The process was handled quickly and efficiently
Very easy to work with from start to finish.
From Sales to our Superintendent (Carlos)
Our experience with AHP couldn't be any better
The employees being responsive made the process seem smooth.
I don't trust America's Home Place
We really liked the choice of floor plans and the flexibility to customize the plans to our own needs. We also liked the opportunity to pick out all of the interior and exterior details in one place, with samples to actually be able to see. The fact that we did not have to be on site to make sure that crews showed up and the project managers handled all the details was great! In the house is completed two months ahead of schedule. We were very satisfied with the fit and finish as well as the follow up with the first punchlist and completion. Would highly recommend!
I was impressed with how fast everything moved. They care about making the customer satisfied and help you through every step. Especially helpful if you’re a first time home buyer.
Did a great job
We like the ease of the experience.
garages are not the same level, siding broken, counters not the same height, interior paint not finished, tile in bathrm needs completly redone, dirt and concrete left piled right in front of house, chrged for survey and generator i believe the survey was never done there no markers reflecting it ,everytime i tried to say something about the workmanship nothing was ever done or the builder would say they could fix it but it was at my cost, dont have the time or money to fight you in court or i would, your a horriable company that uses substandard contractors and expects the customer to pay for everything thats wrong all while advertising your a one stop shop for your custom dream home.WHAT A JOKE
From the beginning to the end of the process, we provided our vision and they made it happen. There was no concern over who would do what. They left nothing on our plate! We felt confident that they would give us all the we wanted and they did just that!
The plumbers and electricians should probably be vetted better
Americas Home Place made the experience as easy and stress free as possible. They have a great selection of house plans to choose from and modify, they use quality materials and subcontractors, and I always had someone available for my questions or concerns.
We liked their willingness to modify their house plans to accommodate our desires
While I do love my home, the process to get here was painful. As a public figure and mental health advocate, I expected professionalism and respect—I experienced moments of being heard, but far too many of being dismissed. Micro-aggressions, poor workmanship, and a lack of accountability left me emotionally drained. This journey left scars that will take years to heal. I share my full truth—not just the finished product, but the cost it took to get there.
Lots of floor plans to choose from and very easy to customize
From begging to the end everyone was terrific. If there was something we didn't understand it was explained or corrected.
The Monroe NC office personnel and team started off great and after losing Tim Rogers, there was a lack of communication, direction, tact, and respect from Steve Kersteiner. He showed a lack of integrity and interest in our valid concerns and was very dismissive throughout the entire construction process going back and forth with us regarding real concerns and issues that prompted us to lean towards seeking legal action and assistance. Real training & discipline is needed and necessary for this particular PM. He also admitted to not following AHP’s policies and guidelines as if he works for himself. I hope your company takes a closer look into your hires prior to starting an important position and having a negative impact on the outcome of your business and reputation.
AHC was easy to work with and fast, while still feeling like it was quality work.
It was very stress free. Our project manager and the office staff were very friendly and responsive.
AHP has a great approach to financing with them carrying all costs until construction closing. Very happy with the final product.
The communication needs to be improved.
The house is excellent, as is the quality. I am very happy with the house. I personally should have done more research about the contractors first, but that's on me. They did a very good job, especially in a time when this area was hit by a hurricane. They were dealing with that as well.
We liked how Melissa helped us find and design a home just for us!
Everyone was so nice and very helpful.
AHP is very easy to work with. Communication is top notch.
We have loved our new home. The quality is great and the customer service with AHP has been great as well. We have already recommended AHP to some friends and family.
America's Home Place was very easy to work with. All staff was very friendly and helpful.
America's Home Place staff is very personable. They paid attention to our needs and concerns. Anything that came up, they were there to remedy the situation.
Yes we would do so but we would share the pros and cons of our experince.
Our build process was wonderful. Chris and Matt kept us up to date regularly on the progress.
Despite our race, the team showed great respect and concerns in helping us build from start to finish.
We love our house, the whole process was extremely streamlined and made the build very smooth.
We were guided every step of the way. From sales to construction to completion.
The whole process from in office meetings to on site meetings to the finished product! My wife and I are very happy with our home!
We felt the early sales interaction didn't offer much value toward truly customizing our floor plan and other options to give a comprehensive overall design. Any changes made were at our direction without much inspiration from the sales folks. During several points the process seemed disjointed:
For example, we noticed after "final" review that there was no option in the plans for outside ducting the Over the Range microwave. When we asked about this it resulted in a change order costing us $1,100 out of pocket for something that wasn't even brought up as an option in the few design interactions we had. Further, I explained to Jim that we needed a 4x10 duct in the rear wall for an OTR with 6" duct in the joist space vented outside, and he refused to understand this and asserted that we would either need custom cabinetry or additional framing depth to accommodate a 6" round duct inside the wall. The HVAC contractor understood immediately what I needed during rough-in and built precisely what I had communicated to Jim in the first place.
After closing and move-in, our project manager asked why we didn't have a full granite backsplash behind our slide-in range and whether AHP knew we were planning on purchasing a slide-in versus a freestanding range. I answered simply: No one during the design process asked us.
We opted not to build the optional garage on our Hill V and we were told this would require a custom porch off what would have been the garage hallway door on the left elevation. The posts on this porch are 6x6 no. 2 PT, when the front porch posts are 4x4 nicely wrapped with exterior painted trim. This creates a strange appearance from the street since all other aspects visually match. No one brought this to our attention during design so we could make an educated decision about the final appearance. No one asked us.
We chose a shaker appearance for the interior doors. The vendor (Therma-Tru) used for exterior doors offers a shaker appearance that would have brought the interior and exterior door appearances together. No one asked us.
The side porch exterior door that would have led to the optional garage is a six-panel solid garage-type door. Some additional light would be nice in this hallway, but since we opted not to have the garage, additional door options were not presented to us for possible change. No one asked us.
My experience was wonderful from start to finish. I worked with James on redesigning the house. He had a lot of patience with me. Eric was in constant communication with us and listened to us when we had things that needed to be adjusted. Lowell was great, too. They were all professional and cared about giving us the house that we wanted.
I would very much recommend them.
When they poured our foundation, it was raining, and I told them not to do that. I've done concrete for 30 years. It created a cold spot in the foundation, which has caused multiple cracks. They refused to do anything about it. I came to the job site during construction, and the project manager did nothing about it even after I asked them to stop.
I’m sure this was a one off, but putting someone with no experience and people skills managing the construction was not a great experience.
The bright spot was Justin completing the build or it would have been a lower score
The plumber isn't good. Everything else is great.
Although my wife & I are relatively new to the lowcountry, I would recommend AHP to anyone considering constructing a home. AHP was very thorough and did their best to walk us through the process.
They were upfront and answered all questions. They were truly a pleasure to work with. Efficient and responsive to our needs. Made great and credible recommendations.
From day one the Fredericksburg Team was professional, had a plan, listened to our needs and then made a plan that was executable and within cost & schedule.
Very easy to talk to, and friendly
They was able to make building a home a possibility for us, from the planning stage to the building stage to the final walk through they made sure it was what we wanted and made sure it was done right. If anything was wrong they made sure it was fixed no questions asked.
10000%
Excellent communication throughout the build process.
My experience was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. EVERY AHP Oxford employee listened carefully, gave welcomed, expert advice, exhibited a high degree of professionalism, was kind and left me with peace of mind.
I can't say enough good things about America's Home Place! This is my first ground-to-roof home, and America's Home Place did everything right! I love this company!
