I have called customer service 3-4 times with no call back from the operations manager to give me an update on resolution or timeframe to install my doors.

I just found out that you will now be charging $150 to send someone out on a warranty service call. Had I known that you were going to do this I would have given my business to someone else.

At first it was wonderful...all but one window went in seamlessly. But the last window was built wrong the first time. We have now waited 12 weeks for the last window and we are still waiting. Oh and we were told it would only take 5 weeks to build.
Was lied to about the financial situation and not told about the size of the window and not left contact information.
Canceled delivery once then canceled delivery one hour before scheduled appointment then rescheduled again.. multiple day's waiting on delivery had to reschedule other appointments.
The wait time between signing a contract, measuring the space, and actually getting the window was delayed into almost 4 months.
When I purchased my windows, I was guaranteed free lifetime warranty. Two weeks ago, I needed a handle replaced and I was told I would have to pay $140 to have a technician come out and replace a free handle. I feel that is unjust. I understand Universal Windows changed their policy after I purchased a whole house full of windows by charging this $140 “service charge”. I feel that those of us who purchased, in good faith, windows before the institution of this new policy should not have to pay this exorbitant fee. One of the main reasons we purchased from Universal Windows is because of the Customer Service being free.
Everything from the original sales pitch and job price quote, through installation and one minor repair that needed to be performed went as smooth as can be! I love my new windows and HIGHLY recommend Universal Windows Direct to anybody that needs new windows for their home!
The quality of the installed window products is exceptional. There has been a noticeable difference in energy use in the short time the windows have been installed. The initial sale and customer support was excellent. However, during the initial installation, it was discovered that a few of our windows were not measured and/or manufactured to the correct size. These three windows needed to be manufactured again to the correct size and our home had a hodge podge of old and new windows in several places. 6 weeks later, when the newly manufactured windows were brought out for installation, they were once again the wrong size/configuration and/or had the wrong window grids. Once again, we had to wait 4-6 weeks for these windows to be rebuilt and brough out and reinstalled. So, from the day our windows were to be installed until we had the correct size and grid configuration on our windows - meaning a completed project - it was nearly 3.5 months.
Again, the actual windows themselves are exceptional, which keeps me from giving a lower score, but the process from a correctly manufactured product and service perspective was below acceptable standards.

When the windows were knstalled there was a hole in the kitchen screen. I was told by the installer that I would be contacted by someone from Universal in the next day or two and make arrangements to replace the screen. The windows were installed on a Wednesday. The following week on Friday no one had contacted me. I had to call Universal. I talked to Mandy and she was very helpful in scheduling someone to come and replace the screen. The following Wednesday she scheduled someone to replace the screen, TWO weeks after installation. The person who came arrived on time and did a good job.
ALSO, the fact that I had to practically pay the total amount before anything was installed is ridiculous. I understand a down payment, but I do not understand why I had to pay almost the total before anything was installed. Do you pay for a new car before yuou get it????
ALSO, I was told the installers would be here between 8:00 - 10:00 on the day the windows were to be installed.. Whomever scheduled that time knew they would not be here as they were coming from Chicago. If I am told someione will be here between 8:00 - 10:00, I expected to see them about 9:30 or 9:45. They arrived after 10:00. It does not matter if they were 1 minute, 5 minutes,10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes late. Anytime after10:00 is late.
The installers did a good job when they arrived, Point is, the scheduler did them a disservice and myself.
Initial installers couldn’t communicate, since they spoke very little English. Rushed what was supposed to be a 2-day job into 1. So, another crew came back and fixed some of the issues. Removed and Reinstalled both sliding doors, re-wrapped and re-caulked the exterior of 8 of the windows, cleaned up the excess spray foam from the initial installers and still have to come back to fix the initial issues with the front door since they were sent with the wrong trim and had to order 2 new screen doors for the sliders.
The workers arrived early, went to work immediately and did a great job.
Not sure yet. Waiting on door that has been ordered. The guy fixed the caulking on one window for me. Also fixed the hole that light was coming through the door.But, I was told I’ll have to go to Home Depot to fix the woodwork at the side of the door. For $8,000 I would think the woodwork that the guys worked on would be replaced and fixed so it doesn’t look shoddy.
The windows look great. Installed in one day half of our windows. Will do the other half in the future

Was told Saturday install could be scheduled then when windows came in we were told no Saturday installs. After 2 weeks of multiple calls from different people finally a Saturday was scheduled. We were also told if the windows were not install soon we would be charged a storage fee, Not verry customer friendly.

Horrible customer service from the day after I signed contract. Won’t return calls if you are lucky enough to get through. Had issues left unresolved, multiple times trying to get service, couldn’t understand why I was upset. “Ghosted” after initial contact, no follow through after installation, left my grounds a mess, this is only the short list of complaints. Third negative survey I submitted and don’t expect any response.
