Saussy Burbank has been incredibly professional and thorough throughout every step of the process. We feel confident we are getting a high quality product and can't wait to move in.
The overall product met expectations; however, did lack attention to details and we have issues with items that we are still waiting to be fix.
Impressive floor plan designs and quality product.
Easy to work with and enjoy all the sales and building process.
Saussy Burnbank and your PM here, Connor Coons, have a strong reputation amongst the builders and new homeowners at Kiawah River. Other SB buyers frequently comment about their positive experience. Not always the case with the other builders. We were, and continue to be, extremely pleased with Connor's approach, style and assistance.
Areas Of Satisfaction - PM Connor Coons was very helpful and communicative. He did what he committed to and was honest whenever he couldn't do something. He stuck to do-able timelines and if something took longer than expected, he promptly let us know.
Customer Suggestion - From a design standpoint, SB placed certain appliances or other features that we would have expected to see in a lesser priced home. Specifically, the dishwasher, oven and microwave are something we might expect in a starter home, vs. a $1MM+ home. Plastic toilet seats (Connor fixed that and had better quality ones installed) The electrical architecture was a bit lacking. Switch locations, particularly for the ground floor, are only located on that ground floor, meaning we have to go downstairs to turn off many of the exterior lights. Most homeowners in this neighborhood (including us) have a golf cart, and an extra refrig or freezer or two downstairs. Larger voltage plugs and breakers as standard install would have been nice. (I'm paying to have that additional capacity added)
Additional Comments - Connor was/is great. He has that absolute best reputation amongst all the builders in Kiawah River, and most owners speak very highly of Saussy as a result. He's an outstanding representative of your brand and company.
every one was great to work with.
Additional Comments - We would buy again from Saussy Burbank.
Concern For Needs - Sherry is incredibly responsive to considering changes that meet our needs to live in our home.
Options - This is the 4th house that we have started from the ground up. I think that Saussy Burbank has curated a good selection of options to not overwhelm the consumer.
Responsive Design - Ally was increbily helpful. She was patient when I became overwhelmed or indecisive.
Customer Suggestion - There are no amenities in the neighborhood however HOA is very high. We are currently paying $79 fir HOA in Maryland which cover trash pickup , swimming pool and tennis courts.
Additional Comments - Thomasena and ally were both very professional and very responsive to our requests for information . I do feel the house is a little overpriced and we may not be able to recover what we paid for the house.
I have been having issues with the home - leak, dry wall repairs needed, cracked cabintet, etc - all are being addressed but it is tiresome and tedious along with the other requirements of a new home.
Have lived in a Saussy Burbank home for the past 22 years and have been satisfied with its performance. Like the high ceilings and open plan design.
Their customer service was really great. They responded to questions in a timely manner. They did a video call with me to do a walk through of the home.
We really enjoyed our experience with Saussy Burbank. From the initial tour with Kim, working with the design center and our intersections with Frank, we’re all very pleasant and professional.
Understand Building Process - We have not heard where our house is in the building process. Electrical was to be completed the week after Christmas. Though don’t believe that has happened.
Very great communication and easy process.
Great experience overall with Saussy and Trisha W!
Top notch customer service from beginning conversation to beyond the closing making sure that I’m satisfied with everything
We found that Saussy Burbank has a well deserved reputation for building signature homes in prime locations with a deep concern for customer satisfaction.
To potential customers, read the contract carefully and visit work site on a regular basis. They will cover problems up. It is left to you to find them. There was no supervision at our site. If you have deal with Saussy Burbank in the past, this is not the same Saussy Burbank. This company uses the Saussy Burbank name to Market their product.
Sales Attentiveness - She is so good at what she does.. we just think she’s the best
Additional Comments - The salesperson did an excellent job. This is our second time buying a house from them.
Easier Than Expected - This is my second Saussy home and can’t wait!
Additional Comments - Yes, Thomasena is a Angel in disguise ❣️
There is good and bad, as always with a new build. Unfortunately it was pandemic time. Still no excuse for things to not still be handled 6 months after closing. Up until closing and immediately after you could get help then it all went away and never came back. 6 months later issues on walk through documentation are still not resolved. I am happy with the house inside, after finally getting the cabinet people, paint people, etc. to finish the work.
We had a great experience with Saussy Burbank from start to 1 year later with warranty coverage. We would definitely have another Saussy Burbank home in the future.
We are very satisfied and enjoy our home. All individuals with Saussy Burbank were and still are very helpful and friendly.
From people point of view: very friendly and nice people to deal with; but from quality point of view: bad, and issues don't get solved, many reoccurring problems.
Recognized Excellence - Connor & Summer
Areas For Improvement - none
Areas Of Satisfaction - Connor’s responsiveness has always met or exceeded expectations.
