door that still needs to be changed. Granite tops were installed that I did not consent to.
I was unsatisfied with the work performed by the initial crew. I had to fire the crew twice due to the lack of workmanship not being done right the first time.
There have been many, many things that have been positive. There are a few things that have been negative. So, I am not sure I can confidently recommend this builder moving forward.
They treated me very good and do great work.
Their service is great, they have high quality materials, and they have a lot of choices. I had zero complaints. They were excellent!
The communication is very poor. There were major corners cut prior and after close of the home. Our home flooded due to faulty plumbing after two weeks of moving in. It's been three weeks and nothing has been resolved. During the build of home a worker ran into the home with a vehicle - that resulted in bricks coming off the home and steel plates shifting above the garage; in which none of this was disclosed to us. Also, during the construction of the home animals were allowed into the home after the carpet had been laid. The entire home interior was painted the wrong color. Manuel Builders would not release any inspection reports that were done on the home to us. The punchlist items were never completed
Communication was extremely poor throughout the entire build. Our PM, Aaron, was dismissive about many of the concerns we are now encountering post-closing that we were told were not important. We just expected more from a company with an excellent reputation like Manuel Builders.
The experience has possibly changed since October. My realtor and I had difficulty getting in touch with anyone at Manuel Builders and on the day of the contract meeting, I felt rushed to make decisions.
Courteous and professional
I’m new to the area but the homes I did see I definitely would pick the Manuel floor plans.
Know what you are getting into. If you like to be involved in the build then they aren’t for you. If you like to sit back and let it take its course then they are ok.
