Upfront
Price high for the quality of work
Overall, the process was good. It took a long time to get it installed and the installation gets a C- grade for poor joints and leaving the window dirty. I got a fair price and I like the product.
My windows are beautiful and were installed neatly and attractively.
Installers were very good, quick, thorough and communicated well about what they did and any special instructions.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED EVERYTHING..........except the price
There needs to be better communication. We were not called when the installers were late. We found out about it when WE called the office. They gave us a revised ETA and assured us that if there were any other delays that we would be called. They were later than the revised time but there was no call. Finally, they showed up to do the installation. When they were done, they had us sign the papers. We went upstairs and found that a screen was not installed right and when the installer couldn't fix it himself, had to stop one of the others from leaving to help him. When they left, nobody had shown us exactly how the windows worked. We had to figure it out for ourselves
I like my windows and the first installer did a great job but he wasn’t prepared (with a second person) to install my kitchen window. He said the company would call me to set up another date to install it. They never called so a week later I contacted and set up a day/time. They come and install it and use raw wood around the opening (which is fine I just didn’t know it wouldn’t be flush). They removed the old trim but didn’t bring trim to replace it with and the spaces left for trim wasn’t uniform. Then they caulk the raw wood with clear silicone caulk that cannot be painted leaving it impossible to paint the wood without removing the caulk. They even left the sticky label on the window and the outside looks odd around the siding. They leave with the same comment that the company would call me to set up a time/day to complete the trim. Again no call. I again call and set up a day. In the meantime the company does call me on 2 different occasions saying that I’ve requested a quote for windows (which I’ve already had and have them installed). The next installer comes but isn’t quite sure what to do as no one took pictures so he didn’t realize what the space looks like and that the trim will need to fit unequal spaces. He was also to remove the clear silicone and replace with white caulk. He did a good job making the trim look like it should but did not get all the silicone removed but caulked over it ( and a messy job on the caulking as well) I think you need more training for “professional” installation. The installation on that final window was far from a professional job that we paid for.
Very dependable and honest with all transactions
Installation crew was courteous and professional.
I'd recommend universal windows to everyone
Still processing...
I would highly recommend Universal Windows Direct to my friends and family!
The group of men that came to install my windows were very nice and efficient they all know the wrk well, and did a fabulous job!
Great service
I'll likely recommend a friend for windows replacement.
The workers were very friendly, nice polite, respected my property and did a fantastic job on the windows
Great person and a great person putting up all 5 of my windows.
The communication is awful, the product brand new already started to fall off my house, and I had to nag and annoy them to get my install scheduled
Please read whole survey
Appreciated the time from order to install. 8 weeks.
None
I will attach the list below of the things that are not satisfactory. I would appreciate the damaged items being fixed. I would also appreciate my questions being answered and repairs made as needed. I am aware the amount of time this project took can not be changed for me, but I highly recommend that a discussion happen with future customers to verify they do not mind the amount of time involved.
This was a 13 hour job. This is too long.
The men worked hard.
There was a lot of dust and debris on the horizontal surfaces and carpet. 2 of the bedrooms had the most particulate. The particulate appeared to include sawdust, plastic, siding, and fiberglass insulation. We had to clean, dust, and change the sheets before we could go to bed. We spent the next 3 days cleaning. All blankets and comforters had to go to the cleaners.
Most of the windows seem to have a problem with their seal. The upper window has what looks like a rubber seal on the bottom. One or both sides of this seal is pushed down instead of staying flat.
The windows in the Change room, kitchen, and living room have some plaster knocked loose by the sill. The change room wall close to the sill has a nail that has started to back out of the wall.
The door to the garage does not appear to sit against the seal. From the garage side, the bottom of the door touches the seal but the top does not. On both sides there is an orange tag at the bottom of both sides of the jam.
The living room window screen middle does not sit in the slide channel on the outside. Each end does. There is a nail sticking out of the frame on the outside.
The sill on the living room window has at least 3 holes in the wood.
The screen’s direction sticker is upside down. Does that mean the screen is upside down?
The outside top of the slider looks like it is not flush, there is a gap. I am concerned this will allow water to infiltrate. Our metal siding has marks on it from the trimming to make the slider fit. The drywall by the slider was cracked.
I have picked up at least 8 pieces of metal trimmings laying in the yard and in bushes.
Adding a trip charge is not acceptable when that is not in the contract i signed when i bought my windows.
Screwed up my checks. Took money out of my account without contacting me or my approval
