It was a great experience and would do it again. I regret the timing of everything because I was caught in a transition and it didn't go very smoothly. Part of that was the billing process and there were lots of times when the billing was unclear. Every time I read it there was an error that was pointed out and corrected.

BuildSense, as was L E Meyers, is top quality and professional. They are on the more expensive end of builders, but this is somewhat offset by the fact that they finish ON TIME and everything is done very well.

The owners and employees of BuildSense have high quality standards and are excellent communicators. We started with a creative vision of my project and developed it together. They strike a good balance between listening and fulfilling a client's wishes and bringing their own ideas to the table in order to improve the project. Their deep experience with similar projects was helpful and they always offered a number of possible solutions to problems that emerged, giving me some control over budget impacts. While the initial estimate was too low, once we had the contract in place and were rolling it was fairly smooth without big financial scares. Completion was a bit later than planned - as in so many construction projects - but I am highly satisfied with the result and love my new space. Their employees and subcontractors paid a lot of attention to detail and to doing it right. They were courteous and cooperative in terms of scheduling. Management of the construction process on site was excellent (important since I lived in the house during construction). Even after construction was complete they were always willing to address any lingering issues. Overall I highly recommend BuildSense for residential renovation or new construction projects.

In looking at my new veterinary hospital, you would not suspect that BuildSense had not yet designed and built several of them. They worked very closely with me to respond to my design requests for the renovation of a 1960's Post Office in a small town into a single doctor veterinary practice. Sometimes, the design was adapted as we discovered things about the building during demolition--such as the beautiful tongue and groove plank roof which became my exposed ceiling in the lobby. They guided me through the whole process from design to build and helped me make educated decisions based on functionality, energy efficiency, durability and cost. The end product is a wonderful, bright, well thought out space that enhances the overall wellbeing of my staff, my clients and their pets. Thank you, BuildSense!

BuildSense was one of 3 contractors that we interviewed for the remodel of our home. Our original idea was to add an addition to provide a bathroom, a better functioning living room, and mud room for our family of 7. BuildSense was the only firm that really looked at how we were using the existing space we already had and offered ideas and options to optimize that space rather then adding square footage.They were great through the design phase, bringing new ideas to the table, listening to our input and feedback. Construction was done almost exactly on schedule and ended up being right on budget. And they kept fighting for the ideas we wanted, even when something was difficult or hard to find.We love our new space and how it reflects our character and works so well for our family. BuildSense assisted us tremendously in designing, planning and building our condo upfit. it was a complex project with very high end finishes and required a lot of coordination with the building developer who had left major problems which had to be overcome to complete our project. Subcontractors were able to provide very high quality materials and workmanship.

They took my floorpan ideas and incorporated everything that I most wanted, including passive solar/high energy efficiency. The latter is entirely consistent with their overall philosophy. Cost estimates were made early in the process and the price never changed. The architect was on site a lot and we had regular meetings to assess progress. My concerns (very few) were always addressed in a timely manner. And the designer was always available when I needed advice in choosing fixtures or paint colors.
