I would recommend Precision Countertops as their workmanship exceeded my expectations.
Errors!
Awesome job!! Easy to deal with, very responsive to every question we had!
The customer service was quite challenging to work with, to say the least. I let them know that I Am a DIY'er and that I had never built for a countertop before. I repeatedly asked for whatever information they could tell me to be prepared ahead of time and make sure everything went smoothly. I had a very clear design drawn up with all countertop dimensions and locations for all appliances. It wasn't until after the template designer came that I was told the location of my sink would negate the warranty. At this point I had already set my cabinets and was deeply invested in the design. I either had to upgrade to solid surface or negate my warranty. This is exactly the type of thing I was trying to avoid by asking for more information on what to be prepared for. This was a very easily avoidable situation, especially with the detailed plans I had. When I asked to be given a discount on the laminate, since I was asked to sign a waiver for the warranty I was told that there's not enough of a mark up on laminate and Precision wouldn't make any money. So the reason that Precision wouldn't do something to make up for their poor communication(the lack of information I needed to avoid this problem, which I repeatedly asked for) was because it would negatively impact them. So because they wouldn't make any money, I the consumer was going to have to take the impact for their inability to communicate basic information. Fortunately, Home Depot stepped in and gave me a 50% discount on the upgrade. Right from the beginning I also had some very simple and specific design questions that they failed to get back to me about. How much support the countertop needed in the sections with no cabinets and, the main thing I needed to know, the thickness of the countertop to be installed so I could plan my tile layout. The Home Depot design page said "1/2" thickness" for the countertop. My original project manager didn't know the answers and said she would pass it on to Melinda, who would be my new project manager. She said Melinda would call me on Monday(this was on a Friday). Melinda didn't call me back, and when finally I called her she didn't even know about my questions. They were never even passed on to her. Turns out, she couldn't answer my questions either. She said the template person would know. When I asked to speak with a template person she said I had to wait for them to come to my house. I couldn't even have a phone call or talk to someone about this very simple information?? This is a simple thing that many companies do. Let you talk with someone that can answer your questions. Especially a couple easy questions like this. Melinda eventually just told me that my countertops would be 3/4" thick. I planned my tile according to this information. When the template person arrived he took one quick look at my countertop design and said it would be 1 1/2" thick. Not 3/4"?! Why was I told the wrong thickness?? Why give any number if you don't actually know?! Additionally, I was told that 3/4" or 1 1/2" were the main 2 options and it simply had to do with the location of the top of my cabinet drawers. A quick call with a template person ahead of time could have determined this basic design info. Instead I was told the WRONG information and this impacted my design in a negative way. My countertop would now be 3/4" higher than I was told. I would now have to cut an entire row of tile that would have been able to be a full piece. :( Again, poor communication. When I agreed to pay the upgrade I told them in order to pay for it I needed confirmation of my project being done by a given date. The manager at Precision confirmed and agreed to have the install done by said date and so I paid for the upgrade. I was eventually called and given a date a full week AFTER the date Precision agreed to complete the project by. So now they are not keeping our contract. :( I reminded Melinda of the agreement that Precision made with me and she told me that date couldn't be kept because of the upgrade. This agreement was made as part of the upgrade! She seemingly didn't even know about the contract that was made with me literally as a part of the upgrade agreement. Agaoin, poor communications not just between Precision and myself(the customer) but also internally within Precision. I informed Melinda of this agreement and sent copies of the emails confirming this contract. AGAIN she told me it wouldn't be honored. Finally, after I asked for the case to be sent to her manager, I was told that they could install it a day after they had agreed to. I accepted this late install. It didn't stop there, and I haven't even reported any of the rest of this b/c I have been so frustrated and disappointed by Precisions lack of professionality. The installers showed up, very nice guys. It was a struggle to speak with them b/c they don't know English, but I can work with that. The hole they cut for the cooktop was really sloppy and I could see the end of some of their cuts sticking out from underneath the cooktop! The hole is basically a bit bigger than the cooktop in some places and the owner or installers' boss had to hide it with calking. Ugh. :( This is basic stuff that is a part of doing finish work. It needs to have a nice finished look, not exposed cuts showing. Next, I noticed that some of the glue from the seam was spilled down the side of my cabinets and ruined the door. Again, the owner took my cabinet touch up kit and did his best to hide it. Luckily it's not very noticeable, but my cabinet door is damaged! Finally, the hole for the undermount sink isn't square to the countertop edge. It is 1/8" more narrow at one end than the other. I Am able to see this fairly easily with my naked eye. Again, fortunately it isn't something super obvious, but still poor quality. I Am considering doing some researching and seeing if I can fix this myself. I don't know, we'll see.
We had to delay the templating appointment a total of 5 times before finally getting cabinets installed and ready to be measured and our project manager at Precision was always very kind and understanding of the delays and rescheduling.
We really enjoy our New Kitchen; i would recommend Precision Countertops for your project. I WOULD recommend getting a more accurate picture of what they offer; what they can do especially if your kitchen has a unique design.
The office staff were especially nice to work with.
They were helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. Measurements were perfect and the install was done in just a few hours.
Precision Countertops provided a thorough service. The communication between their representatives and Home Depot was unclear. The project was completed on time although the time from template to install seemed extensive.
Precision Countertops was easy to work with, had fast turnaround, and we are happy with our counters and the quality of their work. The best part was that they were the only company we could find who had a large selection of slabs in inventory, and who also did the cutting and installation. This was perfect for our bathroom counter projects, because we were still allowed to pick from any slab in their inventory, even though our bathrooms didn't require a full slab.
Nice job, looks great.
Overall smooth process
Precision Countertops, Inc. was excellent to work with. I heartily recommend them to anyone with a countertop project!
Once the work began, the countertops were completed in one day and, like magic, a new kitchen. It was very exciting for us.
Very nice to deal with.
The quality of the counter top is only bested by the men in the crew. They were all first rate. Polite, efficient, and professional. It was a pleasure to have them in our home.
They maintain communication throughout the process. The estimator had good knowledge and recommended a soft corner and window sills. The install team was good and helped me decide on the faucet drilling.
It depends on how our seam issue is resolved.
We were completely satisfied with the product and the quality of the service
Love, Love, Love our countertops. Communication, professionalism, and all the rest was top-notch!
We are very pleased and would highly recommend Precision Ciuntertops!
I would highly recommend this company. And working along with Home Depot in Liberty Lake for complete kitchen project.
Excellent service and top quality. I highly recommend.
Professional, experienced people at all levels of the installation!
Very professional and knowledgeable. Ahead of schedule and results are phenomenal. Can't say enough good about the crew and experience.
