When we decided to add solar panels to our home, we contacted four solar companies for quotes. The EGT Solar system was the only system that was battery ready. We spent several days researching all panels and components included in each quote. The data indicated that EGT Solar's panels were higher quality and had less efficiency loss over time. However, where EGT Solar really excelled was in their attention to detail and quality customer service. They are simply second to none.

EGT is a local solar panel installer that uses good quality equipment and has the expertise to put together a well designed system. They do have some issues with internal communication, so if you're wanting something additional/different than their standard done, they may agree to something and then forget about it or not follow through on it. I had a difficult time figuring out what their standard equipment install looked like as each person at EGT seemed to have a different idea of how the system would be put together. Their work crews were pleasant to interact with and work well together. There were some minor issues during the install that could have been avoided if they would slow down a little and ask more questions. The city inspector asked them to fix a few of these things and they were prompt about taking care of it. The other item involved a poorly placed roof jack, which they were able to fix later with black jack.

They handled my confusion about what I was expecting reasonably well although I think it stressed both of us a bit and they really tried to help, but were limited in what they could do. The equipment that was installed is of good quality. I like the fact that EGT is a local company with their own work crews. They also did a good job handling the Idaho Power forms, the city permits, etc.

Just a little disappointed they wasted some time with the wrong type inverter system after I told them our cell service was unreliable. The Idaho Power Rep drove up from Payette and wasted his time and their money because of it. I hope EGT will be more careful in rural areas and where cell coverage is spotty or unreliable.
