Everything was streamlined and easy. Our installers (Shawn, Graham, Jason, and Rachel) were very professional and helpful in the process. They asked questions along the way to ensure that the windows and door were installed to my liking.
I love the warranty that comes with Universal Windows Direct. I love our front entrance that was installed by Universal Windows Direct. However, my experience with my current patio door frame was less than satisfactory. The current patio door frame was installed on February of 2022. The install was replacing a previous Universal Windows Direct patio door frame that was deemed needed replacement by Universal Windows Direct crew. It turned out that the install was the wrong patio door frame. The installers were contracted out by Universal Windows Direct. In addition, the install was not completed as promised and it took many months, numerous calls, and pleas to have the install completed. Would I recommend Universal Windows Direct for patio window frames to my neighbors and friends ? The answer is no regardless of the warranty that they stand by. I have registered my frustration with the install to numerous representatives at Universal Windows Direct during 2022.

Every Window and Door in my home is from UW, I love them, so so beautiful, just love, can't say enough and highly recommended to everyone I know. Recently, the handle on my storm door broke, 2-3 years old, tops. Just snapped, very odd. Anyhow, UW now charges a trip charge $149.99. If the issue is covered under the warrant you don't pay that trip charge, which has to be paid up front, very reasonable. in my case 3 weeks before the repair.While being repaired, the service technicians was shocked I was charged anything, clearly the doorknob should not have snapped the way it did and he believed this part was in fact covered under the warranty. I instantly felt ripped off. Glad I got my door fixed but feel completely taken advantage off by UW

My windows are beautiful and were installed neatly and attractively.
I struggled with the process. I set an appointment for a quote online. I then received several calls a day until I physically spoke to someone. What is the point of having an online portal if you're not going to use the online portal? The salesperson arrived on a Sunday morning and seemed very put out that he was there on a Sunday morning, even though we didn't specifically request Sunday morning, it was offered to us. The sale was VERY high pressure, like we'd be leaving thousands of dollars on the table if we didn't sign and pay the deposit that day. It was very uncomfortable. I didn't feel like I could compare options and so I don't feel like I got a value at all.
The wait time for the final measure was prompt and easy, but was again set over the phone. The wait time for the installation was, however, sooner than anticipated and the wait time between the arrival of our windows and the actual appointment was reasonable.
The installation team showed up early (great, no issue here). They ran into a problem with wires in the wall they were taking out. My husband was able to shut down the electric to that wall, but we had to call an electrician. I'm shocked that the issue wasn't anticipated and that there isn't someone on the Universal Windows Direct team who can handle this type of work when you know you're cutting into a wall. Also, the installation team was not neat and tidy in our home. The windows were filthy, the floors were filthy, and I would have anticipated better. Additionally, the trim was unfinished, another detail that left the job feeling unfinished. This is definitely not a "we do everything" installation that is commonly advertised out there.
Overall, I'm disappointed most with the constant phone calls, no use of text or email to manage scheduling. I didn't even receive any online confirmations of appointments or a receipt. It's 2025, you'll get more customers if you step out of the "we only do business over the phone" mentality. Secondly, I'm disappointed that the installation team showed up and immediately said we needed an electrician. This is highly unprofessional.
