Since founding Universal Windows Direct over 18 years ago, we have always strived to provide the best possible home improvement experience to our customers. In response to the current situation with the Coronavirus, we wanted to let you know about the steps that we are taking as a company to help limit the spread of the virus, and to protect you, our UWD team members, and our community.
We are closely monitoring the latest protocols and suggestions from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), our local health department, and others. Based upon these recommendations, we have implemented the following procedures throughout the company:
1. We have advised all UWD employees to stay home if they are sick, and to follow proper respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene at all times.
2. All sales presentation materials and installation tools and equipment must be thoroughly cleaned with Clorox wipes or equivalent disinfectant prior to any home visits.
3. In addition, we have asked all UWD employees whether they have travelled out of the country to any of the affected areas, or had contact with anyone who tested positive for the virus, and if they have, to report it to us immediately.
4. As of now, we have confirmed that no UWD employees have been in close contact with anyone that may have been exposed to the Coronavirus or COVID-19.
Similarly, we are asking that our customers provide us with necessary information to protect our employees and the community at-large. Therefore, we are requesting that if you or anyone that you have had close contact with has been out of the country and may have been exposed to the virus, please contact us immediately. Based upon this information, we need to make an informed decision in order to protect other UWD customers, our employees, and their families. We appreciate your cooperation with this request.
This is an evolving situation, but we remain committed to providing you with the best home improvement experience possible. As additional information becomes available, we will update these procedures as necessary to protect the safety of our customers, our team members, and our community. Overall UWD is a great company to work with they’ve done all the opening on my house. However the sliding window I had purchased and installed this time is much harder to slide than the sliding glass door I had installed previously through Universal windows.
We had to make most of the contacts to get the issue resolved.
The wait on doors is unacceptable and the quality is in question

We are generally pleased with our windows. It was a long process but we do understand most industries have many struggles with labor and supply chain, etc. I feel we got what we wanted and the windows seem to be of good quality.
Everything fine except an unacceptable messy job of caulking. I could have done as well myself. Scheduled to be redone.!

No. We had a great experience the first time, but not the second time. Too much money invested to only end up with the largest window in the order being wrong. No way to fix it other than paying for a whole new window. Over $25K spent. We would have at least liked for our order to be correct and clean. We would not want anyone else to be this disappointed.

At this point I wish I could take my referrals back. Not only did it take forever for the windows to be installed initially, one arrived broken. I was contacted by the “project manager” who never showed up to the job and 5 guys showed up that did not speak English. We were not able to communicate about concerns we had. They installed the broken window and it’s scheduled to be installed 12/6 which is 10 weeks later! Needless to say I have a huge front window with tape all across it on the front of my house. Also, one of the bedroom windows frames were cracked and still installed. The weather stripping between the windows is not installed correctly and one of the windows the safety lock is installed backwards which does not allow the window to hit it. All in all the amount of money we spent on these windows to feel like they absolutely don’t care about their customers and only the sale.
This is my first time getting new windows. Randy and Keith were so professional, effective and did such an amazing job. I could not be happier with my new windows and just like the commercial says. I love my windows
The quality of the work and their employees do not meet their cost to the customer. Local employees were unhelpful and extremely difficult to reach. My job had to be entirely redone after an incompetent team was sent to install. Even the second install was not to my satisfaction or to the caliper of what I paid.
From the very first visit with Brian Hagen and how he represented the product and company, all the way through the installation team and how thorough and respectful of our home while working was incredible and appreciated. The care they took and making sure we were satisfied was outstanding. I would (and already have) highly recommended the company and the great windows we now have.
My experience with universals window direct has been good. I have recommended this company to my neighbors and one neighbor has already had universal replace windows in his home
Have been working to have a job completed for a year now. No resolution in site. Have been told numerous lies by Tyrone. Never calls back when the says, makes promises he doesn't keep, have filed complaint with BBB, still won't finish installation.
