They are unreliable.
First meeting with Jenkins was timely, showed up with in a few days after the initial contact. Took a month to receive the bid. Finally receive it and was told it would be about a week long project. Fast forward to December, the project was “completed” to very poor standards. Different grade of carpet. Sub contractors were very bad. They went by the assumption the contractor is always right. Don’t not use centermark flooring in corpus. Jenkins took way too long to return calls and get things completed. On the upside, the GC worked with me in the end on final cost but only after it was readily apparent the project was a mess.
Very professional
From scheduling my first estimate until the end, all the staff and technicians with Jenkins Environmental provided excellent service and much-needed patience for myself and my family. I felt very confident about having people in and out of my house. Utilizing this company was worth every cent, and I would recommend them to family, friends, and strangers.
I have been really pleased with Jenkins Restoration's attitude and courtesy. They have been accommodating us and working with us. They have demonstrated good character which means a lot to me.
The Mold remediation portion of the project was beyond satisfactory. Thank you Adam!! The re-construction part of the process was a total nightmare. They started with reinstalling insulation and sheetrock. When I got home that evening the sheetrock was installed directly on the slab with no gap. When I asked about this I was told “we always do it like that.” A two minute Google search confirmed that there is supposed to be a ½” gap from slab to sheetrock to keep the sheetrock from “wicking” up moisture and creating mold from minor spills and flooding. This was after a mold remediation. They fixed this. The next day one of the “sheetrockers” was spitting tobacco on my floors in the bathroom. Next were the painters. The painters did a horrible job on the texture and tape and float. When the painters supervisor was asked about this they said that their guys wouldn’t do that. My wife was told that we did that jacked up texture. What??? We told Tyler we would get some painters that have done work for us in the past to fix this issue for us. They came over and shook their heads at the work that was done and then promptly fixed it for us.Two weeks later water was seeping out of the newly sheet rocked and painted wall where the plumbing for the sinks are. I ripped the new wall down to find the copper piping to not have any insulation wrap and the new Batt insulation was crammed / jammed into wall cavities and there were significant gaps in the insulation. This is basic construction, not rocket science. Our job was to supposed be completed in three weeks. During this period we got no or slow response from Tyler at Jenkins. I even called his direct Supervisor and we finally started to get communication with Tyler. Six weeks after our contracted completion date we were pushed back another week. This was not acceptable. We cut ties with Jenkins and had already put 50% $ down on project. We did finally agree to an amount of refund that was fair enough for both of us and went our separate ways. This total project started in mid February and we have a new contractor that started yesterday to complete what Jenkins couldn’t. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the mold remediation or water cleanup division of Jenkins but I would never recommend the construction division.
Quick response and complete professionalism.
Adam Evens did a very good job.
Shady workers and way over on completion target date. Tried to cut corners on materials and hired very shady and untalented third party workers.
Recognized Excellence - Kevin Radman. He took the project over and showed exemplary follow up and action. He knows the business and it showed!Dillon Dinkens finished the job and was responsive and attentive.
Jenkins Restoration has just completed the mold remediation portion of my home. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is needing this service. Adam and Tyler have been the most professional, courteous and patient contractors that I have ever worked with. Jenkins mission statement "Restoring Property and Lives with a servant's heart" is not just a slogan it is their way of doing business.
I would recommend them in the future.
Recognized Excellence - Dylan, he was very responsive and courteous. He always responded within 24 hours. He was very professional and someone who I would like to do business with again.
Additional Comments - Jenkins was very responsive to our feedback and . We would use them again.
This was the most horrible experience ever!!! We always heard the horror stories about contractors after a hurricane hits. It's all true!!! Everything started off good, then went down hill fast. There was zero communication between Jenkins and the numerous subcontractors they hired and us. We had to call the subcontractors ourselves to find out what was going on!!! Thats funny.... I don't remember working for Jenkins!!! Random people would show up at any given time. Half the time myself or my wife would take off work to be home so they could work and no one showed up!!! What a total waste of vacation time!!! They decided to build our cabinets off site so all the measurements were way off!!! Still are!!! They had guys here removing wood trim that had just been installed by another subcontractor the day before because no one was communicating!!! All the cabinets were painted the wrong color!!! So they all had to be sanded down again and redone. RIDICULOUS!!! From start to finish the entire job took 1 year. The only good part of the whole ordeal was the laminate guy and his wife. They did a flawless job but were ran off by Jenkins because they pointed out a flaw in carpentry that another subcontractor had made. One half of our upper cabinets were installed upside down so the gaps from the doors to the trim are off. After using the wrong screws to install the cabinet doors and removing them to put the correct screws in, we noticed that multiple doors would begin to fall off the cabinets because the holes were too big now. As of right now we still have doors coming loose again, doors that have never closed correctly, etc. There are so many things that went wrong with this entire process. Needless to say, we will NEVER use or recommend Jenkins Restorations to anyone!!!
I consider myself very fortunate due to the swift response from Jenkins Restorations for my dry out process! I was given so much peace of mind with the detailed explanations of what would take place in order to remedy the mess and damage caused by a ruptured water line in my kitchen. I could not have been more pleased with the service I received from the Jenkins team!
Areas Of Satisfaction - The professionalism with the team assigned to my home. They showed and made me feel that they cared about my distress; that really meant a lot to me. That is rare to find now in days.
The people that I have dealt with, Danny and John, have been wonderful. I could not ask for anything better!
My experience was excellent! I was very pleased with the work. The communication was poor, and the contractor wasn't too good as well. But everyone was overworked, and I never knew when they would show up.
They're professional and wonderful people.
The representative I dealt with was far beyond what I can explain. I was having trouble with a 3rd party adjuster and he would call me and ask if we heard anything
Already have recommended them to several friends!
Their employees were exceptionally good and courteous. They were an unbelievably good company to work with.
Jenkins Restorations went above and beyond in their support. I would particularly like to acknowledge Luis DeLa Garza for his support.
They were very professional. They were on time, and you could certainly tell they knew what they were doing. I was here the whole time with them since I am retired.
After Harvey, we had some water penetration into 2 rooms. Jenkins came quickly and identified the areas and started the drying out process. It was completed in about the time estimated. Their employees are very good and removed all debris. The cost was very reasonable, considering the event and other companies were over-charging. Jenkins did not state in the beginning that they would not be doing a full restore - when the areas of drywall were dry, they did not restore them and left them with thin plastic sheeting. Jenkins later said they were not competitive in restoring drywall and would not even offer to do it.
Due to damage from Hurricane Harvey we relocated to another area. The furniture was removed and a key given to Jenkins. After completion of the work I returned home to find that Jenkins had done the work requested, done a good job of clearing away house hold debris and preparing the house for upcoming repairs. I am satisfied with this work.
Jenkins Restoration was there when I needed them. The level of professionalism was second to none in a high emotion catastrophic environment like a hurricane.
Amazing design service that saved me hours of time! The designer listened to our needs and came up with a few great palettes and tailored her original plan to our specific needs. All this was done through e-mail and video conferencing. I especially appreciated the detailed shong