Additional Comments - Summer is a great addition to your team
Once the project is completed then I can better answer this question. We are generally very happy, however, there have been a few concerning items that have occurred. We have not built a house before so after the project is completed then we will be in a better position to answer the question.
Professional & Organized - Yes. One strength of SB is that they have a well-defined system and approach to which they adhere. In a custom build setting that can be an impediment and can cause issues. However, for us this structure and approach has worked well. SB's ability to execute is strong.
Understand Building Process - I think I do. Connor has been excellent to work with and answers our questions. There is room for improvement during the contract negotiation and materials selection process but until the project is completed may be too early to discuss. SB is understandably very busy and they have to be careful about how much time they spend educating their customers before they commit to the project.
Concern For Needs - Yes. Saussy's systems and procedures are highly defined so that may conflict with custom homebuilding approaches.
Knowledge Of Community - SB is well respected by the Beach Cos and homeowners at KR. They have established a strong niche in comparison to other builders at KR.
Overall Experience - I will probably rate highly, however the project is not completed.
Sales Communication - If by "Sales Team" you mean Connor, then absolutely. SB should work hard to reward and support his efforts. He should be trained for elevated responsibilities. Have met Summer and she is an excellent representative for SB.
Sales Knowledge - Yes. The SB approach may limit some choices but that system enables them to work efficiently and effectively.
Design Center & Selections - Elizabeth really enjoyed working with Aleeha. For budgetary reasons we had to make different choices but we are hopeful that these will work. Preliminary pictures show promising results.
Options - Yes, but we had to make value engineering decisions in order to afford the house.
Responsive Design - House and Landscape design was done by Allison Ramsey and Chachula so SB not involved with that. We would have been open to SB comments but they did not propose any changes. But I can appreciate why they would not want to take on that role. SB used their structural engineer whose plans differ from what Allison Ramsey proposed (eg, number of piers). Hope that changes made will still enable the house to withstand extreme weather.
Sales Community Presentation - Ryan Hamrick was our sales person at KR, reporting to Chris Drury. Ryan was excellent and we were sorry to see him leave. Dean Haeusser has taken over and we are happy with his accessibility. Chris is also available. They understand their craft.
Easier Than Expected - We did not have an expectation going in. I think the building process is harder than one might think regardless of the contractor, especially if one has not gone through it before. The SB team is accessible and responsive.
Customer Suggestion - Perhaps after the job is finished and closed we could have a sit-down to discuss.
This is our 2nd build (1 Saussy plan and 2nd custom build) with Saussy and they continue to deliver. There is no doubt if we were to build again it would absolutely be with Saussy.
Mortgage Company Satisfaction - Construction Loan
Areas Of Satisfaction - Quality and customer service
Additional Comments - This is our 2nd build with Saussy and Connor and they continue to deliver. There is no doubt that if we were to build again it would be with Saussy and Connor.
Recognized Excellence - Connor Coons was terrific to work with. He was extremely responsive, pleasant to work with, detailed oriented and most importantly ensured the quality and customer service throughout!! This is the 2nd home with Saussy and Connor. The 1st was a Saussy designed build and the 2nd was a semi-custom so Connor served as the GC. We could not be happier!!
Areas Of Satisfaction - Without a doubt customer service, responsiveness and quality
Additional Comments - The 2nd home which was a semi-custom build we had initially spoke to another builder because we had liked one of their plans. We were ready to go with them however because of our experience with Saussy and Connor we decided to stay with Saussy and we definitely made the right choice. Our home was delivered on time and we love it. Our neighbor selected another builder and unfortunately have had excessive delays and issues that they are still working through them eight months after our home was completed. As with any build issues came up. Saussy dealt with them quickly and effectively.
So far. Must make final evaluation upon one year mark of ownership.

Pre-Closing Walkthrough List - It’s very difficult to absorb. I’d recommend a 4 hour appointment with SB assisting with all warranties and such.
Overall Experience - So far. Must make final evaluation upon one year mark of ownership.
PM Communication - Connor is a superstar.
PM Professionalism - Again. He’s a superstar.
Warranty Understanding - I think. But I have still not had time to complete my warranties.
Easier Than Expected - So far. Must make final evaluation upon one year mark of ownership.
Areas Of Satisfaction - Al, Tommy, Connor, Sam . . . Everyone at SB was great to work with. Really, really top notch. We worked most extensively with Tommy and Connor, and both are true professionals. Smart, knowledgeable, expert, nice, PATIENT, kind, empathetic, and simply decent men. The best.
Customer Suggestion - Not at this time. Ask again after one year warranty expires.
Additional Comments - Can we have a do-over on about six big decisions? Just kidding. Our first build, and we made some mistakes and wish we had done several things better.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the opportunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Saussy Burbank as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
