The company sent out a third party to do my roof, which was left incomplete. They had to come back 3 times. Two of those times they did nothing. The third time, in order for me to get a certificate of completion, so the job could get paid, that is when they decided to fix all the stuff that was not done. This went on from August to January. I am very disappointed.
Although this is not the highest bid we received it does seem to be on the high end. We are hoping that the value is in the warranty.
Yes
The workers were very professional, finished the job on time and was very neat & clean.
No
The reason for the one-star rating is that the job wasn't completed. I am having problems getting someone back out to correct the problems.
They are the best ever.
They were very unprofessional. It was a disaster and still isn't resolved.
Please, please RUN, don't walk away from this outfit.
This by far the worst contractor experience I've had in over thirty years. I suffered at least two distinct instances of fraud, multiple months of delay and am a couple of thousand bucks out of pocket on my heat pump installation project.
A little more detail:
This outfit describes itself as being "Sears", but is really "Transform SR Home Improvement Products LLC" operating as a franchise out of Florida, with local agents around the country (the SF Bay Area in my case). Presumably they bought/licensed the "Sears" brand name, but that seems to be the only connection to the venerable old chain. They don't do any of the work themselves, they sub-contract to local contractors to perform the actual installation work. These contractors clearly hate dealing with Sears because their margins are tiny, and they have no trouble bad-mouthing Sears, and have no incentive to do good work.
In my case, one sub-contractor performed the installation, and a separate sub-contractor was involved to deal with permitting and the required HERS (heating efficiency) testing. Both of these sub-contractors screwed up royally, and the local "Sears" people didn't stand behind the work performed (or not) by either. The installing contractors failed their inspection twice, left things electrically unsafe, and even fraudulently faked a power outlet that's required by code (and that I paid for, of course). I ended up having to fix things myself, at my own expense, because the work was so shoddy and unsafe - in short the installers were utterly untrustworthy. I also had to waste my time standing the inspections they failed due to their shoddy work. In no instance did the Sears people even express regret over the hassles I experienced, let alone apologise or make any effort to undo the damage or compensate me for my time and expenses.
Bottom line: My very worst ever contractor experience both in terms of quality of work and customer service. Yes, this is a franchise outfit, so your mileage may vary. This is a little like finding mouse droppings in a hamburger. Will the chain's head office ever answer the phone? Other franchisees may be just fine. Indeed, mouse droppings in your hamburger might not kill you, but that doesn't mean that you should go to this hamburger joint if you have any choice in the matter, and you do.
Transform Home Improvement lied to me every step of the way. They did not shingle the roofing over the porch and did not inform me that this would happen. I had plenty of time to research what I should have done and discovered that they originally charged me $5,000 to $10,000 over what I could have done this work for. Finally they tried to get my debit card and social security number. They lied about why. I am suspicious.
SO, SO glad to have this done; and I'm grateful to have it done with such quality.
Transform SR Home Improvement Products did a very outstanding job. They were very professional, answered all my questions, and were always on time. They were hard workers.
good job done on time
No, I could not recommend them.
I was surprised with the work. It started and finished on time. It was very neat, accurate, and the workers were very courteous. They were definitely expedient in their knowledge of what they were doing.
I am not likely to recommend them, because I don't feel the job was done properly. Sears Home Improvement recommended them, and I will never use Sears Home Improvements ever again.
They did a special job and I am well pleased.
They were courteous and professional and completed the job in a timely manner.
Everyone was great! They got here, did the job, cleaned up, and left. It looks great!
Presentation was excellent. workers were very effecient and informative of stages of work when asked
My roof is beautiful, start to finish, job completed in one day.
The salesman and his supervisor were all about customer service and ensured the customers were satisfied and happy.
Transform did not live up to the agreement of the contract. The work was performed but not as agreed on and additional charges were added but later waived. Because Transform did not honor their contractual promises, we went through a damaging storm with an impaired roof which caused more damage to the house.
If ever I needed another roof, which I hope I won't, I will definitely call you and use your products.
Everything was good along the way and exactly as they said it would be. The salesman was terrific and followed through immediately.
This is an unbelievably great service! For a very small fraction of the cost to fully renovate our master bath, the Kohler Design Service walked us through every step of the process. They took ideas that were in our head and in magazine pictures we had seen and turned it into a complete plan ready t... more
John Stanley at Oak Crest worked with us through the entire process of replacing our roof; he went above and beyond to ensure we got the best deal, and we couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks!
I'm very satisfied with my new roof. There were a few glitches, to be expected, but we worked through them. The crew was professional and courteous. The real test was a hurricane named Ian and then a hurricane named Nicole, the three months old roof came through without a scratch, or a loose shingle... more
