The customer service from the team at Varnell Preserve was beyond amazing from start to finish! This has felt like building a family rather than a home.

Dakoda, Kim, and another gentleman that work for Smith Douglas Homes have been excellent resources. There was this one fellow that stopped and actually asked if he could help us, and he hauled a bunch of heavy stuff out and put it in my car for me.

Smith Douglas Homes - Atlanta builds excellent homes. The personnel and company are wonderful.

The initial completion date was moved back four months or more. It was fine since it was a construction delay, but they weren't willing to compensate for any troubles that it may have caused. We weren't able to renew a lease to live in another place, we had to move spots, and there was possible rent income.

It was extremely disappointing the entire process due to the dishonestly of the building time and false hopes given continuously by Smith Douglass. Delays occur that are unforeseen which I understand; however, it is the dishonestly of when completion would occur that was disappointing. It left me almost homeless and without a way to have information to make other housing arrangements.

Fantastic home buying experience

There were issues with a cracked tub that I can still feel the patch work, very disappointed that I bought a new house but got a damaged tub. Then Glen head construction manager/ Perri the realtor manager lied to the Amanda (Sr. Loan Officer), mortgage company stating that the tub was not cracked and it was only a scratch. We have pictures that clearly showed a long crack, as well as, verification from the house inspector otherwise I would not have been able to prove it. The site realtor, Robin was very rude became very unprofessional in her interaction with us (which was not the case in the past) and when we tried to get assistance and express my concern, the site construction manager stopped communicating with us. On the day of closing there were several things stilled not fixed in the house, especially the roof, which had several damage tiles and area that were pointed out prior in the inspector report. The closing was pushed back later that day for things to get fixed, pictures of the roof was supposed to be sent to us to show that the damaged tiles were fixed, but we never got it. My agent spoke to Perri, the realtor's manager and they were supposed to be compensating us and never followed back up. We were purchasing my son’s forever home, and it was disheartening to have such poor customer service, when asked about not closing on the house, we were told we will lose the over $22,000 we had deposited, so we had no choice but to go through with the closing.

They are extremely efficient. They answered all my questions. They made the process for me very easy. It was my first time buying a home, so a part of me being apprehensive about buying a home was not being familiar with the home buying process. Smith Douglas really helped my wife and I through the process and made it easy.

At the end of the day, I would recommend Smith Douglas but only because of Mike Brigham and how hard he works his behind off to make things right. This is probably going to be one of the lengthiest surveys you have received, and I hope this is taken seriously and areas of concern are addressed. We got very concerned when we first joined the Facebook page for the neighborhood and saw all the issues new owners were having.

The construction team and Eric's team was great. The only reason I gave a four is due to the sales department's lack of knowledge on the options, and we were not offered certain things. We were not educated properly as a first-time home builder.

Liam the construction manager was super supportive and the entire construction team very helpful. Overall minor touchups that wasn't done before closing but the team went above and beyond to best help out. Still have minor things to resolve but will take note and resurface any issue during our 11 month revisit of home by Smith Douglas.

The process from beginning to end was smooth. I was updated every step of way, Shakoya kept me updated with photos and videos of the progress of my build. She answered all questions in a timely manner.

The home has great finishes and the staff have all been friendly & helpful. Beginning with our sales experience, Michelle was polite and accommodating in our requests to come visit the home frequently as it was being built. She answered the questions we asked and referred us to Dawson for any she could not. Post sales, Dawson has been an amazing resource to work with. We've had a few items we needed to remedy and Dawson has been responsive and thorough in his efforts to ensure the repairs were made to our satisfaction. He has been respectful in every interaction and ensured his presence in our home wasn't too disruptive to our daily lives.

I purchased a spec home that was thoughtfully appointed with some upgraded features without being too over the top which made it the perfect balance of custom and affordable. There were minor issues right after moving in but mostly related to me getting used to living in a more modern home. Everything was addressed promptly. The builder has several plans to choose from and even though there was not a model of the floor plan I was considering or another in construction to visit in person, the salesperson took me through the on-line videos and customization process in such a way that I knew that this would be my perfect home. The building process and timelines were met without issue. I would highly recommend this builder to anyone considering the process of building. They clearly stand behind their product.
