Many issues, communication was not good, things not completed as expected, etc...
Our house was built in Florida, and we lived in Alabama at the time of the build. We weren't on site very often to see what was going on. America’s Home Place was very thorough in giving us weekly updates. It all went very smoothly. We did have a contractor change during the build. We were a little worried about the transition, but the new contractor just picked right up and moved forward.
I had a great relationship with Mr. Ted. He is the home coordinator or building supervisor. He was definitely there for me all the way.
America's Home Place was really professional. They communicated, providing information to the client in a good manner. Everything was really good.
From start to finish, America's Home Place filled every hope we had and exceeded all expectations.
Me and my company relocated to South Carolina and were really excited to build with America's Home Place. We had agreement with them to build 9 homes with other employees of my company. The process was nice at first and then became a real headache and exhausting for all of us!
It takes the worry out from having to line up people. It's hard to get people to do things nowadays and I didn't have that worry. That's one reason I went with them. It does take a lot of the hassle out.
Sales process was the worst I have ever had to deal with.
Most of the experience was good. Too many times seemed like a money grab. Some qualities workmanship issues. Had to manage the actual builders too much.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience. The design team and meeting took so much stress out of the experience. Knowledgable and could answer every question we had. We had two project managers during the course of the experience (one was promoted but still stayed on as a point of contact for us) and had a wonderful experience with both. Our trim and finish team was amazing!! We had a few small issues here and there (to be expected in any build) but they were minor and handled professionally and quickly with zero complaints from us. We had a question about two months after closing out and they sent the warranty contact out immediately and he was excellent also. The office staff needs a shout out as well because they handled the money end with zero issues for us. I could go on and on about everything we loved about the experience. I recommend AHP to everyone who asks.
America's Home Place pricing was well within reason with a spectacular timeframe. The quality was above average.
Overall design and construction process was disappointing. New house design and build process is very overwhelming for most people and more assistance would have been appreciated. Regarding construction, subcontractors are under qualified and this is reflected in the final product. AHP charges an 18% project management fee, but does not sufficiently monitor the subcontractor work. Three months into owning this house and we are still finding new areas where sloppy work was performed.
Everyone was very helpful especially Denise Nieves. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. We couldn't have made all the decisions about every detail without her input. Michael.Locke was a dream to work with. He was on top of every aspect of our new home build. Latonya was on top of all the permits, getting them all to the Jackson County officials. Wayne was helpful with any questions we had.
AHP was very responsive to our needs.
I really enjoyed working with American's Home Place Rocky Mount. Feroza, Nick, and Christine are great at their jobs. And I have, in fact, recommended AHP to several people. The reason for the 4/5 stars is that the quality of some of the subcontractor's work was less than par.
This company is amazing! Our project manager, Alex, and Tony were super helpful and cooperative. They were just always ready to listen or make any change orders necessary. They were go-getters as far as getting our house finished quickly.
Unfortunately, the build process did not go very smoothly at all. Granted, the team was able to get over obstacles, but a lot of them were avoidable or could have taken a lot less time to solve. I feel there was often a problem with communication. The subs were almost all unreliable and most did sub par work. Overall everyone was very friendly in the office but unfortunately the build process was far too stressful and drawn out for me to recommend this company to anyone.
The entire team was extremely professional, and the quality of the work was top-notch. We were building 500 miles from home and we never felt anxious or worried that things weren’t going well. We were always kept apprised of where they were in the build process and were able to see what was going on with our home at any time.
AHP was knowledgeable, easy, and accurate. There were no giant overage charges or the fears that the cost would be exorbitant and beyond what we agreed. They arrived when they said, worked when it was possible, and had few time delays. They fixed any minor mistakes we found and made us aware of large corrections to make our home more sound.
Very professional staff and they go the extra mile to make sure your home is what you can imagen it to be.
The process was clear and smooth. The staff was exceptional.
We have already two referrals in progress
Work crew were great.
I recommend America Home Place to a lot of people.
Our project manager was great.
We built our retirement house 5 states away from our residence. David scheduled & ran the work great, in spite of our site being outside the Chattanooga office’s normal build zone.
Scheduling - We were fortunate to have no weather delays in spite of the annual rainfall experienced in our region ((55” yr on avg). Good management & scheduling allowed home to be completed ahead of schedule.
Two Favorite Features - -The open concept Great room/dining room with atrium root out onto the deck provides for views out front & back from the great room. -Master bath is awesome with the deep soaking tub and 5x5 (cavernous) shower with twin shower heads.
