Window World has yet to respond to my email:
What started out as a great experience has turned into a really bad one. The window installation was great and I'm expecting the inspection to go well and any warranty items to be addressed. The issue is I also ordered a sliding glass door and that's where the experience fell apart.
1 - There was a problem with the installation based on incorrect measurements and talk about cutting walls etc so the install was halted.
2 - Mike, Field Supervisor, called to say Window World would order a new door but I needed to sign to release the money (I am financing). I was willing to release the $'s for the windows since they were installed but not the door. Conversation centers on what I agreed to contractually and lo and behold - the T's & C's contract page Mike is referencing was never sent to me.
3 - Suddenly my salesperson is reaching out saying Window World will remove the sliding glass door from the contract. So odd I thought, that's your solution? remove the door? (without too much detail here I HAVE to do something with the door for the HOA so doing nothing is not an option).
4 - I didn't sign the new contract (windows less door) when David H., manager, reached out. We had what I thought was an honest conversation. I since learned the salesperson had ordered the wrong door and I shared I was waiting on a new quote. David asked if I would please sign the contract with the windows only and he would make sure the salesperson scheduled an appointment with me to resolve the issue with the sliding glass door (I have additional windows that need upgrading). For a show of good faith I signed the window only contract - what a fool I am.
- I recommended Window World to my neighbor and I let her know I had a concern with the slider since my salesperson was not contacting me.
- My salesperson is heavily courting my neighbor and any interaction I now have with Window World is through my neighbor. The thing is we both need something to be done with the sliding glass door. So when my salesperson calls my neighbor she conferences me in and Window Worlds' response is to increase the cost of the sliding glass doors (3 panels) over 110%. WOW - talk about getting screwed.
- I requested a new quote with the 110%+ increase but the salesperson has yet to follow-up (and yes, he is still courting my neighbor).
How to resolve this amicably and fairly
1 - I expected Window World to come back with a higher cost for the sliding glass door. I did not expect the increase to be an additional 110%+. The initial quote was for $4701 plus installation $1360 = $6061. New quote is $9810 plus installation $1360 = $11,170.
- I would expect a quote at a MAX 50% increase: $7051.50 plus installation $1360 = $8411.50
I still have 2 additional windows to be installed. I would prefer to have all the windows from Window World but if that can't happen so be it. But when I show a hand in good faith and trust Window World will do what's right for its existing customer, like I did in signing the windows only contract, I expect a fair and equitable response.
I would like to make this work and look forward to your response.
I have already recommended to my neighbor.
Work was not completed properly the first time and repair was difficult to schedule and ensure it was completed correctly the second time
The salesperson was good.
Good price and quality. Windows all meet relevant hurricane code and look good
I was impressed with the quality of the windows, installation, and cost!
From communication to follow up to the install was a horrible experience . A month past due, and I always had to call and check on them and nobody would call me to give me updates whatsoever then when they finally came in, I was given half a days notice that they were ready to install them and I need to be home for that When they came in they moved everything out of the way to put the windows in but put nothing back. They removed all my blinds and did not reinstall them. They cleaned mostly but left glass shards all in my kitchen on the floor and I have three cuts in my feet due to that .
Very good product & installation
We had a great experience, They beat New South Windows by 40 % in pricing ,they beat their own schedule in manufacturing time , they always did what they said they would do , the installation crew Jr. & James from the Seminole/Largo offices Fl. was absolutely great and we love the windows and sliding glass door. Definitely quality products .
The shutter installers did a terrible job, did not speak any English and the assigned field supervisor was unreachable during installation. Window World agreed to reimburse me if I found a contractor to repair the unsightly holes in the stucco. I've sent them all required documentation in support over a month ago and sent numerous emails inquiring about the reimbursement and get no response.
Yes
Based on my experience, I would not recommend WW -it has taken 3 months , and 3 service tech visits and I still don’t have the required safety locks to pass the inspection. My invoice had the incorrect address, and I had to call to track it down. My entire experience has been a challenge, therefore I would not recommend to a friend.
Everyone I dealt with at Window World was helpful and responsive. The windows came in in a timely manner, and the installation was scheduled at a time that suited us. We are very happy with the service and the product.
Currently, I am recommending to friends, with caveat watch points mainly regarding install. We'll see if I continue to recommend as we move into the post-install warranty phase.
I have already given info to some of my clients
Great job !
I am happy with the product but the installation experience was disappointing. I made appointments weeks in advance that weren't kept. You mismeasured a door which couldn't be installed as scheduled then came back weeks later and installed the same door. The trim wasn't installed right. I fixed the trim around the door myself because it wasn't worth the hassle of getting you back. The guy came to cap the windows and doors. He said he couldn't cap the door fasteners because they weren't installed deep enough. He said he would put in a work order to get that fixed but I never heard from anyone. I guess I will have to fix that myself as well.
They are efficient, professional, and on time.
Everyone was great
The installation process was amazing! The entire team was so professional and efficient. Great quality windows for a very affordable price!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for new windows.
The service was delivered as promised, and the work was clean.
I don't normally make recommendations; and given the price and quality of the product I don't feel good about this transaction.
10 Windows were quick from factory, but many visits to get this job done. Purchased 10/31, windows arrived 12/21, finished 5/1. Many attempts with wrong size windows, reschedule after reschedule, and one window that went in after several attempts is refurbished, or used, or old - clearly not new from the factory with obvious signs of wear, dirt, etc.
This is the second house I hired Window world to replace my windows. I am completely satisfied with the professional way in which from point of sale to installation was handled. As promised the new windows arrived and were installed in timely manner. The work crews each time were hard working professionals . All my concerns regarding the old windows and the weather damage done to the frame surrounding the window opening was put to ease by the crew supervisor when they answered my questions and performed the repairs as needed. I would recommend Window World to my neighbors.
I don't feel the office is professional in Tampa. The product is fine, but the office is not professional.
