My experience with McKinnis, simply put, is Joey Swafford. We had a whopper of a project working with State Farm and the new owner of the house in which the hail damage work was completed. I believe from start to finish the project took over a year in total due to State Farm dragging feet and challenging communication with the new owner of the house. Joey was there every step of the way - a true professional that was able to guide me in every step of the process. I don't believe I have ever said this about a contractor that I have worked with, I think of Joey as friend. Hang on to Joey, he puts and incredible face on your organization.
They were very professional, very timely, and did a great job. We are absolutely pleased with the work they did
Everyone we worked with was very courteous and eager to please.
My biggest issue is if I hadn't been there watching the reshingling of my house and pointing out the problems that we were facing with the quality of the work they would have just left the job site and would have finished the job the way it would have been finished.
I was very disappointed in the company's level of service throughout my experience.
They were very professional.
After a hail storm I reached out to Jerod and McKinnis from prior work completed. Jerod was great to work with through the whole process. I am giving four stars for the following reasons: 1) After the roof was installed there was a sizable leak in one of the bedrooms. McKinnis as timely in reviewing the leak. 2) After another rain event there was a smaller leak still in the same bedroom. McKinnis was timely in the repair 3) After our window wrappings were installed the shingles were replaced hap haphazardly. Jerod directed the crew on what needed to be corrected and the crew corrected follow-up visits. 4) It has not yet been a year since our roof has been installed and there is at least one shingle too date that has fallen. We have a mansard roof.
Work was slapped together & resulted in me getting on the roof myself to find flawed workmanship & months of delays in completion. Still have oil stain in front of my backdoor that I alerted them to and they never cleaned. No apologies or monetary compensation was made.
They did an excellent job and they went beyond what they could have done. They replaced boards that were rotting and they made sure the foundation was fine before installing the shingles. They made sure they did it right.
They were a little slow coming out but they did a great job when they got here.
This hail claim was quite extensive including roof, windows, garage door repair, paint, and EFIS repairs. McKinnis diligently negotiated a fair claim with my insurance company and was able to assemble an excellent team of contractors to address the repairs. The process was not without issues, however, McKinnis was persistent to make progress and solve any issues to reach a high quality result. The final item needed to complete is painting that is scheduled a few weeks out.
we were disapointed to learn that the work done is NOT done by McKinnis workers, its sub contracted out. Every time there was a problem, it was never Mckinnis it was always the subcontractor. When something as simple as garbage was left behind or nobody called to say they were coming so my husband would not be awakened from sleep by pounding on the house... everyone dropped the ball and blaimed the subcontractor. So far, we have not had trouble with the work that was done. We wonder what would happen if we did have a problem, would it be THE SUBCONTRACTOR's problem and not McKinnis? in the past we have dealt with compaines who subed work out and then the big company would not stand behind the work OR the workers were no longer in business so there was nobody to Fix the problem they left us with. We thought McKinnis work was done by MCkinnis, not sub contracted out. If we'd known this, we would have looked elsewhere.
They did everything they said they would do, and they did on time and professionally.
They were very good and did a great job. The people were all very nice and easy to deal with.
Follow Up - Joey was awesome. Did everything he said he would.
McKinnis Inc. finished my job in a day or two.
We've had difficulty scheduling. There was a lack of communication from the project manager. Last October we started and were still working with them. The siding is already bowing and coming off the house and they just installed it a month ago. We had to call management multiple times.
They have done numerous types of work for us and they have all been outstanding quality on a timely basis!
Excellent job. Enough resources applied and the men were responsible at all times.
Was not happy with communication, or lack thereof. Never got updates on when work would begin, etc. Pricing was OUTRAGEOUS. Had them quote a couple of other projects for me, and they were literally more than double the 2nd highest bidder. I even questioned the PM I was dealing with, giving him an opportunity to revise the bid.
They did a great job when they actually got going. We had several things that delayed everything. We did not get our roof done and house fixed until December and they started in May.
They did an excellent job!
I do not know how to answer that because our experience, in the beginning, was difficult but in the end, I think they did a good job to fix it.
Although our job went a bit awry, I feel that Dave Jensen did a great job following up with our issues and putting a plan in place to correct them.
They were professional and did a quality job. I was happy with it.
