The work performed ( tune up of furnace ) was done well but the subsequent quote received for a very small project was extremely high and that would discourage me from engaging you for any future projects.

is it standard to hold a cooling unit up by a belt to prevent it from leaning? this belt slipped and was tighten to again to prevent it from leaking

A belt doesn't sound like the proper material to hold anything related to air conditioning
