Sage Homes LLC

A second generation homebuilder, Sage Homes LLC is based in Punta Gorda, FL. We are family owned and operated by Paul Schaefer II (Jr.), his father Paul (Sr.) and mother Lorraine. Our goal is to provide each client with a positive and continuous experience. We are ready to see your project through from concept to completion, beginning with the conceptual drawings through to your move-in & beyond. We limit the number of homes kitchen or bath remodels we do at one time to ensure every client receives the attention they deserve.

Our team has extensive business, design, construction, real estate, and hands-on experience. Paul Jr. is a State Certified General Contractor and Home Inspector, as well previously being a CPA, a designation he attained after earning his Masters at the University of Florida; he also held a license as a Reltor in New Jersey. Paul Sr. held licenses as a Realtor and Builder in New Jersey. Lorraine has been in real estate since the early '80s and holds both a Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) Designation and a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation. She currently hangs her license with Re/Max Harbour & the Andreae Group.

Our extended family relocated to Southwest Florida in 2000, and since then we've remodeled in excess of 75 homes and completed the builds of more than 55 custom and semi-custom homes. We think of homes in 3-dimensions, and work to incorporate innovative ways to increase storage within the conditioned space of a home. Many of our customers are "transplants" (like ourselves) who are used to having basements and other forms of indoor storage, which are typically missing from Florida home designs. When touring our model homes, just look up! In the closets, garage -- basically wherever you look -- we've added in great places to store seasonal decorations, luggage, and much more. Additionally, we design and build energy efficient homes, so you can save money on your monthly energy bills and reduce your impact on the environment.

We take building your home very personally. For us, the construction process is a team effort: the homeowner, the contractor, our subcontractors, and our suppliers are all key players in successfully completing any project. We work hard to keep open lines of communication with every member of our team, as we believe this is a vital part of the team relationship. In addition, we make sure to make regular contact with our customers through a variety of channels such as cell phone, office phone, and email—as conditions and preferences dictate. We will work with you to balance your needs with budget concerns and show you how one decision may affect another farther along in the process.

As global citizens, we work hard to build homes that use green building techniques and are energy efficient. Paul Jr. holds the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) designations of Certified Green Professional (CGP) and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). Universal Design tenets play throughout his designs and plans.

We also take an active part in our community. In 2008, Paul Jr. accepted a position on the Board of Directors of his homeowners association, the Burnt Store Meadows and also a position on the Board of the Charlotte Desoto Building Industry Association - our local NAHB affiliate. He later served as President of each organization.

Paul is the proud father of two young boys, and as such is currently "on sabbatical" from volunteer work, while he concentrates his extra-curricular efforts on his children’s development and education.

As Schaefer Homes, we, along with our subcontractors & suppliers, built a complete home in one week as part of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders’ Blitz in 2008 and again in 2009. It was a truly rewarding experience.

Whether you are looking to build a home in Charlotte County based on our existing plans, want to make some modifications, or would like custom home design services, we have the skills and expertise to help you create the home you've always wanted. Call us today at 941-575-7242 or fill out contact form.

We look forward to working with you!

Answers from contractors near Punta Gorda, FL

We're redoing my parents roof and their chimney needs some repair work as well. Is it better to do the masonry work before or after we do the rest of the roof?
Jul 27, 2018
Definitely before you do the roof, masonary work and any flashing around the chimney should be done prior to starting on the roofing.
So Iam having a house built, I took pictures and sent them up to be viewed and fixed by the builder, how long should the builder take to respond to me?
Jun 2, 2015
3 - 5 business days
