Communication from GM was poor. Two project managers either quit or were terminated during my build. The third PM Billy did a good job. He inherited a mess however. The build took twice as long as originally projected. Which I understand some things are out of your control but the lack of communication just made matters worse. The reason I will not be referring your company to anybody else is due to the fact that I was blindsided with a bill for over $25,000 at the very end of the project. I was never notified of any of the extra costs until the week before the house was finished. They conceded the cost down to about $13,000 but that is still a huge amount when you’re not expecting it. I am also still waiting on a replacement oven and window 3 months after the house being finished.
I am waiting to see how my son and daughter-in-law’s build finishes before I decide on recommendations. Hopefully, things will be smoother for them with Rick Schell as their PM and AHP having some lessons learned about building in a Covid world
Over all I wasn’t pleased. We could only afford one of the simplest floor plans. I guess you get what you pay for.
From start to finish, this was an easy process. The best feature over all was being able modify the blueprint to accommodate my wife's Sewing Room & Quitting machine. We were able to add the outlets needed to operate all of the machines she has. We had to order special lights and that was never an issue.
Went downhill as soon as I met Ryan for my PM
It took 10 months to move us in and after living here 3 months the house is still not complete with a lot of problems that are still not corrected
The team at Americas Home Place Pooler made our home building experience as easy as possible. We were so glad we could customize our floor plan. Janna, Anna, Austin and Sally were all amazing and I am so glad we chose to work with them. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!
America's home place was absolutely terrible!!!
We decided to build 2 homes on our property. America's Home Place built my son's home. I am using another builder for my home. America's Home Place has completed a beautiful home for my son. With supply chain issues it was slowed down a little. Our project manager O'Neal Harris did a great job with these challenges.
My son's home has some very nice finishes. He was able to customize it exactly how he wanted it. It was great to lock in a price and not worry about inflation. The people that work for America's Home Place are very professional, honest, and really care about helping you get the right home. I had positive experiences with every single person I dealt with.
Denise was fantastic with helping us finalize the house plans. Her co-worker would help us if she wasn't in. Tori was very helpful in getting the paperwork for building completed. She also suggested some beautiful tile that really made the kitchen gorgeous. O'Neal Harris was always respectful and willing to answer questions. His boss Wayne was also willing to answer any questions.
When you are ready to move in, the project manager walks you through your home. He gives helpful maintenance tips, which is a bonus. They also have a warranty. I have build 3 homes now, and sometimes an issue will come up. Having the warranty, and an employee dedicated to these issues gives me peace of mind.
My biggest regret: that I did not use America's Home place for my home.
We love our new home built by America's Home Place in Calhoun and highly recommend them.
Be patient and trust them. There will be a few normal construction hiccups but they will build you a quality home.
We were very satisfied with the end product but the process was very stressful.
Our overall experience was positive. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. AHP does their best to keep the building process on track and communicates with you throughout the whole build from start to finish. The only reason we didn’t give a 5 star is for selection choices. Would have been nice to have been offered more selection choices or go to another facility to make your selections.
It was a fast and easy process.
This is the third house we have built and I believe we received more guidance in the planning stages of the process than ever before. When you get the planning right you are more likely to be happy with the results.
There was no stress in building our second house with them.
Quality, timelines, and finishing work that has been messed up.
I had a slow start with the building of my new house and the project manager changed 3 times so communication wasn’t good . Once Jeff took over my house it was great ! Only wish I had him from the start !
They worked real close with me to get what I need.
Yes, I was pleased and surprised how quick and easy the process was to decide what to build, select the fixtures, paint etc. It was also quick and easy to make design modifications.
There were many issues during this build process. Although a beautiful home - would not want others to go through some of the issues we had to go through.
I recommend them to others.
America's Home Place is very easy to work with. They were very responsive to questions and issues that came up along the way. My project manager was great. We were out of town builders, and we are very happy with the results of our new home. I would recommend America's Home Place to anyone looking for a builder.
These are all excellent, sharp people to work with.
My house is not to my liking. The seams were not properly mudded and the walls were not painted properly.
It would depend on their site, the complexity of their plan, whether any changes to the plan were needed, AHP's available labor pool and the availability of quality materials (not seconds).
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of America's Home Place as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
