Oak Alley Design Build Remodeling provides top-notch residential design build remodeling services, along with great customer support - a combination that can't be beat! Founded in 1983, McKay General Contractors changed its name to Oak Alley, Inc. in 2002. With 30 years of industry experience, we are a residential design-build leader in Jefferson and Shelby Counties, Alabama.

Our work as a full-service professional remodeling firm includes large additions and whole-house renovation, plus designer kitchens and baths. An experienced full-time lead carpenter on each project has the responsibility of monitoring quality, keeping the job on schedule, and taking care of the customer's need for order and information.

Company President Mike McKay is a Certified Graduate Remodeler, a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, and has the Master Remodeler designation from Birmingham's award-winning Master Builder/Master Remodeler program. He serves as a board member of the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders and the GBAHB Remodelers. Oak Alley, Inc. is a member of the Birmingham and Shelby County Chambers of Commerce, as well as a long-standing member of the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating.

I would like to paint the inside of my front door. It is already stained with a semi glossy dark stain. Can I effectively use latex paint with primer in it?
