Please note, this review is from Debbie H. wife of Michael H.; I was the principle contact for our project.
Kitchen Portion of Original Bid - I am very happy with the overall appearance and functionality of my kitchen remodel (4 out of 5 stars). However, as the project wore on I found the remodeling process became frustrating, communications were poor at times, and I felt I had to be on point for portions of the work as well as hold my ground to get some aspects of the remodel properly completed. There was no on-site project wrap-up with the project manager - a big disappointment from my perspective. Therefore, my rating for the process of accomplishing the Kitchen Portion of Original Bid is much lower (2 out of 5 stars).
The overall rating wrt if I would recommend LRD based on the Kitchen Portion of Original Bid - 3 out of 5 stars.
Exterior Portion of Original Bid - There were two distinct projects to the original bid which we signed on July 12, 2022: Complete remodel of the existing kitchen (kitchen portion) and miscellaneous siding repair (exterior portion). I was initially told the exterior work would be done in late summer/early Fall 2022, then i was told it would be done while the kitchen remodel was underway. To date, no work has been done on the exterior of our home.
The overall rating wrt if I would recommend LRD based on the Exterior Portion of Original Bid - 0 out of 5 stars. (I did not use this value in computing my final "Likely To Recommend" rating as I am hoping someone from LRD management will contact me for an on-site, face to face discussion so we can address the items above as well as those items which will be mentioned in the following survey.)
Brian Slaten expertly got our project for window replacement set up. Tim Scott did an outstanding job coordinating the project. We were always kept informed of upcoming events. A necessary siding repair after the window replacement was coordinated by Sam Fears. We were very impressed with the entire process and the efficiency with which Lakeside Renovation accomplished the work. Several neighbors have already inquired as to which company we used and our impression of the work done. We were most happy to recommend Lakeside Renovation & Design.
Materials and workmanship top notch. We are very satisfied with the results of the project.
Great company. Easy to work with. Awesome communication throughout the construction process.
The quality of the carpenter team was outstanding. The project took longer than I expected but that's what happens when you do a project over the Thanksgiving, Christmas. New years holidays. Overall I am very pleased with the results at what I would call a fair price. Good job.
The entire team was easy to work with, had great ideas, and listened to my concerns. I’m pleased with the quality of work and am looking forward to using them for future projects.
We are thrilled with the final results of our covered patio/fireplace project! The professionals at Lakeside made our vision a reality, especially our Design-Build Crew Lead Gerald, who made some great recommendations for our design. The only room for improvement feedback, is to be more transparent/honest about timeline of project. Many times during construction, we'd have crews on our project a day or two during the week, but then not see anyone until the next week. That workflow was different than what we were initially told at the start of the project. I completely understand the need to balance and manage several projects at once, just make sure that's communicated with customers from the start.
All that being said, again we are very pleased with the final product.
The non-responsiveness of the initial project lead(mgr?), Eric, had us concerned by late spring, beginning of June. He would not respond to questions and eventually was no longer our project mgr. Chris took over after we mentioned to Tim not hearing from Eric, Chris got the project back on as best schedule as possible. Better choosing people to be project managers/lead is critical to assessing how customers feel towards the service company.
I ultimately went with Lakeside because I knew I was going to get a quality product and the installation of my windows was going to be done correctly which was a major priority due to the age of my house.
Found Lakeside a good contractor for siding, roofing and window replacement. Glad project of screening in our existing deck is completed.
Only communication with Lakeside had to be initiated by me as the client and had to wait for calls back to get answers!
Wonderful work ethic, from beginning to finish, a very pleasant experience.
Several items where not thought through, or relayed to Brian and his team. Modifications had to done in several areas which is expected in a remodel of this kind
I am overall pleased with the completed project and realize that anything of this magnitude and expense is going to have a challenge here and there. I can't say enough about the project manager, who came by often and addressed every concern. I had hired a general contractor who was supposed to be the overseer for me of the project and was to deal with the manager/crew, but he had a family conflict. Turns out I didn't really need him; Brandon and the crew, I felt, were honest and responsive and knowledgeable.
I am likely to recommend Lakeside Renovation & Design to a friend. They came in, worked fast, and finished very quickly. They did a great job.
Every area has been “on top of things.”
They are the best. They are professional, the workers are outstanding, and they are timely.
We are incredibly pleased with the work the Lakeside did with our basement renovation. From start to finish, the entire team was knowledgeable and professional.
Great experience. Would recommend yo everyone with needs.
I am satisfied with the quality of work by Lakeside and I have referred friends and neighbors.
Satisfied customer! Lakeside bid was fair and reasonable. I had received a few bids from other contractors and they were either too high or the company would say they could do the project, took measurements and never saw them again. I will definitely contact Lakeside for our next remodel project. They are dependable, no surprises and communication was excellent.
Overall, it was a very positive experience & I "love" my windows!
Professional, friendly and easy to deal with thru every step. Especially in today’s understaffed business world, they were exceptional.
They give a talented, knowledgeable, and quality service. The people are talented.
This has been such a frustrating experience - awful, inconsistent communication; many days where no one shows up to work without explanation; terrible quality (for example the glass shower door installers realized they could not install the doors because the work crew never grouted the shower threshold so it was unstable); doing not even the bare minimum without any communication between work groups or homeowners. Some days we had three people working really hard, other days we had a 14 year old girl and her mom doing the painting, sometimes we had weeks at a time where no one showed up and nothing was said about when they would return. It is bewildering and maddening how unprofessional and incompetent they continue to be. We signed on for a month long bathroom renovation and we are well into our third month with no end in sight. I would very much recommend a different company, hiring them was a mistake I will never make again!
This job was a complete nightmare from start to finish. Communication is extremely poor among other reasons.
GuildQuality partners with it's member companies to survey their customers and collect detailed feedback on their behalf. By administrating surveys as an unbiased third party we ensure that customers have the opportunity to express their true feelings about a project and that members get the most accurate and detailed feedback possible.
When a survey contains the "Review" question, that customer's answer will show up on the member's profile page as a public review. Members have the option to turn off reviews but cannot hide individual reviews. It's all or nothing. This means that any reviews you see on a GuildQuality profile page are real comments left by the customer and verified by GuildQuality.
Each item listed under "Customer satisfaction" represents a specific question asked by GuildQuality to customers of Lakeside Renovation & Design as part of our survey process. The bar graph and percentage next to the question stand for the percentage of respondents that were "Satisfied" about that particular question.
A customer is considered satisfied about about a question if they answered with 4 or more stars out of 5. For example if the "Communication" question is at 95% satisfaction that means that 95% of survey respondents answered that question with 4 or more stars out of 5 possible stars.More about surveys
