Project manager should have been more involved with home owner and better inspections.
America's Home Place has a team of staff committed to delivering family's their dream homes. Our project manager (Gerry) treated our home build as if it was his home, paying attention to details we identified, and also calling out things to consider. The convenience of having America's Home Place (Gerry) coordinate every aspect is why we recommend AHP to others.
The finished product is very good but the stress increased significantly while having to constantly micromanage to make sure the finished product was good. If we had more oversight on plans it would have been really helpful. We understand the sub contractors do their end of the job, but ultimately that falls back on the project manager and attention to detail. We would definitely recommend but we would also say you need to be on top of your PM. When mistakes are made, negotiating to split or trying to convince us it was ok was something that was unsettling. We understand we have a lot lore land than your average customer but you need to do your homework because we paid $21k out of pocket within 24 hours because the electric company was threatening to cut off our power. Stuff like that is why we can’t give five stars but also still respect and love the finished product.
Due to the issues that arises and continue to have not satisfied
No hesitation to say yes. Move all the walls, take a call, recommend a contractor for projects after the build, stay after hours, find products not on option list or showroom (five panel doors), fix issues. There was no hesitation to talk, schedule, or fix anything we mentioned.
The level of interaction was excellent.
I will recommend America’s Home Place to anyone looking to build a home. If I had to do it over again I would make the same choice too.
We watched the entire process. The sub contractors (immigrants) didn't care. They were always in a rush, left trash all over the yard and inside the house, had to redo things multiple times, put cigarettes out on the wood floor once it was installed, and left alcohol (beer cans) on the property several times. They didn't wear safety equipment, EVER, and they had their kids working on things as well.
Speedy completion without sacrificing quality
The customer service level was amazing. The teams attention to detail and professionalism was outstanding.
They did a great job.
We really liked the fact that you did not nickle and dime us to death like other companies had that we talked to. We felt like you wanted to build the best custom house for us.
The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They have vast experience with home building and work diligently to understand your wants and needs. They are creative and innovative to make your dream home a reality.
The process and experience was highly personalized. The contractor cares about quality and providing 5 star service.
They were very professional. Always available. Pleasure to work with
We love our new home and would definitely recommend AHP in fact, our friends in Ohio just built with AHP based on our experience and seeing our home.
Value of the home, option, multiple floorplans, and option for turnkey package would all be recommendable.
I have already recommended them to my sister-in-law.
It was an easy and enjoyable process.
Everything was super easy from start to finish. AHP stood behind every decision, craftsmanship and sub-contractor.
Overall it was a great experience. One the build was started, they were very attentive and moved quickly, as we had a tight personal timeline. They were responsive with any issues we brought up once we moved in.
Shawna and the whole team were excellent from beginning to end of our build. Always there to answer questions and fix any issues we might have had which were not many.
Building our home with America’s Home Place was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. From the very first meeting, we could tell their team truly cared about helping us create the home we could only dream about.
I really love there attention to detail when I told what I was looking for and what I needed.
Just a few things like being told something is code then find out it’s not code. Didn’t like paying for a specific size bonus room, then finding out it’s 100 square feet smaller. Had to argue to get our granite fixed the way we wanted it fixed. Our front porch stairs still have not been stained as promised. Had to argue to get our fireplace fixed the way it was supposed to be made in the first place, and it still isn’t the one we picked out, but it’s still beautiful. Was not very pleased with the light choices or the granite choices. They need to be updated to today’s style, and it’s very frustrating how so very much more an upgrade is.
