We happily recommend Next Stage Design + Build services. We were concerned that we didn’t want the costs to inflate so we worked to avoid any significant change orders. Next Stage worked closely with us to achieve the no surprise result. The final cost was what we originally signed up for and it was done per the agreed schedule. That, in itself, is a huge testament to Next Stage.
Had we not spent the time upfront to carefully consider the design choices and instead made changes during the construction process we may not have had the same results of on budget and on time.

The design help I received was invaluable and their ability to respond to last-minute changes of mind (just a few) and unexpected issues was impressive. The approvals and permit process with my building HOA and the City was managed with no headaches for me. Best of all, my project was finished ahead of schedule! I love the results and am looking forward to another 10 years in my home with all of my wish list checked off.

Communication - I was always able to get in touch with any team member if I had questions. It wasn't often because they kept me informed every step of the way.
Problem Resolution - I know that some of my appliances were tricky and the flooring was a challenge. But they figured it out.
Schedule - Finished AHEAD of schedule! That never happens.
Clean & Safe - Every time I visited the site, usually on the weekend when nobody was around, everything was in good shape. They took a lot of care to keep my remaining fixtures and belongings safe and secure.
Work Done Right - There were a few issues along the way, but these were handled quickly by Neera, Chip, and Tim.
Project Manager - Tim was super responsive to all my questions and was great at making decisions on the fly to keep everything on schedule and completed to his satisfaction. He was masterful at developing good relationships with my building management and the security/lobby guards who allowed access to my unit. This was essential in keeping the project on schedule and making everyone happy. Timlet me know when something came up—he didn't hide it from me but kept me informed about issues and their resolution. He was also respectful about my property and making sure others showed the same respect.
Recognized Excellence - I feel like Tim went above and beyond my expectations, especially in wrapping up the final details and making sure everything met with my satisfaction.
Additional Comments - I know I could have done this remodel for less money, but I wouldn't have had the quality of workmanship and materials that I have. Most importantly, I probably would have had a physical, emotional, or mental breakdown somewhere in the process. Next Stage Design + Build gave me peace of mind through what is normally a stressful and complicated process. It's not easy to do a project like mine and bring it in close to or at budget and keep on track with the schedule, but they did an amazing job. Well worth the money and time!

My brother recommended Next Stage to me for the home improvement. If a friend is considering home improvements, I would recommend Next Stage to my friends. The Next Stage team was good to work with for the home improvement. From Sales to Project Manager to all the team that did the dry rot repair, the kitchen drawer guides, dishwasher installation, the electrical repair, and bathroom improvements, all were great. Even though this was a small project the work was well done. It's a good feeling to have a good home improvement experience after all is done.
Quality of work and customer service was great. The job was done to very high standards. It was quite expensive, but that is the tradeoff with having a reliable contractor you can trust to take care of every little detail.

With Next Stage we paid a premium knowing that the work will be done right, they are fully insured, and the project requires minimal effort on our part since they take care of so many details.

Subcontractors Professionalism - The subcontractors that were used with our kitchen project were great. The cabinet maker did superb work on the quality of the units. Also, the cabinet installers did professional work. When the incorrect flooring material was installed, the flooring subcontractor replaced the incorrect flooring material with the proper material without any conflict. The subcontractor for installing the backsplash was a real craftsman with his work. All the subcontractors were very professional and supportive of our project and in providing their quality effort to make our kitchen remodeling successful.
Project Manager - Paul Delgros, the Project Manager, was on top of the action items that kept the project on schedule. He kept us informed of where the project status was and what is needed to be addressed throughout the project.
Recognized Excellence - Earl Pagh was quite dedicated to making sure all activities were accomplished and in reasonable time. Earl was genuinely interested in our kitchen remodeling project and quite supportive for us. Also, Paul Delgros, the Project Manager was as well.
Additional Comments - The remodeling effort is a daunting set of activities to do and coordinate. If we had to be the prime contractor for our kitchen remodeling, it would have taken us an ungodly amount of time and effort, a need of experience that we do not have to guide us. We appreciate the coordination, the resources, the allocation of special subcontractors needed to do the work, the scheduling, the permits needed, the new appliances that had to been chosen, and on and on. Employees Professionalism - Next Stage team is exceptional in the professionalism from the early estimation phase through planning and construction. They always listened to our concern and addressed them promptly. And for some difficult issue, they always did their best to problem solve the issues. They also did a clean up after each phase of the construction. Of course It could not be as good as professional cleaning service but the site was cleared of construction waste and we could easily move in and enjoyed our newly remodeled house!
Sales Knowledge - Rita helped us set the scope of project and provided us corresponding quotes for different options so we had the flexibility to adjust the scope the project and set the proper expectation for the budget. She also helped us with the transition plan to divide the project into two phases which made our life much easier during the construction.
Project Designer Knowledge - Dianne and Noor are so wonderful to work with. They helped us find the design that suite our life style and also aesthetic pleasing. One of the biggest challenge is that our house has no square room but they made everything fit nicely! We have several customized spaces - an cozy nook for friends/family gathering and a laundry room/mudroom that's perfect for our ourdoor lifestyle and a specialized kitty litter room for our cats that's so much easy to maintain etc. Their design really improve our quality of life greatly!

