Additional Comments - It is my desire to work as a team with any contractor, but you can't do so if the other party isn't amenable to the idea. I sensed from the beginning that Thomson would be comfortable with this type of relationship, and I was correct.

Areas For Improvement - Most businesses probably need a little more work done to deal with females (specifically) in the way that they explain things. They should explain the options better--they have a paternal instinct. Other than that, I love them.

Additional Comments - They do a quality job. I have had lots of compliments from neighbors because they maintain the architectural character of the community. They love the careful detail that they applied--they didn't just throw a flat roof over the deck. They're really sharp roofing guys. They knew how to get just the right pitch and how to do the trim work to make it fit in with the other two roofing structures. It looks very nice.

Areas Of Satisfaction - Willing to let us take samples home to see how they might look. Did meet the deadline we had for completing a closet.Kitchen looks great, a pleasure to work in. THeir design is conventional but very successful. we also chose them because they handled almost all of the details-- buying and installing appliances for example. Probably makes them more expensive, but took a worry off me.

Areas Of Satisfaction - I was most satisfied with the fact that they have a store with lots of samples that I could see. I did not have to waste my time going to a specialty tile store or to Home Depot and driving around town to look at different options. Instead I could see everything there together in their store. Seeing everything together was very beneficial for me as well as convenient because I did not have to drive around everywhere. Also, they stuck to their time schedule, which in this line of work is unheard of. This was literally my first experience of a contractor meeting their deadline, which was great. The quality of the work by Fred and the materials used were very high as well. The salesperson that I dealt with, David, was really very professional. Those were the things that were the most important to me.

Expertise

Expertise - Every single individual that performed work on my property was highly skilled. My house was built in 1890, and needless to say was not exactly straight. After the superb work performed by Thomson Remodeling, my house looked tremendously better. Certain problems were tough to solve, but they did their best which is what I expected.

Professional & Organized

Professional & Organized - Tony the project manager was very professional at all times! He definitely had his ducks in a row, and was able to get the work done when it was needed.

Schedule

Schedule - We didn't necessarily have a schedule. I went into this transaction with the understanding that Thomson was a highly desirable company to work with. And now I know why! We did not include a schedule in a contract, however, when the work absolutely needed to be done, the work was finished quickly on time and without corners being cut.

Budget

Budget - I paid for exceptional work and I received just that. I was advised as to the best practices, and we were able to negotiate new items that were very reasonable in cost. They did not recommend the most costly solution to sell me a product and more services I didn't need. I had a rotted portion under a window in which they removed the rotted portion and salvaged the remaining sections. Not to mention this was an addition to the contract.

Construction Quality

Construction Quality - Absolutely excellent work and craftsmanship. Job was done exactly to contract. They did not even try to cut corners!

Problem Resolution

Problem Resolution - I had a single very minor issue with work that was performed, even though the work was already way above my expectations! Thomson had the guy back out there to fix the issue the next day! I'm sure this issue only existed because he had to leave because of the rain.

Clean & Safe

Clean & Safe - Simply put...Always. Exterior paint was completed in no time, and it was like they were never there.

Value

Value - You get what you pay for with this company. Worth every penny.

Areas For Improvement - My property was a home I was preparing to rent. I only wish I could have lived in it longer after all the great work Thomson performed!
