Bought a Move-In Ready home from AW and there was process was smooth and haggle free. The sales team were professional, prompt, and knowledgeable about the process. We were never in the dark about what was going on with the house or closing.

I like the fact they were straight forward with me. what they promise is what they delivered and they involve you in the process.

I liked working with Anthony Chavez—he is a good salesman, very approachable, and easy to talk to. From the start, I really liked the place; it's affordable, and if you have any problems, you can easily talk with them.

I would recommend the builder overall. Just make sure that if you have a warranty issue, that someone follows through.

After moving in and seeing the quality of the work that was done, I’d never recommend Ashton Woods. Paint all over the floors and baseboards, windows, throughout the house, toilet seats put in crooked and squeaky, faucets that spray water on the side instead of straight down, electrical outlets painted over, scratches in baseboards, and a severe infestation of midges that keep you from entering your own home through the front door. It’s appalling.

I’m completely happy and satisfied with the services they provided, the quality of the house, and the interior. The quality of the materials they used throughout—whether in the kitchen or bathroom areas, or the flooring—was excellent. The new house orientation presentation covered all the necessary information, and the representatives were very good. They answered my questions, even on weekends or off days, and were always happy to address my concerns. Overall, I am very happy with the services.

Not handling warranty claims in a timely manner. Person responsible for handling claims is virtually unreachable. Still have claims outstanding since move in date.

When we closed Ashton Woods had an extra week to complete the list of fixes before we moved in and everything on the list did not get fixed. House was cleaned the morning we moved in and one of the cleaners had cut themselves leaving blood on one of our interior doors and on the floor that soaked into the grout, while this was not appealing to look at it is also not sanitary. Blood can carry so many diseases.

New to the state, we have no friends here. As for recommending, we do have a gripe with Ashton Woods, that all styles of backsplashes, etc., are not available to people wanting to build in Middleton Farms. If they are shown on the website, people should have the option to choose the package they like, such as the Coastal package, which we wanted, but couldn't have. Also, though the people in the Warranty department and our attentive, hard-working, patient and amiable project manager, have been excellent in fixing everything we'd submitted to Warranty, things could be done better. The interior doors are not quality. There are no wooden windowsills and the plaster ledges crack. Prior to closing, we hired a house inspector. He found 59 items needing fixing. They were addressed. Afterwards, we found more items and those were addressed. The people who caulk (the ones we had, anyway) were sloppy. I do a better job! Also, I highly suggest using caulk that stretches and is crack resistant in cold weather (siliconized acrylic latex caulk.) Understandably, workers are on the clock but rushing causes Warranty issues, such as debris (cast off pieces of flooring) being planked over, creating a spongy-feeling floor that needs to be redone. The water pressure unit connected to our water tank, is located on the opposite side of the wall of one of our bedrooms. The location of the water heater should be located nearer the laundry room, because when that water pressure unit is employed, it sounds like a revving car engine through the bedroom wall. It can’t possibly be used when a person is sleeping in that room, as it is so loud! Neighborhood planning is amazing, and the undulating grounds look beautiful. On a negative note, the people who decide what gets planted, need to do some self-educating prior to planting. Chinese Pistache trees (planted in our development) are messy and have invasive roots, known to grow into ground pipes. They drop messy red berries that stain concrete, which inevitably attract birds that eat them then they drop red-stained poop all over concrete and homes. The smart choice is to plant Keith Davey Chinese Pistache or the Red Push Chinese Pistache, which look exactly like the Chinese Pistache, but DON'T grow fruit and whose roots DON'T invade pipes. Not messy! Arborvitae planted close to corners of homes is a bad idea. They grow large, develop wide trunks and will grow into the base of foundations. Ashton Woods needs improvement in quality control.

It is too early for me to give feedback on the house. I have not been in it long enough to know what will go right or wrong.

Lack attention to detail…paint overspray, walls now square, vents are not level, etc.