Before embarking on our renovation project my husband and I were both very hesitant to even go down the route of a renovation. You hear horror stories of people who have had a terrible experience. I even had one family tell me they have PTSD from their contractor and will never remodel a home again. I knew that if we were going to do this, my gut would guide me and let me know which company felt right and would be the right fit for our project. I was not wrong. I told my husband right from the start that Next Stage felt different and I felt comfortable with them (we met with MANY different companies). If we were going to spend our money on a project as big as ours I needed to have absolute trust from the beginning. Throughout the yearlong process, I was reassured over and over again that the decision to go with Next Stage was the right decision. Each and every step throughout the process was smooth, professional, and genuinely fun.

What is most appealing about your employees are that they have the right balance of professionalism mixed with authenticity and friendliness. I loved that they shared tidbits from their personal lives along the way. Rita could recommend places for us to check out when we traveled to Healdsburg. I know Paul loves Family Feud and had an amazing trip to Italy. Dianne was always quick to share photos of her little boy during our conversations of how rambunctious young boys can be and Noor would share guidance on parenting teens as my daughter is now entering that same stage. I could hang out with this group on a Saturday evening over dinner and have the best time. Professionalism was always there and that is great, but authenticity is what stood out to me.

My husband and I have talked extensively about what we love the most in our new home and it goes back to the original design. We are still living in only a 1,500+ sq. ft. home and yet we feel we have gained SO much space and functionality in our home. This design was everything to us and we cannot thank you enough. Clean & Safe - I cannot thank you enough for completing this project without disruption to the neighboring school, crossing guards, and hundreds of children that walk past our home on a daily basis. Right before you started demo on our home there was an incident in our district where a child was hit and killed by a car in a crosswalk going to school. It was such a tragic accident and I was terrified when you started construction that because of our home renovation, trucks and vehicles might hinder our crossing guard's visibility of the students. It was never an issue and I am so grateful everyone who came to our home was mindful of the traffic and children. I know some home sites are easier than others. Please know that the care you took to not block our streets is appreciate by me more than you will ever know.

Value - We know that we could have saved money by going about our renovation in a different way or with a different company, however, there is no doubt in my mind that if we had, the experience would not have come close to being as good as it was with Next Stage. We had high expectations knowing what we were spending and you exceeded those expectations!
Project Manager - It speaks very highly of Paul that as soon as I hear his name, I get a smile across my face. He, of course, was the one behind the scenes managing every detail of our construction schedule but outside of that he is so personable and fun to chat with. Paul was happy to meet with us on a weekly or biweekly basis so we could see progress and ask questions, he responded very quickly over text and email, and dealt with any issues we had in a timely manner. The role of Project Manager is so vital to the success of a project and I realize that I say that not even knowing half of what Paul does behind the scenes. In fact, all the headaches and stress that he shouldered during our project so we didn't have to, makes him a freaking Golden God! I trusted him wholeheartedly every step of the way. You are good people, Paul, and I can't thank you enough for the time and attention you gave our home. The title of Golden God crossed my mind more than once of course (how could it not?!?!) but even more so Paul you are "the guy next door" which simply means, a neighbor and friend everyone would love to have.

