Personal service from everyone at every step of the journey of building a home.
I had a wonderful experience with this entire process! I have recommended AHP to a few people already and will continue to do so. They did a great job and were a pleasure to work with.
We were hesitant to leave a review because we still have a year for the house to settle and have those things taken care of. The plan was to wait to give a review until the entire lifecycle of the build was complete. To sum up our experience I will go back to the first interaction I had with Americas home place. I did my research, hounded my husband about how I felt this is the company we need to build with, watched every YouTube video on repeat, and decided to reach out. We were EST at the time and this office was CST. The rep never said so I assumed CST. I got the email confirming my phone appointment, but a call never came. I ended up calling trying to determine if there was confusion. When I finally spoke to the sales manager about it she said “I didn’t know what time zone either so I just didn’t call.” At that moment, having managed a sales team that consistently hit goals at least 10x annually what Americas Home Place does I was appalled that some sort of communication wasn’t attempted to clarify for the best customer experience. I try to give people grace and move past it, as we ultimately did build with this office, but a series of events just getting to breaking ground had me multiple times wanting to pull out altogether. Our free consultation came with a 1500$ deposit. We couldn’t even get a true dollar and cents figure to see if this made sense for us without giving 1500$. We were rushed when we wanted to wait because “increases” were coming if we didn’t sign that day. Note the prices actually decreased around the time we originally wanted to sign and incentives were offered which we were told by the sales manager that these were introductory prices so there would be no incentives offered until prices went up. Ultimately I would say it was just a level of professionalism that I had expected that did not come and to do it all over again we would not build with Americas home place. We know others had a great experience with that office which made us wonder what was it about us that made them not want to treat us the same…I don’t know. However, what I learned early on is that if she is talking about other clients to us (and not in a favorable manor), then she is probably talking about us to other clients and that was enough for me to know I needed to be careful and read and reread everything and let them think I didn’t know anything because time and time again I caught their mistakes. The build process itself was fine. The guys were great. Some of the contractors were awesome, it wasn’t until the end that things got a little wonky again. Massive dirt piles were left, a handle on a kitchen drawer was never reattached because he “didn’t have the right size screw”. We still don’t have the handle on btw lol. The front door was cut wrong so they cut in the latch but now there is a gap in the insulation so our energy bill has been a pain and bugs get in through it. Have to figure that out. Things we were told were not honored because it was not in writing, yet things in the contract were also almost not honored but we had to get copies of their documents, zoom in, circle, and prove it’s in there and instead of accepting responsibility for their error it was “I decided to make an executive decision”. No you should be apologizing for the mix up and do what is right. It’s not an executive decision. To fight over which way a door is swinging is kind of ridiculous. Especially when it is in the contract and not our mess up. It’s always someone else’s fault with them. Being scolded practically about change orders even though all but 1 were due to their mistakes. And the other was for closing costs and I didn’t even know it was happening until I got the email to sign it. It was all done with the sales manager and our lender. I don’t want to be harsh. I don’t want to be unreasonable. I really wanted to be level because this isn’t even everything. And I wanted to give them grace, yet seeing how we spent a lot of money and this is how our experience was, we want to be honest so people can make a complete educated decision. I mean our stuff was damaged by their contractor and they tried to say it just happened on its own and wanted to fight about that instead of just doing the right thing. It’s all just so disheartening. The project manager and assistant project manager were awesome though. Landon and Mitchell were great. Ultimately, we would refer people to AHP but not that office.
The entire process was smooth, professional and stress free.
We would recommend AHP based on ya’ll being a largely fixed cost builder and the ability to customize most everything. AHP is a great split between efficiency (cost effective) and customization.
I liked the customer service, the quality of the work and the understanding.
Would recommend AHP to others. The process was mostly smooth.
Exceptional customer service. From the start to finish this was an excellent experience.
Excellent service!
Yes I would recommend
America’s Home Place has been great to do business with.
AHP was so easy to work with when planning to build our home and throughout the entire build process!
The expedited process of the build. We didn't have to be concerned about who was doing what. All costs are upfront and no unexpected costs.
As their inaugural clients, we were greeted with exceptional warmth upon entering their office. Our excitement was evident, and in return, they generously offered us a truly unique custom home. However, over time, our experience changed. When we began to ask questions about the quality of the project’s craftsmanship, the responses we received grew noticeably terse and uncertain, and our requests were often left unaddressed. In addition, we encountered significant delays whenever we sought modifications to the construction process, which made the experience increasingly frustrating.
Absolutely amazing from start to finish.
Price points- there is something for everyone. Staff gives reasonable suggesstions and points to consider. Staff is not pushy and allows customers to make their own decisions.
Very easy to work with and very professional and friendly.
Very customer oriented and listen to what the customer wants
Very flexible in design process and great communication.
The amount of money we have lost due to poor craftsmanship is an absolute nightmare. A front door that was made incorrectly and did not seal allowed pests to infest the home and warm air to escape all winter costing us 100’s if not 1,000’s of dollars. Our driveway was so poorly done and graded improperly we also have to fix this if we want guests to visit us. Our well was put on the side of the house with septic, and not where we requested at all causing us to spend $7,500 on a water filtration system so our water did not smell of complete crap. The floors trap every speck of dirt and are poor quality already bowing and creaking. Many doors have had to be replaced due to improper latching and them flying open… we have pets and a three year old. This has been the absolute worst experience imaginable. We hate our home.
The Katy office was amazing.
Yes, I would highly recommend Americas Home Place to build your home! I do express my happiness to family members and friends that have talked about building in the future.
While I think the overall process went well, all things considered, there are opportunities when it comes to quality assurance.
Flaws in the build. Lack of communication with company. Sent an email about some issues 2 weeks ago, and still no response.
Choosing to build is overwhelming. AHP made it clear cut and easy for us to navigate building.
