Everything went smoothly. We were very pleased with the entire process from start to finish. Would certainly recommend Hitchcock Hardwood.

After trying to work with the owner John for over a year, he has yet to come back and fix the obvious mistakes his crew made at our house. They didn't bring the wood close enough to the wall in our daughters bedroom, so there are gaps between the wood and the shoe mold. They also didn't trim out properly around our sunroom threshold, so there are awkward gaps between the door molding and the floor.

After trying to schedule a time with him for months, he finally came back out. He agreed that his crew messed up, and that they would come back to fix it, but he's never been back to make it right.

Recognized Excellence - From the very first contact, John responded to me quickly and met for a consultation in a timely matter and was professional from start to finish. Our finished product is excellent and it is very refreshing to have a contractor return phone calls, make agreed upon appointments, give quick and accurate estimates and complete projects on time. Hitchcock Hardwoods will be our first call for any and all future flooring needs.

The floors were refinished July 9-12 2018. There was very little dust, the baseboards did not get scratched, the color was good and the bathroom floor that had water damage was fixed. Unfortunately when the stain was applied, what looked like a circle and foot print appeared in a very visible area in the kitchen. This was approximately a 12" x 12" area. John was not pleased with the outcome and said he would repair it.

John tried to repair the area and you could not see the circle and foot print, but now a larger area was darker than the rest of the floor and it looked like something spilled on it. John offered to redo the floors, but I didn't want to go through the process of having everything moved again and the week of work. I thought it would be better for John and us if we could have the 4 x 14' section from the kitchen cabinet to the family room carpet resanded and refinished. John said he never did this before so he wasn't sure about the outcome. We both agreed to try it and I thought if it didn't look good we would have the floors redone.

The new section does not match and is more shiny than the rest of the floors. Wally applied the final coat so John never saw the end result. We were very disappointed in the outcome and since this is a very visible area I asked John to redo the floors. I didn't think it would be an issue since we had talked about it. John sent me an email stating that Wally thought the floors looked good and my expectations were too high and I should find another contractor to meet my needs.

We have already recommended John to our friends!!
