The communication was not the best. We were renting and it was important for us to know an actual timeline from the beginning.
Delays in construction by 2-3 months caused us a major disruption in transitioning from a rental dwelling to our home, finally in the third week of Sep. Earlier estimate was June-July time-frame. 2-car garage is not large enough to park two of our cars--RX 350 and BMW X3.There should be a thermostat on each floor. No proper coordination between utilities and Van Metre Homes on placement of meters, which is a major issue in building a screen porch in the back. A number of unfinished items at closing. This is only a partial list.
The reason I gave a 4-star is because of the imperfections in some of the work. The paint is peeling. They did the job, but they did not finish all the way.
I would recommend Van Metre Homes based only on home design and features that are offered the home buyer. Van Metre also calculates to be a good value as a home builder.
I am extremely disappointed with the finishing of your homes. It seems as if the people who are hired to do the work in the interior of the house are blind. The finishing inside our house was very poor. Lack of attention to details. The walls, fire place, kitchen cabinets, doors, bathroom cabinets, tiles in bathrooms, painting, window frames, door frames, windows, bricks Infront of the house were chipped from the day we did the walk through of the house. The workers do not care about the job that they are being paid to do. The person who inspects the house after it has been completed seems not to care as well because the finishing is so poor that anyone who is not a construction worker can see it visibly. The finishing does not reflect the over the million that we paid for the home. There is a lot of a don't care attitude reflected in the workers that is why they do a sloppy job. I regret building a house with Van Metre. Every room in the house has issues with the finishing. I and dissatisfied with the house and very disappointed. The house was not even ready on the day of the walk through. Workers were still in the house painting and fixing things that had been pointed during the first walk through. Even some of things that were pointed out were not done even after we signed the contract. The ba
Unfinished part of the basement was not clean despite the fact that we were told that it will be clean before we move in.
Good team to work with!
Van Metre Homes are spacious and well ventilated. I like the way it is built.
We will recommend Van Metre homes because of the service and quality we received in the building of our home!
They build a good home, but their follow up process is a bit sloppy. Their first dry wall meeting, they were late. There were elevator issues from their elevator company, that they weren't aware of. There was also a utility box in the backyard that wasn't supposed to be there and they have yet to resolve that issue. My previous experience with them was great, but as of this time it hasn't been great.
No quality control, so many issues. 6 months and still not been fixed.
I would not recommend Van Metre Homes to anyone knowing all the issues i'm still dealing with since my settlement date in March. This is not what I expected, spending too much time trying to follow up with Van Metre to get my issues addressed rather than enjoy my new home.
Considering I contracted during Covid, almost everything went smoothly.
I agree. All were friendly & polite & professional dealing with me.
What is being sold and what is delivered is not the same thing. Our new home needs many fixes. It feels like we paid a premium for poor craftsmanship.
The experience has been good, but there were minor issues. Things should have been handled in a better way.
The location of the homes are good. We had a issue with wanting to make changes to the home, it was hard to do so. The requests that we had were easy but they did not make the changes we requested. The basic options were not good for the price that they were offering. My sister and I bought our houses at the same time and she got better options than I did.
Great overall quality home delivered on-time and on-budget. Thank you, Van Metre!
The quality of materials is subpar and the construction follow through is not good. Lot of passing the buck putting up too many houses quickly without the quality. The paint job on our million dollar home is so thin and not well done that it looks like it’s been lived in for ten years. We have noticed there is no pride in the workmanship of the individuals who work at the company. Our community it’s has a saying and it’s called #vanmetregood in reference to the poor quality many have received.
Mixed feelings about this We were fully prepared to love our new home and have been unpleasantly surprised by its shortcomings i.e., unwashable flat paint, less than functional bench in flex room (doesn't open for storage), front door lock issue, uninformative/inadequate orientation. VanMetre talks a good game but follow through doesn't always match the talk.
This was not my first new build and I was very impressed and pleased with the quality of the home. I love everything about it! Bonita and the sales team were very warm and provided a a relaxed environment. Judith, provided additional information whenever I asked for it and was very prompt and easy to talk to. Billy Taylor, has been very supportive and knows his product well. He was always available to me to answer and questions I may have had and provided ample updates with the building phase. He was very personable and likable and made me feel like part of the family. He made it very clear that he is very proud of the Van Metre product.
This is our 5th Van Metre home and we just love Van Metre.
I had no problems but, The only concern was Van Metre shows us the wrong color than the one we choose. Everything else is great.
I wanted to recommend but I felt like the overall process was a little rushed, particularly the settlement and walkthrough.
I had issues at the beginning but they took care of that. It was low quality but they fixed it.
Poor quality homes.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Van Metre Homes as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5.
