I believe the firm was going through some management changes during my project. My Trex deck is beautiful and was well done. However, I did not feel I was treated with respect by the management or sales personnel for the ancillary items and some additional projects. My communication was dismissed, their ancillary designs were flawed (including replacing insulation. water and soil management, site cleanup, and availability to match existing materials on change order items - e.g., paying for nonexistent materials), and record-keeping was not professional. Overcharges showed up several times. And, site work was don't done efficiently, requiring crews to reinstall materials. In my opinion, and with project management experience, professional, competent project management is missing from this firm. They need a skilled, present, and qualified project manager to work with clients and ensure proper communication, scheduling, and design with their fabulous work crews - not last-minute emergencies being managed by CB leadership and sales who claim they know nothing about the construction details. Toward the end of the project, poor planning and communication (listening or reading) became emergencies and cram downs when my work and deadlines were not considered. They need to build trust, reduce confusion, and last-minute "urgencies" to maintain their reputation. The work was not complete. They wanted to leave it as warranty work. If they can't deal with smaller items in two and a half months, I question the quality of their warranty.

Everyone involved in our project, from our 1st meeting with our salesman (Brian), to the design team, project manager and everyone else who worked so hard (especially Dave), as well as hired contractors, treated us with the utmost respect. We had our home under construction for over 6 months and I never heard anyone get upset and never heard one inappropriate comment or swear word come out of anyone's mouth (very impressive). Every crew cleaned up at the end of the day. We challenged Custom Built with some special needs on our project. We had a few hiccups along the way, mostly on our part, but Custom Built dealt with them and made sure we got what we needed.

The initial design phase took into account my wants and advice from the design agent. The construction crew started earlier that expected and used quality materials. The demolition of the old porch structure and the new construction took only three days. The crew cleaned up the work site at the end of each day.

I hired Custom Built to demolish my old deck and put up a new one with Trex decking material. The design crew and construction crew were EXCELLENT! Friendly, and did a great job. I am SO happy with my new deck! The design crew met with me three 3 times for 2-hours to show me what they had come up with as a design, and to ask about any changes I wanted to make. So thorough! And they kept in touch with me regularly. Custom Built was an excellent choice for my new deck. People who've seen it have said "It's gorgeous!!"

We were very satisfied with the final product. The process was a bit clunky but I think Covid had a lot to do with the timing of things. We are going into second phase and hope the coordination between contractor is smooth so the project gets finished without too much interruption