Problem Resolution - Because everyone at Next Stage made the design/process so easy it never seemed like there were any problems to solve, they were all addressed early before they became problems.
Schedule - The project finished early!
Budget - The project stayed on budget and was worth every penny!
Project Manager - Paul was amazing! Extremely helpful, organized, and courteous. Answered every question and followed up quickly. He was able to accommodate our schedule and we always knew what was happening next.
Recognized Excellence - Patricia, Dianne, and Paul are rock stars! We were very anxious about our decision to demolish and design/construct a new kitchen. We put off for over a decade. When we finally decided to roll the dice, those three made the process unbelievable easy from start to finish!
Next Stage is very clear about the cost upfront, which means there are no surprises in time, quality, or costs throughout the process! They have never, ever disappointed our expectations and frequently exceeded them!
Lead Carpenter Professionalism - The project manager was not Glenn. I believe it was Shawn and Ramen, who were fantastic!
Schedule - They adhere to the schedule because of a one in a hundred-year storms, but they were heroic considering the circumstances!
Production Coordination - 6! I texted him day and night, and he replied even when he shouldn't have.
Recognized Excellence - I would like to recognize Tim, Shawn, Ramen, Michael, Moe, Jessy, the concrete and air conditioning people, and Damien for their exceptional service. Keith did a really good job; I think he was just a little overloaded. That is a lot of people who were really guests in our home, I felt.

Lead Carpenter Professionalism - The carpenter had good workman ship, was knowledgeable and professional.
Professional & Organized - All employees were professional attitude.
Communication - Project was scheduled and updated in time. All work was supervised and followed up. No issues were found.
Problem Resolution - No issues. The Project was done smoothly .
Expertise - The Sub Contractors hired were good and knew what they are doing. Next Stage Design and Build had many good and competent workers.
Clean & Safe - Very good. The Workers cleaned up after work , after the day and trash was picked up regularly. The portable toilet was provided. These were great.
Construction Quality - It was expected. All were very good.
Production Coordination - The production Coordinator was responsive, paid attention in details and monitored the project to the target date.
Project Manager - He explained the project to be executed thoroughly and what to be expected. I was comfortable that he lead the project smoothly.
Recognized Excellence - I recommend Raymond, and Chip for their excellent services. They are an asset for the Company. These employees were working very hard even though the job required two person jobs but they were happy and performed well by themselves.
Additional Comments - It happened during the construction work , we were out of the country for two weeks. We left the house, the key for the workers to continue working on the project. Everything was fine. The workers protected the floors ,the stairs , the walls for their work. I appreciated with their consideration to maintain the living space clean and their discipline.

Lead Carpenter Professionalism - Ray was here so much he became part of the family. Very courteous and considerate to leave our home as clean as he found. it.
Professional & Organized - Very professional, very organized. All plans and build timelines were provided and updated regularly. No surprises.
Communication - Both on site conversations and app based updates made the planning easy. I had to coordinate painters, window contractors, audio video contractors, and others so they wouldn't interfere with each other. The planning process made that easy.
Problem Resolution - We had structural issues which caused some delays but the team kept the subs informed so that they could adapt to the new schedules. I had some issues with appliance installation and Nextstage stepped up and installed by range when it wasn't their job. Much appreciated!
Expertise - Yes. Their relationship with and understanding of the county permit process was excellent. They helped me avoid unplanned and costly structural upgrades by reinforcing existing structural elements at a fraction of the cost.
Schedule - Very close to the original schedule. Delays are expected but there weren't many.
Clean & Safe - We lived in the house during th remodel and the team was great at cleaning up when they left for the day.
Punchlist - We didn't have much of a punch list but it was handled quickly.
Work Done Right - Most was flawless. We did have to re-tile a section of our shower twice because the project manager noticed the quality wasn't up to NextStage standards.
Production Coordination - Very responsive and helpfull with other contractors I had hired for smaller elements of the project.
Project Manager - Paul was awesome. Always responsive. Very good at the technical details and working with the county permit process.
Recognized Excellence - Earl was awesome. Always has a smile on his face and very helpful to keep the program on track on a daily basis. Nor was also extremely helpful to us during the design phase.
Additional Comments - So glad I found Next Stage for this project.
Everything was great and to our expectations, but there is a premium cost to the services.
