The work was begun and completed within two weeks, with which we were very pleased. The installers were not only professional and knowledgeable, but also very efficient. I couldn't have asked for a better job.
We had the furnace replaced, AC replaced, and a new water heater installed.
Exceeded in all areas. I am sure the items we had installed significantly reduced our utility bills. With the installation of a drop ceiling and panel lighting, the basement went from "dismal dungeon" to a bright open area with no dark corners.
I love the floor and the cabinets. They also recommended a pedestal sink because I was trying to create more floor space so my husband could easily get into the bathroom with a walker. The shower is nice.
Dave is an excellent carpenter.
The quality of materials used and workmanship, the timeline and the price all exceeded my expectations.
We had a couple of hiccups along the way where the screens on the screens porch were to be replaced and the porch painted. We thought the screen should be done after the painting so there wouldn't be any paint on the screen. Custom Built decided to have the screen people do it and then the painting, and then paint got on the screen. They didn't factor in the new braces that would have to be put in to hold the screen. They took the old ones off and put it back on and it didn't look right. We got them to redo it, but they charged us extra money for the new slats to hold the screen on. We negotiated a little reduction on that, but they should have known ahead of time they were going to have to replace those slats. I think if they had done that, they wouldn't have put the old one back on and then taken them down and put the new one on. We ended up having to eat a lot of that because the painters ended up getting paint on the screen. We show it Custom Built and they agreed to bring the screen guys back and they replaced the panels that had paint on them. It struck me on some of these things, that if they had sequenced their work better it wouldn't have happened. I was really annoyed that we had to pay extra for the slats to hold the screen on when in my mind, they never should have put the old ones back on in the first place only to put to take them down and put new ones up. We ended up with some headaches and it was annoying and it dragged the process out. On the front of the house, they did some new posts and replaced molding around one of the doors. The vinyl molding, first of all, was put on where the door closes and there was a gap. They should have let the door down so the vinyl molding on after the door was down so they would know there wouldn't be a gap when the doors were closed. I had them come back and replace that, they replaced the vinyl molding around the door with vinyl that had a little less surface area so it turns out that where the old vinyl covered the door at a certain level the new one doesn't so we have this unpainted section where the old vinyl use to cover. I asked them to replace it but it wasn't on their work order. Finally, I got sick of it and will have to replace it myself this Spring. I got tired of bringing then back all the time. They make good on some of the stuff and they really wanted us to be happy with it. There were certain things they could have done the first time and us not chasing them for it. I am still annoyed that I had to pay for the slats on the porch when they never should have put them back up in the first place. Once they were thrown off, they were damaged and everything else. If they knew a new slat was needed, we would have been willing to pay for it. When you have change orders, that is where the contractors kill you. Part of it was the annoyance of having them come back to do something over again.
There is a lot about Custom Built that is good. The sequences could have been done better and avoided some of this. Good on the cleanup.
They met or exceeded my expectations on the deck, and the posts they put on the front of the house. The chimney work was nicely done.
We had a new deck designed and installed by Michael and his Custom Built Team. We are very pleased with the design and quality of the work. The deck looks as nice today as it did the day they completed the work! We highly recommend this company. Ron and Sharon

They met or exceeded my expectations with the quality and the attention to our preferences on the built. Dave was pretty flexible and we made some modifications. They were minor, but he took them in stride. We have the best deck in the neighborhood.
All the people we worked with deserve positive recognition. Kim had the vision of what needed to be done. The 2 men who worked the hours on the actual project were exceptional! The project was very challenging and required great attention to detail and talent, and it was completed perfectly.
Custom Built has always done high quality work for us.
The project manager, Dave, ( I sure hope I am remembering that name correctly) kept me informed every step of the way and I really appreciated that.
Really, in all areas! The workers were so efficient, organized and task oriented that the project showed major progress every day.

Everybody who was here was very friendly, open, positive.
The overall quality of the work was exactly what I hoped for and expected.
Definitely would recommend, and already have. I am pleased with how the project turned out, and so is the neighborhood.

The neighbors are amazed at how nice the ramp looks.
I am looking forward to using them again.
Lots of up-front work to make sure the job was done correctly and to our specifications.
Communication, help with design, professionalism of all of the staff (office and skilled).
They started the job early which was great. The fact that they finished on time was great as well.
The workmanship of my deck was wonderful. It’s beautiful, functional and the perfect addition to my house. Using Custom built was one of my better decisions!
I had only one quote and it was from Custom Built. Their great reputation was well known for quality work. They lived up to my expectations.
We had a short delay due to weather and Custom Built kept me informed.
The whole experience met or exceeded my expectations. The following spring the company stained my new deck and it was beautiful. The wood prep was extensive and staining was consistent on the entire deck.
Already recommended them to my neighbors.
They made sure everything was picked up and clean!
Great crew who was always friendly and courteous.
Before, during and after my project Customer Built team did a great job communicating the project. They were always timely on responses to questions.
Finished project early!
I had three quotes; Custom Built was the most expensive but the comfort and confidence they gave me out weighed the cost. Their attention to detail is second to none.
They have all been good. I would recognize the person who stained the stairs and the person who put in the stairway for exceptional service. The gentleman who stained the stairs had a fine attention to detail.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the oppurtunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Custom Built Design & Remodeling as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
