Who We Are
My name is Jeff Dowling, President and Owner of Taylor Rae Construction, which is located in Boonton Township, NJ and is named after my first two daughters. After graduating from Rutgers University with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering I worked for several years in various industries as both an engineer and manager. However, I was always a hands-on type and was working part-time in the construction industry since I was young. It was only a matter of time until I could no longer be behind a desk for 8-12 hours a day. In 2004 I left my job with a steel company and formed Taylor Rae Construction. Initially, we took on all different types of remodeling but had always preferred exterior work.. In time the windows and doors side of the business grew to a point where I had no time for anything else. Over the past few years, due to constant requests from customers, we added siding and decks to our list of services.
Although I left my Engineering job, I never lost my Engineering mentality. This is why I approach every job with modern techniques, better materials, and standardized practices. Also, when you hire us you will find that we operate with integrity, professionalism and respect. We are family owned and operated and are always grateful for the opportunity to showcase our talents in the areas we serve.

From start to finish, everyone at Taylor Rae did an excellent job on replacing all of the windows on my house. Communication was frequent and clear, all of the workers were courteous and knowledgeable, and the quality of the windows is excellent. We have had mixed results working with contractors in the past, however, we were delighted to have worked with Taylor Rae. From the beginning when we were working our estimates, Jeff and his team worked with us to make sure that we were getting our dollars worth. The carefully and thoroughly explained in a simple professional manner the materials used, pricing, installation, and budgeting. We did our own research as well and they were not offended when we shared our information, true professionals.
When construction started, John the super, was there to meet us, walk us through the entire process, get our input, receive our concerns, act on our questions. The crew was skilled, thorough, quick, friendly and open to getting our input as well.
When everything was finished and we got the final bill, everything was as discussed, no extras and no surprises. A truly professional company, I highly recommend using their services.

The initial consultation for replacing 9 windows was relaxed and informative. I never felt that they were pushing me or trying to influence me. They patiently answered all the questions my wife and I had, and didn't seem in a hurry. They set a date 6-8 weeks away after we had signed the contract, but were ready in 5. During the installation they explained what they were going to do, and then while they were doing it, what they were doing and again patiently answered all of my questions and showed me how the new windows work. You may find other people as good as they are, but you won't find anyone better.
Writing a year later I would just add that there have been absolutely no problems and we continue to be delighted with their work.

After much consideration and 3 quotes from other companies, we decided to go with Taylor Rae Construction to do the vinyl siding of our home and WE'RE SO GLAD WE DID!! Jeff and his staff were professional as well as available for any questions or concerns we may have had. The crew was at my house first thing in the morning and didn't leave until it got dark. The area was kept as neat as possible, considering the work they were doing ( having children around, I was concerned about that). I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Taylor Rae Construction to anyone! Even speaking to Jamie, secretary at the office, was an absolute delight to talk to and always got back to me with whatever information I needed or question I had.
