Since its inception by co founders William Barr and Michael Strmac in 2002, Universal Windows Direct has lived by the philosophy of CANEI - "Constant and Never Ending Improvement". This philosophy holds true in all aspects of our business, from sales and marketing to installation and service and has catapulted UWD from a small, local home improvement company to one of the largest exterior remodeling companies in the country. The windows do not close up tight. I can’t turn the locking mechanism. A service man came slammed it up so that it would close completely and told me to wait for a couple weeks and see if that helps.

This install began in August of 2025 -- One sash arrived with a crack across the glass and 2 windows had stripped screws on the latches. Many calls later and much waiting to get the new window. It is now March, and we just got the new window and repairs to the latches. Not satisfactory for us at all.
